So close to the water you feel like you are staying on it!
Of all the homes available on Pleasure Island, this home is unique as to proximity to the water. No mangroves to block your view, it is so close to the water you really can fish off the porch! If you are two couples looking for the perfect home, we can set it up with two king beds (regular is one king/2 twin). This elegantly furnished home is decorated in West Indies style (aka Tommy Bahama) and includes the use of an infra-red grill. (Propane Grills are not allowed by the Association).
We have had a home on the island since 2005. We live in the Ft. Lauderdale area and come to the island as often as we can. We own three homes on the island so that tells you how much we love it!
Randy Mills purchased this cabin in 2005
This home was recently purchased by us because it has a great location on the island.
Looking to relax...this is the place. Looking to view nature....this is the place. Looking for outstanding customer service....this is the place. House was open, spacious, clean and had everything you needed. Only thing lacking was having front porch\deck being screened in. Once sun set the mosquitoes drove you inside. Although island is only 5 acres really never ran into others living\renting there except at pool which was perfectly heated. View of nature from front porch was excellent. Saw dolphins, eagle, osprey, ibis, pelican, and jumping mullet. Concierges, Brian and Cindie, were wonderful - friendly and always available for boat ride on\off the island. Superb service.
We rented three units on the island for our party of 11. It was great. Very quiet and low key. The cottages were great; roomy, well done and appointed and clean. The services were excellent. Mark, the island manager, was great. He shuttled us to dinner several nights and was available an a moment's notice night and day!
Fishing great. Lots of dolphins and manatees. Pool/club area very nice and refreshing.
Lots of great local food! Definitely will come back in years to come.
We stayed for four weeks in this gorgeous house on Pleasure Island. It was like stepping into a magazine! The weather was fantastic....and we were able to see dolphins and manatees going by our front door. The concierge service was the greatest ever....with Mark, Troy and Sandy always at our beck and call. We often had them drop us off by boat at Camellia's Restaurant....where the food was simply awesome...the best we had in Florida! My husband spent most of his time on the water trying to catch fish and he also had lots of help from the management. The people are so friendly, yet don't get in your space. We went on several kayak trips out amongst the 10,000 islands and enjoyed every minute of it. Yes, Spirit the cat was a great companion down at the dock. We made use of the gym equipment up at the common room and also the lovely pool. Linda and Randy were beyond accommodating in making us feel welcome.......thanks so much to you two! You have a great place there! Only problem is, my husband wants to come back with his fishing buddies next time so he can fish 24/7......men!
We enjoyed our week stay very much. You'll find one of a kind scenery from every angle. The concierge were very nice and knowledgable about the area. We rented a boat and took a ride to Indian Key, where the dolphins swam right next to us. Caught plenty of fish snook, redfish, black drum and many more...also hooked up on a 6 foot shark, my tackle was a little to light to handle it. But it was still fun fighting it. Fought a giant stingray for about 45mins, finally landed and released. Night fishing off the dock was a blast too, the sailfin catfish fight like crazy. And you never know what you might pull in. Sprite the island cat was a pleasant bonus to our stay. He was out every night fishing with me on the dock. And greeted us every morning on the porch. Food at Camellia's Street Grill was 5 star everytime we ate there. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you Randy & Linda Mills for the opportunity to stay at your island home!
Watch the manatees and dolphin swim by from your porch. Rent a boat or take the Park Service Ferry for some of the most spectacular sunsets over the gulf. Most of all, just sit back and enjoy nature up close!
