Overview

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Cornwall - Menifters Holiday Cottages

1 and 2 bedroom cottages overlooking Falmouth Bay

Situated just 1 mile from the coast the cottages look out over unspoilt farmland with beautiful views towards the sea where boats can be seen in Falmouth Bay. The cottages, which have been converted from a 200 year old Cornish barn are set in gardens and paddock of 5 acres.

Each cottage is fully equipped for all your self catering needs.and there is a laundry room. There are no additional charges for heating or electricity. We do ask that you bring your personal towels.

There are 2 one bedroom cottages that have a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom for 2 people. The 2 bedroom cottages will sleep 4 people.

We regret no pets allowed

Porthallow Cove is just over a mile away and a footpath takes you down to this small seaside village. Porthallow has a pub which provides lunchtime and evening meals. 2 miles away is St Keverne which has a post office, shops, 2 pubs and a restaurant. Menifters is also situated just 4 miles from Helford river.

Menifters are no smoking cottages

A rural location: This part of Cornwall offers the opportunity to get away from the crowds and traffic. It is a rural community and you are as likely to meet a tractor on the lanes as another car. There are no high rise flats and hotels in this area and the many footpaths offer the chance to truly find peace and tranquility. From Menifters you can walk to Porthallow Cove in 25 minutes from where you can join the coastal path, Porthallow is the mid point of the South West Coastal path.

Please see our web site for more information and special offers www.menifterscottages.co.uk

Helford: We are 4 miles from Helford village, a small and beautiful Hamlet situated on the Helford River. The navigable river goes inland as far as Gweek and his stretch is characterised with steeply wooded hills and Creeks, most of which can be explored on foot and many by car.

From Helford you can take the Passenger Ferry Boat across the river to Helford Passage. A two mile walk from here will take you to the delightful and exotic gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan.

Porthallow Cove

In our lovely new village hall on the beach, there is a film night (all welcome) every second Monday of the month:

Guestbook comments from the owner

Understated simplicity, warm and comfortable. Many highlights: St Michaels Mount, three hour walk from Mylor Bridge to Pandora's Inn, Pendennis Castle, Kynance Cove, the Lizard and many more.... Looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely location. The property was spotlessly clean and fully equipped. Wendy and Ray were really nice. Highly recommended and hopefully we will return.

White Hart Hotel in St Kevern is recommended.

Affordable tranquilty.

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Dairy cottage made an excellent holiday for us. Its ideal for two, roomy enough, warm and comfortable. I had some doubts at staying somewhere with 3 other neighbouring holiday properties, as I was wanting somewhere very peaceful. However, I was very relieved as the cottages provide peace in abundance. The owners are very courteous and never intrude, and we never heard any noise from the other three cottages. There's a very good amount of outside garden available to use should you wish. The views and air are delightful, and traffic is about one car truddling by every five minutes. For us it was an excellent base to walk loads, get away from it all and particularly reccommended if you like exploring the local coastline and villages. Many thanks.

Comfortable Stay

  • 5 of 5

We both really enjoyed our stay at Dairy Cottage. The place was clean, kitchen well equipped and spacious enough for the two of us. Although it was a little musty when we arrived, a bit of airing did it the world of good and it is a very old stone building which was explained in the welcome pack. It was very quiet, had a lovely view of Falmouth Bay from the back of the cottage. There was a pub 20 mins walk from the cottage that served lovely meals although the walk back was mostly uphill! We had a very relaxing time and we would definitely return again.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your holiday in Dairy cottage. I am sorry you felt the cottage was musty, but due to the prolonged wet and the unseasonal cool weather we could not leave windows open especially as we did put the heating on well in advanse of your visit.

Great home from home

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I stayed in Dairy Cottage over August Bank Holiday weekend. It was great - really well equipped, beautful views and very accessible.

It was an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding area - the South West coast path is very nearby and there are also some absolutely stunning beaches a short drive away.

The owners are very friendly and do all they can to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

I would thoroughly recommend it.
