Part of a XVI Cent. finely restored building, in the heart of the most central and elegant part of Venice, we propose you two lovely twin aparts, named Hydra and Aurora.
A distinctive XVI Cent. private courtyard (Corte Zorzi) allows access to the building letting them a agreable brightness within a perfect noise sheltering (really poor in pedestrian Venice and such position anyway). The location is just behind Saint-Mark square yes, but in a quiet hidden corner where just few tourists arrives. Despite to its fully central position the area is not a massive tourist path and still preserves flavours and sensations of times gone by.
Just out of the courtyard u will find a small nice venetian square, Campo San Gallo, with a pleasant open-air cafè where u can have both a coffee/drink or a light meal, and an even small charming theatre, Teatro San Gallo, where every day u could attend entertaining shows telling about the Great stories of Venice (English language).
Leaving the Campo and crossing a small bridge u will find Bacino Orseolo, the main starting point for every kind of Gondolas tours.
Finally, aparts position and features let Hydra and Aurora a perfect getaway to easily visit the whole Venice without wasting energies precious time with transfers, everything is around u.
Perfect accomodations for both self-catering and visiting Hydra and Aurora are twin de luxe aparts in the beaty hearth of Venice.
Position, quietness, features, views.
My wife and I stayed at the Aurora Apartment for 4 nights during our recent vacation in Italy and we loved having this apartment as our home away from home. It was spacious, had a small kitchenette and washer / dryer (combined in one appliance) which we did use and worked fine.
The location couldn't be better. It is a 2 minute walk to St Marks Square, yet it is in a quite little campo (courtyard). It's proximity to St Mark's makes navigating back to the apartment much easier. Just find your way back to St Mark's and you are two minutes away. The views from the windows onto the courtyard of the Campo San Gallo were beautiful. One thing to note is that there are actually two different (twin) properties - Aurora and Hydra on the same listing that are virtually the same layout and we only rented one of them. We had our choice and chose Aurora but they looked equally nice. Andrea, the owner, was easy to work with and we had no problems with the booking or check in. I would definitely like to stay here again if I ever return to Venice and will recommend it to friends and family without hesitation. There are a couple flights of stairs to climb to get to the apartment but that is normal for Venice as there are very few elevators. It was a small price to pay for a pleasant view and gave us an excuse to eat more gelato. ;-)
2 couples we rented 1 unit each. A bit more costly than a 2 bedrooms but every couple was willing to its own privacy and we also really had 2 suites, not just narrow doubles. The 2 aparts are at the same second floor of a fascinating building just behind Saint-Mark's square, same stairs, next doors. The area is (incredibly) extremely quiet, a quiet hidden corner in the hearth of Venice.
We stayed in Aurora, our guests in Hydra. We have been nicely surpriesed by the quality and taste of features and furnitures, as well as cleanliness. Beds are large and mattress comfortable, nice bathrooms, warm living with parquets and ceiling beams. Views are spectacular from every window. Good wi-fi, perfect and kind service. We had breakfast and some dinners at home toghether with our friends (good kitchen, full of basics) but we also followed the Owner's restaurants suggestions for special fish dinners, not just touristic restaurants where we also had reductions as Owner's guests. The position is fantastic for visiting, we really made the most of our short time in this beautiful and charming Town. Excellent, at least. Definiteley suggested.
I choosed this property for a romantic stay with my husband after a weekly cruise.
The advert is fully correspondent to what we found.
The apart was perfectly cleaned, well set-up and absolutely comfortable: easy access, large double bedroom (comfortable mattress and charming window’s view), functional and nice bathroom with large shower, agreable and large livingroom with small but perfectly equipped kitchen.
Parquet floors and ceiling beams let the atmosphere really warm and agreable.
Kitchen tools were abundant and pretty new so we loved to have the most part of our meals at home.
This allowed us both to enjoy the agreable venetian atmosphere of our charming accomodation and save money to also let us choose really good restaurants for our 2 perfect dinners (restaurants suggested by the Owner, great).
The apart was also equipped with a clothes washer/dryer, really useful for us.
Service was the best we found for a self-catering apart ever: we have been met at the vaporetto, lead to the apart, instructed on few apart’s features, supplied of a list of restaurants and shops in the nearby.
When we asked for additional towels we received it in a couple of hours.
Everybody was kind and on time, no unfulfilled promises.
Finally the position was the best we could ask: really few steps from Saint-Mark square but out of massive tourism, a quiet hidden corner, not to believe we were in the hearth of Venice.
Really appreciated and warmly suggested to everybody.
The apartment is spacious, quiet and near to St. Marco , the beds are o.k. but there were some problems :
Wifi never worked ( they promised to fix the problem but never managed) the kitchenette was not really clean, the coffee machine unusable (no sockets!) and pots were half-broken and very old, water in the bathroom was running only poorly, and 2 out of 4 bulbs foreseen in the mirror in the bathroom were lacking .
The apartment is in the third floor, the staircase is narrow and stairs are steep.( this is no critique but just for information)
We had paid 630€ for 3 days ( which is too much in view of the overall quality of the apartment, even in Venice), the owner refunded 75 € with regard to the inconveniences, clearly we would have preferred to pay the full price and have no problems.
Title is a new word a friend of mine recently teached me.
I think it is absolutely appropriate to describe this property.
First of all, the location: it is just behind Saint-Mark’s square, really less than 100 footsteps far.
The area is incredibly quiet (for its central location) and also really interesting.
Outisde there is a small piazza Campo San Gallo with a small theatre (or cinema we did not test it)
and cafè. Then if u cross the bridge u find lot of gondolas deposit, and u can start for gondolas tours everywhere.
We had a superb tour of Venice starting and arriving close to our accommodation.
The apart is magnific.
It is like an hotel suit with self-catering possibility.
It is extremely quiet and it has large areas, kitchen is functional with micorwaves tpaster and also
Coffee machine (but we used just moka for Italian coffee).
The bed is a normal size double bed, really comfortable, the bath is clean and comfortable.
We really appreciated the view from the bedroom window on Saint-Mark’s Belltower.
We couldn’t forget to be in the hearth of Venice.
As well as we will not forget our pleasant 5 nights in Venice.
Everything was perfect and easy, also check-in.
Thank u to the Owner Andrea.
This was our second time renting this apartment. As we were a party of 7, we rented an additional apartment (Hydra) in the adjoining building. Both apartments were exceptional - great amenities and location. The agent was prompt in meeting us and providing a very good orientation to the area. The proximity to St. Mark's Square made the apartment always easy to find in the somewhat complicated layout of Venice, and accessibility to the waterbus lines made it very convenient for getting around Venice.
Finally, two large double quality bedrooms with their own bathroom & shower IN the bedroom (like a Suite), separated by nice living and easy kitchen corner are really comfortable, both for 2 couples and families looking for a smart and really convenient accommodation.
AC, Wi-Fi and satellite TV&DVD in every bedroom, better than a 4 stars hotel!
We highly recommend this apartment and the property managers - very easy to work with.
The apart is located in a charming XV Cent. perfectly restored Venetian building, just behind Saint-Mark, in an extremely quiet position. In fact this is an hidden Venetian corner and, even if just few steps away from the celebrate Saint-Mark Square, it is out of usual massive touristic paths and still preserves flavours and sensations of times gone by.
Furthermore the building entrance is from Corte Zorzi, a beautiful XV Cent. venetian courtyard (u'll find many pics of it in the Net) sheltering the aparts from any possible noise and letting them extremely quiet and bright.
When u exit from Corte Zorzi u get in Campo San Gallo, a delicious venetian small 'Campo' with an open-air cafè and an intresting theatre (Teatro San Gallo).
Then, few steps away and u get in Saint-Mark square.
