About the property

Located on Central Park! 1200sf brand new apt with 600sf garden. Free Soul Cycle

THE APARTMENT: A "Plum Guide Special Selection Property," Oasis on Central Park West is a beautiful garden apartment on one of Manhattan's most sought-after blocks. This newly renovated, contemporary apartment has 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, washer/dryer, open living/dining/kitchen plan. Best of all: it is located right off Central Park! Lots of light and lots of amenities, including chef's kitchen, washer/dryer, wifi, central a/c, Sonos sound system, bike storage.

THE LOCATION: Located at the start of the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the finish of the NYC Marathon, "Oasis on Central Park West" is around the corner from the Museum of Natural History, the NY Children's Museum, Beacon Theater, Lincoln Center (home of the NY Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the NYC Ballet, two Broadway theaters and Wynton Marsolis' Jazz at Lincoln Center). From the entrance to Central Park right at the end of our block, you can listen to John Lennon's songs at Strawberry Fields, watch Shakespeare in the Park, ride the Carousel, skate at Wolman Rink. For the sports-minded, take a morning jog around the Park's 6-mile loop (or one of the smaller loops) or along the Hudson River or rent a Citi-bike and take the bike trail to Chelsea Piers or the Brooklyn Bridge. We are near LOTS of subways: It's just one express stop on the 1-2-3 train to Broadway and three stops on the B train to Rockefeller Center and MOMA and three more stops to SoHo and the East Village. And right out our doorstop are endless numbers of hip coffee shops (Bluestone Lane, Irving Farm, Maison Kayser, Da Capo), fine dining (Red Farm, Lincoln, Cafe Luxembourg, Oxtail, Shun Lee and Boulud Sud are our faves) and the city's best shopping, including stores you know (Vince, Lululemon, Theory, Rag & Bone) and those that only locals know -- Liana, CPW, A Tempo).

THE GARDEN: Then after a busy day, return to our quiet, tree-lined block and enjoy tea or a glass of wine in our beautiful, quiet 600 sf garden.

About Alane McNulty

My husband and I have been married and living on Manhattan's Upper West Side for 20 wonderful years! I am an artist and he is a business guy. We have 3 teens -- ages 19, 18 and 16.

We created this home for bringing family and friends together in a space that is both elegant and comfortable, light and inviting. In the warm weather, we gather in our very tranquil and private garden and in the winter around our big dining table or our comfy living room. It's all about community!

Why Alane McNulty chose Upper West Side

Our historically landmarked brownstone was built at the turn of the 19th century when people began moving uptown for more space. You have already read about our amazing location--close to culture, dining, Central Park, music, history and the B, C, 1, 2, 3 trains. In addition, we have a very special block of friendly neighbors who plant flowers together for Mothers' Day and care for each other and our neighborhood. We just listed the property in April and we look forward to sharing it with you!

What makes this apartment unique

Access to a gorgeous, lush, private, quiet 600 sf garden for lounging, a glass of wine or cup of tea or a little basketball!

Half a block from Central Park, half a block from the New York Historical Society (a gem of a museum), around the corner from the American Museum of Natural History, just a few blocks more to Lincoln Center and Symphony Space.

Easy transportation anywhere in the city! We are close to the 1,2,3,B and C trains.

Peaceful, pleasant, modern ground floor apartment right by the park

  • 5 of 5

Great location: a quiet, leafy street on the Upper West Side half a block from Central Park, one block from the museum of natural history and the subway. Hosts were welcoming, helpful and available throughout our stay. The apartment was very clean and the housekeeper tidied up several times while were were out. Kitchen appliances were excellent, although the cookware was adequate only for basic meal prep. Note that the rental includes just the bottom floor. The patio is shared and there is no access to the grill. We sometimes heard upstairs foot traffic, but not to the point of disturbance. Beds are soft, which made 3 out of the 4 of us happy. In any case we all slept well. (Note to late sleepers: the bedrooms brighten up at sunrise despite shades.) All in all, a wonderful respite after a day of sight-seeing. We would rent again.

Gorgeous Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This property was everything we could have wanted for our trip. It is the perfect location allowing us to walk so many places including the subway that is just a block or so away. Lanie's photography is stunning and was my favorite part in the whole place. The apartment has high end finishes throughout and seriously felt like a luxury hotel but with your own privacy and kitchen. Can't wait to return!

Oasis on the Upper West Side!

  • 5 of 5

Well appointed, beautiful and extremely clean apartment in a great neighbourhood, steps away from Central Park, stores and restaurants. Very quiet and peaceful property. Having access to a tranquil private garden was an added bonus. The hosts were responsive answering our questions and providing us with suggestions.

Can't wait to return!!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five - parents and three teen daughters - had a perfect stay here. The apartment is spotlessly clean with all the amenities of home. Lanie, the owner, lives upstairs and was fantastic to work with. She was welcoming and helpful from start to finish. The location is perfect, on a beautiful, safe, quiet street of charming brownstones but steps from Central Park, restaurants, stores, and subway. A great home base to explore the city. This is exactly why I love VRBO - a much more immersive, satisfying travel experience than staying in two small, expensive hotel rooms. Highly recommend and hope to come back very soon!

Amazing location and wonderful host!

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) and this apartment was perfect for us. Its was super clean, wonderfully decorated and located in a great neighborhood just a block from Central Park, the historical society (highly underrated NY Museum in my opinion) and the Natural History Museum. I also can't say enough for the hosts - they met us when we arrived to make sure we got in and settled, offered us lots of recommendations for local favorites and even helped us find a baby sitter for a night so my wife and I could have a night out by ourselves! Really cannot say enough good things about them or this rental - you'll have a great time (and make sure to say hi to Pepper the dog - my girls are still talking about what a good boy he was).
