Recently completely renovated and refurbished by joint owners, Dave and Debbie Barker and Lisa Lavis, Treleigh is a luxury holiday home nestled in the wonderful quayside town of Fowey. Beautifully decorated in a seaside palette of blues and whites, Treleigh is a charming Edwardian house spanning three floors and is a perfect holiday retreat for guests seeking a luxurious and relaxing break. Inside we have tried to provide all those little extras that make the difference between a good holiday and a great one. Hence you will find a welcome pack awaiting you on arrival comprised of basic essentials such as tea, coffee, milk plus sumptuous locally homemade scones with clotted cream and jam. The house has three double bedrooms (all with hand made beds and high quality mattresses), two bathrooms, a fully modernised kitchen and a light and airy living room/diner.
The kitchen and Dining area have ipod players and the house has free internet access and free full Sky package
My family plus grandparents stayed at Treleigh for a week and we were so impressed. Comfortable, clean with all the basics and luxuries you could ever need. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and there was even a highchair for the baby. We loved the location, Fowey is perfect rain or shine and it's close proximity to the Eden project and the Hidden Gardens was brilliant. Ready money beach was a safe have for the kids and the pubs and restaurants in the area are great. An unforgettable holiday, thank you so much.
We arranged to stay at Treleigh for a week with some close friends altogether 4 adults and 2 children. We had a wonderful time exploring Fowey and further afield. This house has everything you need for a relaxing week away, a real home from home. (I believe the beds here are comfier than at home though!)
We can't wait to go back.
This fabulous house in Fowey is my favourite getaway. I have been back numerous times with my young family and it just gets better! Centrally located, such beautiful views and the house itself has the most comfortable beds and mattresses I have ever experienced! The house has absolutely everything you need and caters for all ages. Love it!
The property is beautifully renovated, it is sparkly clean, tastefully decorated and each bedroom has it's unique appeal (I love the furniture, particularly the hand made beds - and have taken some Treleigh inspired decor ideas away with me). The spacious master suite has stunning views across the River. Fowey is a relaxing, sociable and tranquil town and Treleigh was the perfect resting spot after a day out in the sea breeze. Would highly recommend a visit, or two, or three a year!
What a fantastic holiday! Treleigh is a lovely house, beautifully decorated, very spacious and perfectly situated in the gorgeous harbour town of Fowey. The master bedroom is probably one of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed in - huge comfy bed and amazing views over the river. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the travel cot and highchair meant we had a lot less luggage to carry! There are lots of lovely places to eat, drink, shop, sunbathe and generally admire the lovely views in Fowey - we will be back!
This cottage was just perfect for three girlfriends to have a fabulous weekend in Fowey. The three double bedrooms meant we had a lovely room each and two bathrooms meant no fighting for the shower in the mornings! The lovely sunny sitting room was spacious, light and airy. The kitchen had everything we needed including lovely crockery and most importantly large pretty wine glasses. The welcome tray of local produce was a lovely surprise.
Our weekend included a lovely walk across to Bodinnick, a trip on the ferrry, lots of shopping in small individual shops, dinner both nights at Sam's (an absolute must - go early as no bookings taken) and lots of Daphne du Maurier. Just perfect. Just book it.
Fowey (pronounced Foy) nestles on the banks of the river Fowey between Mevagissey and Looe, around 40 miles from Plymouth. It has a population of around 2,000 and lies in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There are plenty of stylish home and clothes boutiques in Fowey, all within walking distance of Treleigh House. If you are a foodie you will be pleased to know that there are some exceptional restaurants too, which include The Old Quay House, voted Small Hotel of the Year 2008 and The Other Place (one of Rick Stein’s top five in Cornwall). The town also has a number of wonderful cafes and tea shops.
If it is pure chill you are after, why not simply spend the day on the beach, followed by a relaxing drink in one of the many traditional Cornish pubs. Whatever you choose, one thing is for certain, once you arrive, you can park your car and forget about it. Everything you need really is on your doorstep.
