About Dean Scholes

Dean & Christina are a couple from Manchester with 3 daughters. We bought in Cyprus as we felt it was a friendly, beautiful safe holiday destination for ourselves in retirement and our daughters families

Dean Scholes purchased this villa in 2005

Why Dean Scholes chose Pernera

It is close to the beech and the town but it is also in a residential cul de sac that is very safe for children. The pool is overlooked from most areas of the property which again made it feel safe for bringing our grandchildren.

There is a mix of Cypriot and British owners on the close, some of whom live here permanently, so it feels more like home away from home as opposed to purely being populated by holiday makers.

What makes this villa unique

The outside sitting area gets a breeze from the sea which for me (Dean) was essential, I can't take too much heat.

We have a view from the back of the house over to the sea and great views over Farmagusta out to the 'Pan Handle' of Northern Cyprus

With a downstairs bedroom and en suite and 2 beds and a bathroom upstairs families can create separate areas for themselves

The house is in a very quiet area and yet we can still walk to beeches, bars and restaurants.

Notes:
There's all you need at the house for a 'home from home' comfortable stay, Whilst the cul de sac location gives a safe quiet environment., you also have beaches, bars and restaurants in easy distance. What this house offers that many don't is a large covered patio area that gives a shaded very comfortable area with both lounge seating and a large dining area that comfortably seats six. This has large sliding doors on one end and a canopy that can be lowered at the other to give an ideal outside area for relaxing in throughout the day, and evening even if it gets chilly. We are flexible on dates although at the height of the season this does become more difficult to achieve. We do ask that there is no smoking inside the house and that adults take care of children and do not, under any circumstances, leave them unattended on balconies and around the pool area.

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We spent 11 nights in this villa & it was fantastic it had everything you could wish for for a home away from home. The location was ideal it was quiet & peaceful but close enough to walk into the local area & then get public transport links to Potaras & Aiya Napa. Their's also plenty of nice restaurants to eat at either in the local area or in Potaras & Aiya Napa. Would definitely recommend to other people & hopefully we will return to this villa in the future years.

Lovely spacious villa in a great location, close to amenities and beautiful beaches

  • 5 of 5

Having stayed in a few villas whilst on holidays, I must say this is one of the best I've stayed in. With two teenage children (boy and girl), space is of the essence and this villa offers plenty. Also, having plenty of things to do in the area is a must too! There is everything you need in the villa for your stay plus fabulous air con (definitely needed in the heat of August), plenty of windows to open if you prefer which create a welcome breeze throughout the villa. Lovely little cul-de-sac area, although quiet, this did not bother our teenagers as we spent a lot of time out and about visiting the local beaches and trips further afield. We spent a couple of afternoons just lounging by our own pool. There is plenty of local amenities to get everything you require, ie. bakery (turn left out of the villa and head for the roundabout, awesome food, sells not only bakery items but fresh takeaway dinners/lunches, huge variety). Massive 'Metro' supermarket close by, as well as a smaller local one. Petrol station and Bank of Cyprus all within 5 minute drive away. We walked into the local town one night, took about 25-30 minutes. Although not that far, when it's very hot, the car and it's air conditioning seemed the best option for us! Parking was never an issue, we always found spaces in the streets and some areas had large parking areas. Plenty of places to eat. Never had a bad meal anywhere. People are very friendly. Beaches are lovely and clean, we went for the smaller ones, although you couldn't always guarantee a sunbed and parasol, at some point people did move on so we were always able to get one eventually. We visited Cape Greko (excellent snorkelling, crystal clear waters), went on a boat trip (Dolphin Submarine Tours (it's not a submarine but has port holes below so you can see the fish being fed when you stop off for swimming in one of the bays), friendly crew, very funny Captain!), went to Troodos Mountains, visited village of Omodos, went to reservoir 'Kouris Dam', visited various beaches, Chapel of Prophet Elias (about a 5 min drive from the villa, walk up to the top to watch the sunset - awesome). Thoroughly recommend the trips. This was our first visit to Cyprus and we loved it; we are planning on returning next year. The villa was great, the owners, Dean and Christina were quick to reply to our emails and provided very detailed information. Thank you to you both and thank you Cyprus. Hope to see you next year!

The house is in a quiet residential area catering for holiday home owners, their guests & some permanent British & Cypriot residents. We are at the head of a quiet cul de sac & the grounds & pool area, which are maintained throughout the year, are fully enclosed & gated.

We are about 3-5 minutes drive (15 - 30 minute walk) from Protoras, Kapparis & Paralimni. The bus stop is 2 minutes walk.

Within walking distance (and without the need to cross any major roads) are the sea, beaches, shops, bars & restaurants of Penera. The nearest beach and marina is the Golden Coast (about 10 minutes walk). Going to your left from here there are easy coastal walks that pass the beautiful Ayia Triada & Fireman’s Bays & on to the viewing points of Famagusta. Turning the other way takes you toward Protoras, Fig Tree Bay & on down the coast to Cape Greco. The views are stunning, sunbathing opportunities vast, with good quality food & drink is in abundance along the way. Enjoy!!!
