The City Council of Oahu signed Bill 41 into law in April 2022. With few exceptions, every bed and breakfast and short term vacation rentals on Oahu that opened since 1989 will be required to rent for 90 days unless they are located in a resort district. However a judge halted the 90 day requirement. A preliminary injunction is in place allowing us to continue to rent for 30 days unit the courts final ruling. Bill 41 comes with enhanced enforcement tools for the City and County of Honolulu. I can still rent for a period of 30 days regardless of your actual occupancy. Rental prices will not be reduced or adjusted based on the number of days the rental is actually used or occupied.
