About the property

3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom + Outdoor Shower, walk to Beach and Village

This is one half of a Cape-Style side-by-side duplex house located at end of dead end street just a 3-minute walk to the beach! First floor has 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room with cable TV, full bath, and laundry. BR 1 has full bed, BR 2 has two twins. Second floor is one large open room with 4 twin beds, television with vcr/dvd and sitting area, plus 1/2 bath. Very comfortable for 2 families or one large or extended family. The unit has its own private backyard with large picnic table, bbq grill, outdoor shower and shed. Kitchen is fully equipped and we have a selection of games and movies for entertainment. But the best part about this property is its location. It is located at end of quiet dead end street only .2 mile from Surf Drive Beach. Surf Drive Beach is one of Falmouth's nicest longest beaches, on the route of the Falmouth Road Race. Fully staffed with lifeguards and equipped with changing rooms and showers. Great concession stand serving snacks and lunch. When you're done with the beach, take a 10 minute walk along picturesque Shore Road into the Village and get an ice cream, a drink or dinner at any of the many restaurants in this quaint historic village. Grab breakfast in the morning at the diner or croissants from the bakery. Family friendly films shown on the common weekly at dusk. Or attend the weekly outdoor concert on the green. Arrange for a whale watch or excursion to Martha's Vineyard from the harbour, less than one mile from this property. If you like to bike, the property is right around the corner from the Shining Sea Bikepath, a 12 mile bike path running from Woods Hole to North Falmouth. The portion between our property and Woods Hole is all along the ocean. If you feel like taking a drive, head out to any of the many national seashore beaches of Cape Cod. This property is close to everything and will be enjoyed by beach lovers, shoppers, families with small children, families with teenagers, and extended families of all configurations.

About Owner/Manager

We bought this property after looking around for a long time for a place we could enjoy with our teenaged children. We live in Massachusetts and it is close enough for us to enjoy on weekends. We fell in love with Falmouth Village and the beach and feel so fortunate to have found such a perfect spot.

Owner/Manager purchased this house in 2012

Why Owner/Manager chose Falmouth

Every town on the Cape has a slightly different feel, and we've enjoyed many of them over the years. When it came time to buy a place, we knew we wanted to be in Falmouth and near Falmouth Village. The fact that we found a place that is also so close to the beach was just fabulous luck!

Perfect location & great Cape beach house

  • 4 of 5

My family - me, my husband, his mom, our daughters aged 7 and 2 - stayed here for a week this summer. The best part is the location - so close to the beach, and less than a mile walk down the sidewalk to downtown Falmouth for shops, dining, or drinks. The house is super clean and decorated perfectly for the cape. It was well stocked too. The owner was very responsive via text, which was nice. The outdoor space is private at end of cul de sac and fenced from neighbors, with a gorgeous deck, outdoor shower, gas grill, picnic table, clothes line, and fully stocked shed with beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc. If we were to change anything it would be air conditioning downstairs (it was sooo hot this week), sharper/more knives in the kitchen, and NESN on cable to watch the Red Sox.

Had a wonderful time at the cottage. PERFECT location to town, beach, all cape sites. The outdoor space was very secluded and private with all amenities: fire pit, picnic table, furniture, grill, etc,. The outdoor shower was also a great hit. The only thing that keeps me from giving it full 5 stars are a few condition issues. The bathroom was completely refinished - beautiful, but a little attention needs to the kitchen. The stove and frig were in very sad condition. The kitchen was however fully stocked with dishes, glasses, cooking and utensils. (Great tea kettle!) Furniture was a bit 'rental property' rather than 'income property.' This is nothing however that would stop me from making reservations again. Such a beautiful area, and the owners were extremely gracious! Provided plenty of information about the area. Fantastic! Had a great time. ... also, if you enjoy feeding the birds, bunnies and squirrels, you will definitely enjoy this outdoor space.

Clean, cute, and so close to the beach and village!

  • 5 of 5

Long weekend stay with my husband and 2 teen boys. This house was adorable and very clean. Just about everything you could need, including a wonderful owner who was great at communicating with me! The outdoor shower is fabulous! So is the location. We love Falmouth, and were able to walk into the village or down to the beach easily. The only negatives are the full size bed in the master bedroom, and there’s no NESN for Red Sox fans. I knew about the bed, so it’s my fault for ignoring this fact. My husband and I are not large people, and we just couldn’t sleep together in such a small bed. He slept in the other first floor room, and my boys shared the large room upstairs. If you don’t mind this, you cannot go wrong with this rental!

Great house. Great location. Great communication.

  • 5 of 5

We (parents and two adult children) stayed at the house over a very cold weekend in late December. Everything was great. The house was warm. The master bed was very comfortable. The living room had enough space to sit around without even using the upstairs area. The TV was connected to the Internet so we could binge watch. Everything was in good shape. The place was clean.

The location is perfect. Short walk to beach (even in snow!) and short walk into center of town (maybe we will try it next time if the temp gets above 20). We spend a few weeks on the Cape in the summer and always think this area is the perfect location.

The owner communicated very well and returned our security deposit promptly.

For the summer, the house is at the end of the court, so the yard would be fairly private and not in view of neighbors.

It was a very good experience, and we would return here again.

Quaint Cape Home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Labor Day weekend and got rained in for most of our stay. This was a wonderful place to be rained into. Plenty of space in the living room to cozy up in and right near downtown Falmouth so we could go shopping/explore. A minute walk to the beach. Clean and well decorated. The owner is a lovely woman who was happy to answer any questions we had. Definitely would recommend.

A wonderful week away!

  • 5 of 5

This was a really good find for my family and me. Clean and cute with super-helpful owners. They really wanted us to have an enjoyable week away and we did. The house had everything we needed including beach toys and information about the area. Very short walk to the beach but also great access to the cute downtown area. The owner put us in contact with the rental agency for the other half of the duplex so we rented both properties and it was fantastic. We had two families in this unit and my parents and another family next door. It worked out really well. Most days we enjoyed going to the beach, town, or Woods Hole during the day and then came back, took outdoor showers, and had the kids play in the yards while someone grilled. We had dinner at the picnic table every night. After dinner we could take a nice walk through the quiet neighborhood back to the beach or take a short drive (or even walk) to the town center. I enjoyed coffee on the little deck in the mornings, too. The unit was great but the owners made it even better. I would definitely stay here again!
