A Capitol Place apartment, can be rented as a long term rental, when available.
A Capitol Place is a privately entranced, completely renovated five-room apartment. It is the entire lower level of our renovated century old Victorian town house located in the historic district of Capitol Hill, in a well established and friendly neighborhood just off Lincoln Park. It is within easy walking distance of the US Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, Congressional Buildings, the Eastern Market and Union Station Metrorail (subway) stops and attractions, and it is one block from the City Bus lines. From the Capitol, it is about a ten to fifteen minutes walk to reach the Smithsonian Mall and its Museums. The apartment's downtown neighborhood location, convenient to the monuments, memorials, and museums, as well as to government and business, is equally appealing to the tourist and to the business traveler.
The historic neighborhood is home to Eastern Market, which is a landmark in itself and has been operating for over 100 years. There are second and third generation family operated open food stalls inside and on the weekends it has an outdoor flea and antique market, a farmers market, and an arts and crafts market. Capitol Hill with its town homes with flower filled front yards, and its tree-lined streets with interesting and unique shops and neighborhood cafe and restaurants, offers a friendly, small town flavor and atmosphere, yet it is right in the heart of downtown, Washington, DC.
I love hosting people in my homes in DC. My brothers and I have been providing vacationers comfortable accommodations since 2011. I wanted to create a special business handling exceptional and interesting properties. It is my goal to provide properties that create a magical and whimsical setting while you are in Washington, yet provide the services people need that have busy lives that follow them when they travel ...
Cliff Palermo purchased this apartment in 2012
This location is full of History and is at the seat of world power. It allows easy access to the great historical sights of Washington as well as the business center.
This particular property provides a wonderful experience for someone that really wants to experience a Washington neighborhood and a decidedly American way of life. Many people have stayed at this property from around the world and have been charmed by the special jewel that it is.
Perfect for our family of four. Two great places nearby to visit during your stay: Bayou Bakery and Teds both within walking distance.
I stayed here for a few days over the Christmas holidays. It was a warm, welcoming, quiet and comfortable stay. It is an older property, though well kept up, but there are some small quirks - heat, light switches and keys all took a bit of figuring out.
We stayed here over Thanksgiving - and I was responsible for several meals and parts of meals while in DC. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped for all my recipes - it was so helpful to have the kitchen so well stocked with cooking tools.
The property is a great location for us - near our daughter and also many of our favorite places - Eastern Market, Lincoln Park, and several restaurants on 8th Street. The property managers are great to work with - no problems with security or parking (we did already have a parking permit from our daughter.) I would highly recommend this convenient Capitol Hill property!
Great location - 15 minute walk to the Capitol, close to the Metro stop, and Lincoln Park. Much more city ambiance than staying at a hotel.
From arriving Cliff was welcoming us and care about us by email. Great place with everything was mention. Easy to go around. Thank you
Stayed for a week as part of a longer holiday - self, wife & adult daughter. We had previously been staying in hotels and this was planned as a bit of a change as we were in DC for a full week. Firstly the booking process and all the instructions on accessing the property were clear and easy to follow. The apartment is in a basement so there is not much natural light. But it is well equipped and maintained, including the kitchen (which we didn't use to its full capabilities). One unexpected omission was that there were no laundry facilities in the apartment, but we found a coin operated laundry two blocks away, so all was well. Bus stops and Eastern Market metro station are within easy walking distance - wouldn't recommend a car as parking is limited and expensive. It's in a fairly quiet residential area. Supermarket, pharmacy and quite a few restaurants are all available within walking distance but not immediately obvious (Google map search helped here!). Would be happy to stay here again if visiting DC.
