PEACEFUL PARADISE

  • 5 of 5

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Paradise Found on Lake Rousseau. The house was an inviting environment with the open layout and modern kitchen. The beds and the bathrooms allowed our party of seven plenty of room to have privacy. We spent several early mornings enjoying the large screened in porch or the peaceful covered dock for our breakfast. We have several photos of the birds, turtles and foliage for our memories.

One of the best adventures we all could participate in was the Rainbow River Tubing. We enjoyed this so much as a large family group that we actually did the tubing twice! The Rainbow River is so sparkling clear and it is a refreshing temperature on a hot day in July

We visited our elderly relatives in Ocala which was only a 20 minute drive. We loved that we were so close, but also away from the hustle and bustle of town at Lake Rousseau.

All of us, especially the grandkids, loved the pool that we had all to ourselves. It just made one more reason not to stay in a big resort hotel.

We had all the amenities of home that was necessary to make this an extremely easy, comforting and peaceful vacation. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and accommodating. We recommend this property for your next vacation.

Terrible

Don't stay here.. the condition of the boat stall is too shallow to park your boat at and is covered in hydrilla (weed that gets stuck in your motors)!

Don't recommend in the least.. not worth the money

Owner's Response: Dear Kristy, I'm sorry to hear that you felt your boat would not navigate the cove or fit in the boathouse, you did not mention if you tried or was this determination strictly a visual opinion? As I mentioned to you during your stay our two prior guests brought boats and utilized the cove, lake and boathouse just fine. I contacted Bruce at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission immediately after receiving your concerns regarding the condition of the cove and Lake Rousseau. He personally visited the cove by boat, called and told me that the cove and areas of Lake Rousseau are treated regularly to control invasive aquatic plants, and was treated with the herbicide Hydrothol a month prior in June. He also indicated when Hydrilla dies it can break apart and float to the surface and being a Florida Lake with a large cove, the wind direction and speed can affect what floats into and out of the cove. He also stated the access to our boathouse through the cove from the lake is navigable! During our conversations prior to your booking we could have discussed your boat and its requirements. Before it became a vacation rental home I kept my 18 ft. Bass Boat and 20 ft. Pontoon Boat in the boathouse with no issues. Also, I’m sorry to see that you rated us on your perception of the cove with no mention of our lovey home and all the amenities you enjoyed during your full stay including the pool. As a side note Lake Rousseau is one of the finest fishing lakes in central Florida, fish love the underwater grasses and cover which makes it a Bass Fishing Tournament lake!

Great stay. Lots of wildlife and the scenery was inspiring. Clean and comfortable.

The location is perfectly set between Dunnellon and Crystal River. There is lots to do and see all around the area. We had plenty of space in the house. The bedrooms were comfy and adequate. House was clean and the pool and grounds were well kept. Had a great time swimming and sitting on the the large back screened porch watching all the birds. Wasn't able to fish off the dock. The lake grasses and other plant life has grown up around the dock. You can feed the smaller fish that are around the dock. The neighbors were friendly and helpful with advice. It was very peaceful and we got a much needed restful stay. Both of us couples agreed this would be a vacation we would repeat. Thanks Karl and Debbie for the use of your getaway.

Peaceful Retreat

  • 4 of 5

The house was clean and well maintained. The view was spectacular. I spent my mornings on the dock with a cup of hot tea watching the wildlife. There was a playful otter and four foot long alligator that like to sun himself on a log. The pool was nice but being late March it was too cold to swim in. My only con would be the couches and queen bed. They were both uncomfortable.
