Dolce Villa Dessimi is a beautiful stone villa located in the ideal place for total relaxation right on the beach.

Enjoy a privileged tranquil setting, being completely private but also surrounded by amenities such as boat hire and tavernas.

Dolce Villa Dessimi has been designed as, and is still primarily, a family home.

We offer a modern kitchen with ALL necessities. Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, even a Nespresso machine, for those who wish to bring their own Nespresso coffee capsules. There is a large size fridge for the family and a dishwasher for the dishes after the meals.

A wine rack is also available for storing your precious wines and enjoying them each day. 3 separate bedrooms all with reverse cycle air-conditioning and lots of built in wardrobe space, one also with a generous en-suite and the other two sharing a family style bathroom, plus a 3rd toilet with laundry facilities downstairs.

There are 2 dining areas, one internal and one external, along with a separate lounge to meet all your dining and entertaining needs. The lounge also has a sofa bed for occasions when it’s needed.

Externally you are only 3 steps from the beach in one of the best bays in Lefkada. After your swim, you can enjoy your own private sunning area with 3 sun-lounges and drinks table.

The backyard area is perfect for the kids to enjoy a game of beach paddle, once again in safety and privacy. You can also enjoy a quiet drink at sunset on the 2 love seats under the main olive tree, with a spectacular view of the picturesque Dessimi Bay and both Meganisi and Attikos Islands.

Later there are BBQ facilities including a preparation area and an outdoor sink to ensure you have it all at your fingertips. For those who like to indulge, there is a wood fired outdoor pizza oven.

With secure parking for at least 2 cars, its not just a home away from home, it’s a home plus more…..

Make Dolce Villa Dessimi your base to discover the Island and culture or let it become your headquarters of relaxation by the beach in a sun-soaked world of your own.

About Aspa Pucciarelli

We are Australian Greeks who have been holidaying here since 1993. In actual fact my father was born in the little white house next door and immigrated to Australia many decades ago.

So the Villa is more than just a holiday rental. It is our family’s holiday home and has been designed to be a home away from home.

Aspa Pucciarelli purchased this villa in 2012

Why Aspa Pucciarelli chose Lefkada

Dolce Villa Dessimi was a dream of ours for many years, and was finally realised with the completion of the house in August 2012.

What makes this villa unique

Dessimi Bay is like balm to the soul. It allows you to leave reality behind and rejuvenate and heal. From the minute you arrive you can feel you are immersed in a very special place. It soothes and relaxes.

Sitting on the tree swing listening to the waves lapping on the shore you start to believe you've found paradise.

It is certainly worth waking early and taking breakfast al fresco to catch the sun rising magnificently over the tranquil bay, spreading its light and warmth out to the mirror like sea in front of you.

Lefkada is one of the Ionian Islands, on the North West coast of Greece. To the North is Corfu, Paxos and AntiPaxos. To the South are Keffalonia and Zakinthos.

Although Lefkada is called an island, it is only 50 meters from the mainland and is accessed by a causeway and mobile bridge. The bridge is opened for 10 minutes on the hour, every hour, every day, to permit boats to pass through the channel from the open Ionian Sea to the enclosed sea between Lefkas, Meganissi and the mainland. This makes Lefkada a very easy island to access.

Lefkada town is the island’s capital and we definitely recommend a visit. There are picturesque alleys, small squares, traditional houses, elaborate belfries and paved pedestrian zones that give this town its character. The city is surrounded by a canal and a lagoon, while, farther north, lies Gyra, a thin stretch of a sandy beach forming a circle, dotted with windmills and scant vegetation. The lagoon is one of the Ionian Sea’s most significant wetlands, protected by the Ramsar Convention as a wetland of international importance. There is also an ivari, a fish farm where fish grow in their natural environment.

In and around Lefkada Town you can visit:

•The Town promenade

•Agia Mavra fort, at the town’s entrance, constructed by a Sicilian named Giovanni Orsini in 1300.

•Bosketo Park, where busts of the island’s eminent scholars are to be found.

•The pedestrian zone along the coast, lined with the younger generation’s hangouts.

•The central square with many restaurants and cafés where Agios Spyridonas church is located (late 17th c.) with an interesting iconostasis and icons.

•Kouzounteli (or Kouzoumpei) area, where age-long plane trees stand next to traditional coffee shops that serve freshly ground coffee and soumada drink made from fragrant almonds.

•The Archeological Museum. Where finds (mid-Paleolithic times - 4th c. AD) come from tombs excavated at Nydri, burial grounds of the ancient town of Lefkada, etc.

•The Public Library. There is a wide collection of printed documents and post-Byzantine icons painted in the style of the Eptanesian iconography school by eminent religious iconographers such as Doxaras, Roussos, etc.

•Charamogleios Eidiki Lefkadiaki Library (a library treating exclusively local themes) exhibiting rare books, gravures and maps. The art gallery is often the venue for painting and photography exhibitions. The library’s collection has been included in the Guiness Book of Records.

•“Pantazis Kontomichis” Folk Art Museum. Exhibits include a wide and rare collection of items related to local everyday life and work.

•The Phonograph-Memorabilia Museum whose exhibits include old phonographs, vinyl records, decorative antique items, old banknotes etc.

•The agelong Elaionas (Olive Grove).

•Megalos Avlaimonas and Mikros Avlaimonas wetlands, two natural-habitat fish farms near the city.

•The windmills at Gyra. OR

•You can sit in a Cafe and watch the world go by.

Events - Lefkada also has a number of events throughout the year.

•International Folklore Festival. Since 1962, bands and artists from all over the world meet in Lefkada every August and exchange the product of their cultural and artistic folklore in the fields of dancing, music, and traditional heritage.

•The Discourse & Art Festival. Is organised by the Cultural Centre of Lefkada and involves theatrical and musical events, exhibitions, conferences, and poetry nights. It is one of Greece’s oldest cultural institutions along with the Athens Festival.

•Wine festival that takes place in Sfakiotes Municipality on Frya Square, around the historic Frya Well.

•The traditional Greek wedding Festival in Karya (August 11th), is a recreation of a traditional greek wedding and a great night out with lots of dancing to the early hours.

Activities - for you to enjoy

•Swimming - Around Lefkada town, you can swim at Kastro, Gyra, Myloi, and Agios Ioannis Antzousis. Or if you have a car you can discover amazing beaches almost everywhere on the island. Where the western side has spectacular open ocean beaches such as Porto Katsiki, against a cliff face backdrop. Remember cliffs means stairs, so another option is to take a guided boat tour tot these spectacular beaches. There are many to choose from and depart daily from Nidri.

•Visiting the sea caves. Kalamos and Kastos isles are a short distance from Lefkada town, and can boast beaches and sea caves of great beauty.

•Bicycling; the town of Lefkada as well as the nearby coastline are ideal for a bicycle ride. Go round the lagoon, following the exceptional scenic route: Agia Mavra – Gyra – Myloi – Ai Giannis – Lefkada.

Sports

•Kite surfing in Myloi beach.

•Mountain biking: Lefkas is over 70% mountainous and said to be one of the best mountain biking spots in Europe. The island’s tall, green mountains are criss-crossed by routes and trails that are ideal for this sport. Rent your mountain bike in Lefkada town.

•Paragliding (parapente) over Kathisma beach.
