sleeps 11 price $250.00

We are located halfway between Oklahoma City and Dallas in the beautiful Arbuckle Mountain area, close to the Lake of the Arbuckles and the Chickasaw Recreation area.

Our home is located in a wooded area on a dead end street. From this location you can see the lake from the back deck when the leaves fall

The house is approximately 1,500 sq ft. The lot slopes down so there is lower floor. The upper floor is designed for (but not certified)my handicapped originally built for my son and his wife who needed a scooter. As you arrive you will notice the handicap ramp leading to the upstairs living area.

On entry is a hall to the main living, dining, kitchen area. On this floor is also a bedroom with a queen size bed and a closet. There is full bathroom with shower, towels, soap and a handicap commode. The shower has a 4 inch step. The bathroom is accessible to the lounge area in the living, dining area. There are tables and chairs for 11 with one highchair. The full kitchen features two refrigerators with ice-maker, stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher, and several small appliances. The lounge area is equipped with chairs and sofa.

A spiral staircase leads to the lower floor. In the first room are two single beds which serves as couches with TV and lounge chairs.

The first of bedrooms has three twin beds. Next is a full sized bedroom with a queen sized bed with a closet. There is a full sized bath with a shower and a half bath. The laundry area is equipped with a trundle bed and a washer and 2 dryers.

Each floor has its own heat/ac.

The upper deck is a deck on three sides with lounge chairs and a propane grill. Parking surrounds the house.

Family reunions are our specialty. This home sleeps 11. Our other home next door sleeps 13. These homes together provide accommodations to 24 guests, plenty enough for most family reunions.

About John and Jane Adair

I John Adair M.D Ret. planned to retire here. After he lost his wife he moved to Ok City. Got remarried to his wonderful wife Jane, but recently passed away himself. He and his wife converted both houses for Guest Houses in 2002. It was their joy to uniting families for personal interaction rather than electronic devices.

Mrs. Jane Adair is still very active and volunteers for many organizations.

In the future, Jane wants to travel with her family and therefore turned over management of the homes to me, Rosie. After immigrating to the USA, we managed our own company for approximately 9 years. Thereafter, I was the office manager for a company in Sulphur, and then managed the hotel portion, including the restaurant at the Lifestyle Center of America. After it was sold to the Chickasaw Nation, I assisted them in the conversion to their needs for approximately 1 1/2 years. Since then I have been involved in the management of vacation homes in the Arbuckle Mountain Area.

John and Jane Adair purchased this house in 2003

Why John and Jane Adair chose Sulphur

This home is the perfect retreat for larger families or groups that want to get together to enjoy each other's company and nature. The close location to the Chickasaw Recreation and Turner Falls Park area as well as Arbuckle and Veterans Lake offers guests to participate in many outdoor activities without having to travel far.

What makes this house unique

The location in a national park area gives a natural attraction for all ages. The amenities provided by the local directors seem to be unlimited such as nature as intended originally. The park area is managed expertly. The lake level varies giving a ever changing shore line. The anglers are reporting the Croppy will go into the shallow waters in the neck of the lake. The Bass will watch at the entrance in deeper water and feed on them.

The Park Area attracts many additions for Dining, Gaming. swimming, boating, loafing socializing, revitalizing family and friends relations.

All of this is available yet The Rejoining Of distant relatives and friends is made financially possible as the Oklahoma city group can meet the

Dallas branch half way. Perhaps mother will fix that old favorite meal in our well equipped kitchen. Who would like to guess the cost of feeding 23 people at a restaurant with tip. We have planned for all ages. The #2 house is accessible for a handicapped person however it is not certified as handicapped accessible. My Son and his wife both on scoters lived there for 5 week while their house was remodeled with no problems.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Jane and John, In preparing for our up-coming family reunion , I checked out 85% of the properties available in the Davis/Sulphur/Ardmore area and found yours to be vastly superior to the others. The care you take of your houses, the amenities, the pride of ownership is very evident. The fact that the houses are next door to each other made it so very convenient for our family of 23 to be housed in comfort. YES, we will be back and will highly reccommend your houses to our friends.

Great place to stay and HC accessable

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed the stay. We had a guest in a wheelchair who was able to comfortably enjoy everything. They had clean towels, and bedding, plenty of pillows and soft blankets. The kitchen was fully stocked and they had a Mr Coffee if you brought coffee to make. We overpacked just in case, but they have provided just about all you could need. They also had washing machines if you needed them. We stayed in the winter, but it would be beautiful in summer or fall. Owners were so nice and very thoughtful in how they keep the place in good repair.

Great family house!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time with our family staying at your lake house. There was plenty of room and things to do for people from ages 5 to 72! The property was very clean and well maintained. There were plenty of supplies and all kinds of toys for the kiddos. The Adairs were nothing but friendly, nice and hospitable. Definitely will be back on our next trip to Lake Arbuckle!

Wonderful Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

The Adairs are exceptionally thoughtful hosts and have provided absolutely everything that their guests will need during their stay. It is especially wonderful that there are two Adair lakehouses right next door to one another. We rented one for an entire week and the other for the weekend, then had a family reunion. It is a beautiful, peaceful area with plenty of things for folks of all ages. We entertained a variety of family members from infants to grandparents; this cabin is accessible for those with disabilities as well. Everyone was pleased!

Perfect Get-away

  • 5 of 5

My family wanted to have a little vacation, but still within driving distance to our home. Davis, OK offered many inticing activities, National Park, cultural center & wild animals all within a one & a half hour drive! Our granddaughter delighted in jumping off a waterfall @ the Chickasaw National Park, participating in the Stomp Dance @ the Chickasaw Cultural Center and seeing all the animals @ the Arbuckle Mountains Wilderness! We delighted in having such a FABULOUS lake house to use as our home base. Everything we could have wanted was already there! So many beds to choose from! The kitchen had every amenity we could think of....blender, crock pot & gas grill! The home owners were gems to work with. So glad we chosed this little spot to spend our mini-staycation!! Oh, and the local winery "The Rusty Nail" was a treat!!
