About Don Devore
Don Devore was one of the original Alaska 59ers who traveled by motorized wagon train to Alaska in 1959 to homestead in the rugged wilderness, five miles north of Talkeetna. Homesteading was tough but rewarding. Don's family learned self-reliance, and survived on the barest of necessities. Families and friends grew close, helping each other in hard times and sharing what they had.

The cabin is off the beaten path in the country. Very clean and comfortable. We cooked there and even had to go into the creek running behind the cottage to retrieve a football. Don was very accommodating. We slept four people comfortably-ages ranging from 15 to 80.
We want to thank Kurt for his nice review of our cabin and also that they were wonderful guests. We enjoyed having the Potadie’s stay with us during their visit to Talkeetna. They were very respectful of our property and left everything clean and neat.
Perfect little cabin for a getaway!
It was a perfect weekend getaway. Nice and quiet out of town and Don was an excellent host. Would definitely do it again!
