Our family stay in Spetses was as smooth and fun as planned. House was nice, clean and practical. Full of commodities and the best of views. Everything is close by and the bus stop is right in front of the house so you can go anywhere. It helps though if you rent a bike or an ATV in order to move around the island if you are bored to wait for the bus or if you don't have the energy to walk everywhere as there are many steps and uphills all around the island. There's a mini market very close to the house and his owner and family are very nice and accommodating. Beaches in the area are clean, quiet and have the best of waters. Spyros, our host was very accommodating, always reachable and helpful. Not only with matters of the house, but with his knowledge of the island. My family and me cannot recommend this property enough and can't wait to our next summer in Spetses!
The villa is perfectly placed in ligoneri, magnificent views of the sparkling Aegean from the balcony allow you to relax and enjoy your stay. The house is well maintained and easily accommodates 4/5 people. Spyros is very helpful and makes sure all is organised for your visit - and happy to advice re transport local amenities etc.
Beaches are easily reached just down the hill. Well worth a trip to Spetses
The property was charming, well-kept and clean, with a fabulous view of the sea. The local couple responsible for the house, who run the nearby mini-market were charming, friendly and generous, as were many people we met on Spetses. The island is beautiful, and the walk into town extremely pleasant (in summer there is a bus).
The house was built with care and consideration for style. It is perfect for two people, but the second bedroom would be cramped for adults. The nearby beach is a delight.
My spouse and I had the privilege of staying in this beautiful home for three months this past summer. We frequently travel to destinations all over the world, and can honestly say that Spetses is among the most quiet, serene, and beautiful places that we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Since our visit, we often reminisce of the experiences we had on this beautiful island: swimming in the sparkling clear water, breezy evening walks under the moonlight, the wonderful seafood, and the friendly locals. We will certainly be returning to Spetses, and when we do, this rental house is certainly our first choice for accommodation.
It is difficult to describe how delighted we were when we first arrived at this residence. It had been a very long journey, and we had very little sleep the night before. Upon unlocking the door and clicking on the lights, we immediately knew that we had made the right choice. We were overwhelmed with a sense of welcome and comfort. There is a warmth to this residence that immediately puts one at ease. It is not a typical vacation rental home. (We have stayed in so many.) Rather, it is obvious upon entering and walking through each room, that this is a place that is truly dear to someone. And, it is a privilege to have had the opportunity to share in this experience.
Unfortunately, the character limitation for this textbox does not provide adequate space to describe all of the positive attributes for this accommodation. (But, I will try:)
The house has everything that you could possibly need during a stay, and so much more. The kitchen is fully functional. There are two bathrooms and two bedrooms, both very nice. Open the doors to the balconies, and a very pleasant breeze that smells of pine, orange, and jasmine runs throughout the house, both upstairs and downstairs. A magnificent sunrise can be viewed from either balcony each morning. (Not a day passed that I did not spend with a hot cup of coffee, watching the storm of colors rise on the horizon.) A five minute walk, and you are on a quiet pebble beach, with crystal clear water lapping at your feet. Remain until evening, and view a sunset that you will never forget.
The house is comfortable and clean, the architecture is reminiscent of an older time yet solid to today's standards. The furnishings are very unique and personable.
A small market selling fresh vegetables and hot bread is only a few paces away.
*out of room - in short, 5 stars!*
I stayed in the house for 2 weeks with my husband in 2002. It was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations I have ever had. The house is airy and full of light. Spacious and very comfortable. I liked being able to stroll to the beach in five minutes, and I loved the views on the sea from the two balconies. The house was very large and clean, and fully equipped. I really loved Spetses!
We stayed three weeks in the house end September/begin October. The view from the large balcony is really amazing, you can even watch the sunrise from the couch inside when you want. The house itself worked well for us, three adults and two small children, although the second bedroom is a bit small and the furniture is a bit outdated. There is a small mini-market nearby, and the very friendly and helpful owners did everything they could for us to make our stay even more enjoyable. There are several beaches nearby, two within ten minutes by foot. One organised one with a beach bar, and one more deserted, beautiful 'natural' beach with hardly any people there. You have to walk up and down hill all the time, and up many stairs, but this caused no real problem, even with two small children (you can also take a taxi up to the house). The village is a bit far away, about halve an hour by foot, but it is a nice stroll, and again there are taxi's too. I can only recommend the beautiful Island aswell as the house. The owner is very helpful aswel..
