A DREAM VACATION!
Fabulous house, location, view and climate.
Our family - 3 generations - 10 persons have spent a week around Christmas in Casa Residential by hole 11 on Tecina Golf Course.
The spacious house provides everything a big family can wish for, and the garden offers shaded quiet places with the big pool area as the natural gathering point. The view from here is breathtaking, the wellkept and varied golfcourse, edged by the ocean, and the towering Teide in the background.
We were welcommed by a huge bowl of local fruit, provided by Shirly and her husband on arrival.
As residents we were graciously allowed walking and running on the golf trails, and after closing time the beautiful, wide area offered outstanding scenery. Not least a 180 degree access to a unique star show, accompanied by a nightly frog chorous.
The supermarkets have limited variety, but the house has everything necessary for homecooking.
Santiago has many fine restaurants, we found Junonia superb, and felt disappointed, when they closed for the holydays. The Red Tomato next door was open, and while we expected pizza and other fastfood, we were served the most delicious dishes with a personal twist. And the most attentive and pleasant waiter, we have met.
We wish you and your family a very happy New Year
We just spent a lovely week here as a family with 6 adults, a five year old and a baby. This property is very much as it appears it the pictures. The living areas are spacious and attractively decorated. The bedrooms were comfortable with lots of storage and everything was clean and tidy.
The garden was lush and well maintained and the pool area was fantastic. The pool isn't heated but this is okay as long as you have a hot day.
Shirly provided great customer service, especially as our arrival was delayed and she had to wait a while for us. She was helpful and explained the local area well.
It is a five minute drive to Playa Santiago where there is a good selection of restaurants and beaches and we found the rest of the island fairly well accessible, although the snaking roads up and down the mountains are unavoidable!
I would definitely recommend this property and I'm glad we found it.
We rented the top part of the property for 10 days in January 2011. It is a wonderful house with an amazing panorama view over the golf course and the ocean. The interior is tasteful and over all it has very good standard. There is also a nice fireplace which we used several times. The garden is very beautiful with a lot of character and has a broad variety of trees, plants and flowers. The house lies secluded on a private road in the middle of the Tecina golf course. It has no direct neighbours. It is a 3 minute walk to the pool area which one shares with who ever stays in the main property and/or the second rental property. We shared it with the property owner during our stay and it did not bother us at all. The pool is about 12 meters long and heated with solar panels. From the pool area there is a spectacular panorama view over the rural valley, beaches and ocean. Using a private trail, it is a 15 minute hike down to the beach below. You need a car to go to the stores and restaurants. However, the harbour of Playa Santiago is only a 5 minute drive. Shirly is the property representative. She is very helpful and only a phone call away.
Generally it is an exclusive property and I would be surprised if one can find anything similar in the area or the rest of the Island.
We rented this villa for our honeymoon and travelled with a small dog. We all had a fantastic time, the villa was great but the most amazing this were the surrounding gardens and fruit trees as well as the privacy. We were treated very well, and had all the home comforts at the villa.
We will most definitely be looking to go again as soon as possible!

Tecina is one of the most spectacular courses in Europe, occupying a sensational cliff top setting within a former banana plantation on the south side of the small island of La Gomera. Laid out by Martin Ebert when he was part of the Donald Steel design company, the course opened for play in 2003 and its 18 holes are laid out above ‘la lomada Tecina’.
Indeed, the fairways at Tecina are routed in a most ingenious way, slaloming down a hillside with a drop of over 500 feet between the first hole at the top and final hole at the bottom, next to the clubhouse.
Indigenous plants, shrubs and cacti have been planted over substantial swathes of the property and these extravagant botanical arrangements – along with wonderful views of the Atlantic and Mount Teide on nearby Tenerife – present a beautiful backdrop when playing at Tecina.
It’s not often a course can justifiably lay claim to possessing a trio of signature holes but Tecina certainly can and downhill shots played to the exposed greens at holes 4, 10 and 12 are golfing highlights during a round here that will live long in the memory.
The club hosted the Canary Islands Championships in 2005 and more recently, Welshman Rhys Davies claimed first prize in the inaugural Fred Olsen Challenge de España event on the European Challenge Tour in September 2009.
