Tranquil peaceful, in a spectacular setting. The house is set in its own 5 acre wood. It has a private heated pool, boules court, well fitted kitchen, large vaulted lounge dining room, TV, DVD player. 2 Bedrooms, the master bedroom upstairs has and en-suite shower room. The twin downstairs has plenty of storage and is next door to the family shower room. The vaulted lounge has a large manorial fire place, large family sofa, 2 comfy chairs, flat screen TV, DVD player and a large selection of DVD films and a small library of books. The dining table will comfortably seat 6 people. The kitchen is very well equipped with stainless steel cooker, a dishwasher, washing machine, micro-wave/oven/grill, toaster. Enough cutlery, plates, cups and saucers to cater for 12 people, so you do not have to do the washing up too often. Out side there is a purpose built stone BBQ, potato pit, paths have been cut through the wood to make it easy to walk. 2 tables for alfresco dining. loungers to relax
Lovely property set in fantastic grounds but cleanliness wasn't the best. Half of the lights didn't work and heated pool was cold. Great for dog lovers travelling with their pets.
If you are looking for a peaceful tranquil break with either young children or dogs then this is the place to go.
There are woods to explore with pathways, swings and seats dotted around, a lovely pond with little fish and a boat if you fancy taking having a row, there is a heated, covered plunge pool with a lovely adjoining seating area, the house itself is fully equipped with everything you could wish for - it really is an amazing find
We have flatcoated retrievers and always holiday with them, never before have we found anywhere that you can just open the door and let them go off to safely explore, swim and play to their hearts content, I am already getting asked for details of the property from members of the flatcoated retriever forum who have seen the holiday photos.
In addition to this, there is access to local British people who manage the house on hand for any queries you may have
Besides popping to the local village for provisions we just relaxed and did very little (we were too content to move) however on the days we did motivate ourselves we found a lovely beach (Pleuharnel) a wonderful lake Lac-de-Guerlain and went shopping in the town of Pontivy, all within a 50 minute drive
If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind where you can be in your own space walking in the woodland, rowing on the pond, taking a dip in the pool or sitting just listening to the birds chattering away, and have every home comfort to hand, then I would fully recommend this property
A great property in a really nice setting. We spent our time (two relaxing weeks) between exploring the local villages and chilling out on the veranda with a nice cold drink.
The house is extremely well equipped and when we were not eating in one of the fine local restaurants, we had some great BBQ's in the sun. The pool is ideal for a mid afternoon cool off and the woods proved a hit with our Jack Russell.
The local village is also well equipped in terms of shops and bars and there is no need to go any further should you not wish to.
This really was one of the most relaxing holidays I have had.
As described in the title, this place was even better in reality than the photos and description suggest. The location is absolutely beautiful. It is completely peaceful and tranquil. The only human beings you will see are the farmer and his wife, who occasionally come onto the field next door to steer the cows! Their is a lovely little pond at the bottom of the garden complete with rowing boat and huge dragonflies. There is path all around the wooded area for the kids to go exploring. The house itself is lovely and the décor is a skilful balance of rustic and contemporary. The are two modern shower rooms and two comfortable bedrooms. The downstairs has a spacious open plan layout. There is a good selection of DVDs to watch and a small library of books and there is English freesat on the TV. Although the pool is on the small side, it is perfect for the kids to chill out in after a day out. Despite the relative isolation of the place, there is still plenty to do in the surrounding area; good walks and bike rides, go-karting and 'Kingoland' amusement park ( it's no Alton Towers mind!) and 30 minutes to the coast. The local town of Plumeliau provides all the shopping amenities you will require. There is also a really helpful English couple, who live locally and manage the property on behalf of the owners should you need any assistance. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and it's not too far away either, less than 2 hours from St Malo.
Sit on the verandah looking down over the beautifully landscaped grounds to the lake and all you will hear are the chaffinches singing from the tallest trees. The peace and quiet is intense; the private woodland provides shaded walks, dotted with seats and rope swings. This is a home built with love and care, not just a holiday let. It is a very special place.
We were looking for a secluded property in beautiful surroundings and were not disappointed. This is without doubt the most beautiful property we have stayed in. It's well equipped, comfortable, and the interior has the wow factor. We really appreciated the fact that there were basics left in the kitchen such as herbs, oil, tea, coffee, tinfoil etc. the extensive DVD collection and tv with English channels was also very welcome on the evenings we stayed in. Loved the massive log burning stove too. Outside exceeded expectations too. 5 acres of mature woods with a huge pond / mini lake and row boat. When we visited the wood was full of bluebells and Lilly of the valley. There were plenty of good walks nearby, and we cycled round on the wonderful empty roads. We recommend a walk or cycle along the local canals, and a visit to the chateau in Josselin. All in all exceeded expectations and highly recommended.
Ty Bois is set in its own 5 acre wood, half mile from it closest neighbour and is surrounded by countryside. It is an ideal setting for walks, over the fields, walking or cycling by the river or canal, or on the quiet country lanes. It is about 40 mins. drive from the coast of Morbihan, with its golden sandy beaches. The nearest market town is Pontivy or the smaller town of Baud. Plumeliau has 2 supermarkets, bread and fresh fish-shop, chemist, florist and local vet. The area has numerous medieval towns, churches, châteaux, markets in various towns every day. Carnac has excellent beaches as well as the neolithic standing stones. Vannes is a beautiful medieval harbour town, good fish restaurants, great market on Saturday you can buy everything here, fresh bread, fish, local veg, cheeses, pate or gifts to take home. There is canoeing, sailing, horse riding, go karting, golf, fishing, bowling, Camours adventure forest, tennis courts, archery, all within an easy drive of the house.
Other Activities: go karting, canoeing, bike & horse rental, archery, golf,
All bedding, sheets, tea towels etc, bath and hand towels, and pool towels are supplied in with the rental cost as is the electricity, gas, wood for the fire.
We require £100 deposit when booking the house. The balance plus £200 refundable breakage charge is payable 6 weeks before the start date of the holiday. The £200 will be refund within 2 weeks provided the house is left in good order.
There are so many things to do in the area, from just relaxing by the pool, strolling through the wood, or by the river. Or if you are the energetic type with in easy reach is the go-karting, Plumeliau, canoeing, archery St Nicholas des Eaux, horse riding and 9 hole golf at Gieuzy-les-Eaux, the forest adventure park, zip wires, tree top adventures at Camours, sailing, water ski-ing, jet sking either at Lac de Guerledan. Lac du Duc or at the coast (nautismebretagne.fr) The closest beaches are in the Gulf de Morbihan and spread for miles and miles, Carnac is a good place to start with the childrens area, little white train that take you to see the standing stones. The penisula to Quiberon has long empty sandy beaches. We recomend Trinite-sur-mare for fish restuarants lunch time or evening, Vannes market on Saturday morning and the chapel of St Gildas, near St Nicholas des Eaux, all the other things are too numerous to mention but we do have brochures at the house for inspiration.
