An Unforgettable opportunity to experience Barcelona staying in a charming 17th century building once a palace.

This Unique 2 en-suite bedrooms apartment has lots of history in it. It has been renovated in 2012 by an extremely sensitive architect that mixed the old art of the building with comfortable areas that are going to make your vacation very special.

Each bedroom has a very comfortable and top quality queen bed. One master bedroom has two very artistic handmade bed side tables done with the original hydraulic tiles of the flat. It also has a lounge area with sofa.

The bathrooms are a state of art. One with an amazing rock made washing hands basin and exposed stonewalls.

You have also your fully equipped kitchen to cook as a chef. It has dishwasher and first class electrical appliances. The living room can accommodate two extra people on its sofa bed. There is a large refurbished table that seats 6 people and a very nice wing chair next to the fire place. We also have here two additional tables made with the original hydraulic tiles that once where covering the floors of this unit.

The apartment is located in a narrow cosy and safe street in el Barri del born (quarter) half block from the famous Palau de la Música Catalana (Music Palace), Santa Caterina Market, the Cathedral and the Museo Picasso and just 5 minutes on foot to Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas and Santa Maria del Mar church. You just need to cross Via Laietana to be in the Gothic quarter where you can have some yummy Spanish tapas and walk a few blocks up to visit the charming Art Nouveau buildings of Gaudí. It’s ideal for vacations or business.

Great location!

Excellent location - close to tourist sites, metro, hop on hop off bus, local tour agencies, restaurants, grocery stores, markets, restaurants, shopping and coffee shops. The hosts were wonderful and offer additional concierge services. The apartment had all you needed to cook some meals in house. The walls were a little thin but that’s to be expected in older buildings. The benefits of the location and being in a neighborhood was worth it. We recommend this property and hope to return!

The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed. The location was excellent.

Coffee shops, taxi stands and grocery stores were abundant and close. We ate at a fabulous restaurant called Cera 23...one of our best meals in Spain. Apartment is within walking distance of the Gothic Quarter where lovely little art and jewelry shops abound.

Great location

On our arrival the owner was there to meet and orientate us to the apartment. The apartment is clean and spacious for four people; it has a good mix of modern and preserved character. The kitchen includes the essentials and everything is in good working order. The bedrooms and beds are comfortable and the opening windows allow for fresh air and viewing the streets.

The stairs to the upper level were not a problem for our family. The stairwell is dark and the lights are on timer switches which are not conveniently located. The bright flashlight on the cellular phone came in handy to navigate the dark stairwell until we found the wall switch.

We recommend this apartment for those who want to stay in walking distance to the all the sites, bustle, and metro.

Perfect stay in Barcelona

Great location, walkable to everything and a taxi stand a block away if you want to grab a cab, fantastic market 1 block away, beautiful accomidations. The 2 flight walk up is no problem unless you need handicap accessiblity. Perfect for 2 couples. There is a coffee machine so you don't need to rent the Nespresso offered, kitchen was enough well stocked. Julio was very responsive to our needs. Do not hesitate to book this lovely apartment! Would absolutely stay here again. Quiet in the apartment and has AC in case you need it.

Tranquil comfort in the heart of Barcelona-

This apartment is extremely well located, right off Via Laietana a major avenue where taxis are readily available. It is walkable to many of Barcelona's top attractions. We even walked back "home" from La Sagrada Familia. Though it is somewhat smaller than it appears on the website photos, the layout is functional. The two equally sized bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms are separated which enhances privacy. Ideal for two couples traveling together. The decor is pleasant. The bathrooms are particularly unique. While we didn't do much in the kitchen, it was modern and functional. The smart television allowed us to utilize an HDMI cable to project onto the screen from an iPad. This compensated nicely for the lack of English language television. There are convenient shops for groceries and Cappuccino, an upscale coffee shop on the corner. The one drawback is the lack of lift which is not uncommon in historic buildings. The forty two steps which narrow as they climb would not be a challenge for younger or more fit travelers. Eddie, greeted us charmingly and assisted us with our luggage for a small fee which we had agreed to in advance. An inconvenient delayed departure transfer was the only glitch.

Nice place in perfect location. For shopping and restaurants.

Apartment is neat and clean with all necessary amenities. Location is great: close to Las Ramblas, the metro and Plaza Catalunya. TV and wifi are spotty, as others have mentioned, but not so bad as to be a major nuisance. Area is relatively quiet, although a few late night stragglers in the alley below (3 floors) can sometimes be heard. There is no elevator, so prepare to lug suitcases up tight stairwell. Again, no big deal and part of the trade off for being in a nicer older building. Overall, the space is recommended.

There are many restaurants, cafes and bars close by. you also have a local stall Market (Santa Caterina Market) and the famous Art Nouveau Palau de la Musica Catalana (Catalan Music Palace). the most important sightseeing's are on walking distance (The Cathedaral,Picasso Museum, Santa Maria del Mar Church, Barcelonta fisherman's quarter, Catalunya Sq, Paseo de Gracia with all the nice Art Nouveau houses...)
