About the property

Menifters Holiday Cottages

Situated just 1 mile from the coast the cottages look out over unspoilt farmland with beautiful views towards the sea where boats can be seen in Falmouth Bay. The cottages, which have been converted from a 200 year old Cornish barn are set in gardens and paddock of 5 acres.

Each cottage is fully equipped for all your self catering needs.and there is a laundry room. There are no additional charges for heating or electricity. We do ask that you bring your personal towels.

There are 2 one bedroom cottages that have a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom for 2 people. The 2 bedroom cottages will sleep 4 people.

We regret no pets allowed

Porthallow Cove is just over a mile away and a footpath takes you down to this small seaside village. Porthallow has a pub which provides lunchtime and evening meals. 2 miles away is St Keverne which has a post office, shops, 2 pubs and a restaurant. Menifters is also situated just 4 miles from Helford river.

Menifters are no smoking cottages

A rural location: This part of Cornwall offers the opportunity to get away from the crowds and traffic. It is a rural community and you are as likely to meet a tractor on the lanes as another car. There are no high rise flats and hotels in this area and the many footpaths offer the chance to truly find peace and tranquility. From Menifters you can walk to Porthallow Cove in 25 minutes from where you can join the coastal path, Porthallow is the mid point of the South West Coastal path.

Please see our web site for more information and special offers

Helford: We are 4 miles from Helford village, a small and beautiful Hamlet situated on the Helford River. The navigable river goes inland as far as Gweek and his stretch is characterised with steeply wooded hills and Creeks, most of which can be explored on foot and many by car.

From Helford you can take the Passenger Ferry Boat across the river to Helford Passage. A two mile walk from here will take you to the delightful and exotic gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan.

Porthallow Cove

In our lovely new village hall on the beach, there is a film night (all welcome) every second Monday of the month:

Guestbook comments from the owner

Relaxing, cosy and well equipped make for a lovely place to stay. We loved the Lizard, Kynance Cove, St Ives and walking around the Helford.

Wonderful character cottage in rural Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

The cottage although small was well appointed and was perfect for the two of us. It was comfy sad cosy, with everything there you could need. There was even milk in the fridge and tea bags for a cuppa as soon as we had unloaded the car. There was also an information pack there not only about the cottage and its history, but things to do as well. We would highly recommend this lovely cottage and would happily stay again.

Remote but a lovely location

  • 4 of 5

We got good weather which always helps! The cottage is very spacious for 2 and the views across the fields to the coast are beautiful. The property is very old (I forget the date) and the fittings are a little dated - for instance if you want/expect a power shower this is not for you but then you should expect to pay a lot more if that's what you want.

This is a part of the world where narrow lanes are the norm so be prepared! The advantage is you won't get the crowds that you may see in other parts of Cornwall.

This is a beautiful.part of the country and we'll worth a visit. We certainly want to go back!

Wonderful cottage and lovely landlords!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed on week at Amy cottage and loved the view and the cottage itself. Nicely furnished with all equipment necessary to cook and feeling at home. Wendy and Ray were helpful at any time and we can higly recommend it for your vacation. Lots of things to do such as hiking and visiting gardens and little villages.

geräumiges, schönes 2 Personen Appartement, leider verkehrstechnisch nicht so günstig gelegen

  • 5 of 5

+alles relativ neu, sauber

+ schöner Freisitz

+ Badewanne

+ Parkplatz vorhanden

- verkehrstechnisch ungünstig gelegen

- Bett sehr weich und schmal

- kein Badestrand in unmittelbarer Nähe
