Tumble dryer in kitchen. Heating - night store heaters, electric fan heaters, also multi-fuel stove One well behaved dog welcomed but please ask us first before bringing more than one dog or any other sort of pet. Pet not to be allowed on the furniture or beds, or left alone in the cottage. There are many good walks from the cottage. No dogs on main Marazion beach 8am to 7pm April to Sept, but dogs allowed on another beach a short walk away and lots of other nice walks nearby Although we are not able to adapt the Haven to accommodate the infirm or wheelchair users, it is in a level part of Marazion very close to the beach and village facilities. It might be suitable for someone who is able to walk 400 - 500 yards and climb one flight of stairs.

Lovely cottage in Marazion

  • 4 of 5

Really enjoyed our stay at The Haven. The cottage is quite spacious for a property in the heart of a Cornish village, and is moments from the beach. Well equipped with everything you might need for your stay. Some of the decor is a little tired (hence 4 rather than 5 stars). But all was impeccably clean and well maintained. We would stay again if in this part of Cornwall.

Owner's Response: We're pleased you enjoyed your stay at the Haven and being so near the beach - and we'll be doing some decorating over the winter. Please do come and stay again if you're visiting West Cornwall.

A place to dream

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyded our two weeks in this part of cornwall. And espacially the haven; everytime when we`re opened the door we`re feeling beeing at home.

Marazion, Penzance and the coast path walks was a great pleasure for us.

My first trip to Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the Haven, and on the beach looking out to St Michael's Mount. It's super pretty!

There's been a good deal of messing about on beaches which is fab. Monty the dog enjoys running around and I leave a great trail as I bum-shuffle across the sand. I've decided eating it isn't very tasty so have given up on that idea.

My Daddy and uncle have bought all sorts of fish in Newlyn. Today they brought in two enormous crabs. I really wasn't sure about them, but I thought the brown meat was tasty.

I'm used to having everything done for me, and Mummy and Daddy and my Aunt and Uncle seemed to find everything they needed in the Haven to keep me happy.

Life is going to be a bit boring when we're not on holiday anymore. Boo!!

Owner's Response: Really pleased to hear what a lovely time you had, Douglas - and we hope you and your family and Monty the dog will come for lots more holidays at the Haven. There's something for everyone to do in Marazion!

Comfortable home from home in a fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

Just had to write and say thank you so much for a wonderful week at The Haven. This is the first time we have visited Marazion, but I am sure it won't be the last. Our three boys, aged 9, 7 and 5 have all had a great week, the weather was kind to us and we visited many local attractions, the highlights of which were Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Beach, Kynance Cove, Carbis Bay and Paradise Park. The house was a real home from home, very well equipped, with many thoughtful touches. It was great to be able to be on the beach within a minute of leaving the front door! We arranged for an online delivery from Sainsbury's and that worked perfectly - although I was worried they wouldn't find us, as the house is tucked away from the road, but this is a positive with young children as you don't have to worry about them running onto the road. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Haven - maybe I shouldn't be writing this, I don't want it to become too popular because we really hope to be able to book again!

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your recommendations of the Haven and suggestions of things to do in the area - and pleased to hear you all enjoyed your holiday (and that Sainsburys can find the Haven!). We hope you can come again soon for more days on the beach and out and about locally.

Brilliantly equipped, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We had another fantastic week at the Haven, this time with our toddler and new baby. The house is really well equipped and immaculately clean, and unlike in other holiday cottages we've stayed at, the cot and highchair provided are new and of good quality.

As not only the wonderful sandy beach, but also an excellent playground, are just a few yards away, our older son was easily (and cheaply) amused without us having to get in the car all the time. We also hardly needed to use a buggy.

The village has plenty of great places to eat and pretty short walks that young children can manage.

We had a couple of rainy days and our older son loved going to the One to Eleven soft play centre in Helston, and to the swimming pool in St Ives.

We hope to come back to the Haven again soon. Next time we may even get to take advantage of the caretaker's offer to find us a babysitter!

Owner's Response: It's great to hear The Haven worked as a good base for your family holiday. Thank you for the recommendations for activities suitable for young children in our area. And it's especially nice to know our cottage had all the items you needed. Marazion beach is fun isn't it - high or low tide, rain or shine, it's always good to be beside the sea . We'll look forward to welcoming you again.

All you need for the family right by the beach

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Haven and was every bit as good as the first one. The major attraction of this cottage for us is its proximity to the beach and amenities and the private parking space in a bustling village. We find the property a home from home, with plenty of equipment and comfortable furniture. The house works well for us as a family with 3 primary-aged children. The week we stayed this year was one of the warmest of the year in the UK but the age of the cottage with its stone walls and its location made it cool and shady to return to in the late afternoon/early evening when everywhere else was baking!

We found it the ideal place from which to explore the local area by car in the mornings (Mousehole, Trengwainton NT gardens, Godolphin NT, St Ives by P&R train, Zennor village with its beautiful church and cake-filled cafe etc.) while being able to return to the village for the large, sandy beach in the afternoon without worrying about whether we'd be able to find a parking space as the cottage is so close to the beach.

Of course the jewel in the crown in the immediate area is St Michael's Mount, and it is wonderful to be able to join the causeway just yards from the front door.

We were confident we could have contacted the housekeeper should we have needed to but found the cottage in immaculate condition. Everything in the cottage - even down to the sockets - is clearly labelled so you do not waste time on your holiday working out what's what. There was also a mine of tourist information waiting for us and some books of local interest.

We have already decided to return next year because this cottage in this location works perfectly for a fun family holiday.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind and helpful comments - we only wish everyone could enjoy such wonderful weather during their stay - but we hope The Haven is a good place to stay even when there is more of the Cornish "liquid sunshine" around! Our families (now with grandchildren) love to visit and we're pleased your family want to come back next year. Alison and Victoria
