Christmas in Oaxaca
From the moment we entered Luz's home we knew we were in for a fantastic stay. This house is extraordinary. Beautifully laid out and with the most peaceful garden and outside seating area. And if that isn't enough a rooftop seating area where you can look over the Centro. The house was clean, the sheets were top notch and the kitchen well stocked for any cooking you may want to do. We found the location also perfect. A quiet little neighborhood but walking distance to the Centro. And then there is Tete who warmly greeted us upon arrival and along with cooking delicious breakfasts for us each morning was very helpful with any questions we had. She was a complete pleasure. Luz was also extremely helpful in this regard and left numerous pamphlets and guide books which we used frequently. This is an exceptional house not be to missed if you have the opportunity.
My family and I stayed at this beautiful property in Oaxaca the last week of November and could not have had a better experience. The house is spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Tete, the house keeper and her assistant Rachel are extremely hardworking and pleasant. My family and I loved the delicious breakfasts that they prepared each morning. And finally Luz the owner could not be nicer, more accommodating or easier with which to work. All in all, just a delightful experience.
It was a pleasure to have you and your family Daniel. We want our guest to feel at home. We believe that “mi casa es tu casa” as we say in Mexico.
An absolutely wonderful stay. The home and staff (Tete, Luz) completely exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a home in Oaxaca for friends or family, look no further.
The home location is central to all attractions, very clean with daily service and breakfast, very large property for guests to relax, all bedrooms were master suites. Communication was outstanding.

Fabulous home in Oaxaca
I can't say enough positive about this home. Everything was a 10+. Luz was helpful and responsive, emails were answered quickly. The home is beautiful, full of really special art, a beautiful court yard, a quiet peaceful retreat after touring Oaxaca and the surrounding villages. We had three couples staying there, plenty of privacy but also lots of space to spend time together. Tete, the cook, was great, breakfasts were delicious. Luz arranged a driver coming and going from the airport and for a tour out to one of the villages. We were well taken care of. We so appreciated Luz sharing her beautiful home.
Thank you Bonnie, you were the perfect guest. So happy you were happy! Luz
This is a beautiful property!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Casa de la Luz immensly. The house is beautifully designed and decorated with art and artifacts that spurred our interest to learn more about the art and culture of Oaxaca. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless, spacious, and comfortable. The garden area is beautiful and inviting to sit and relax after a day of sightseeing. The staff was very gracious and accomodating to our needs - Tete prepared delicious breakfasts every day which we enjoyed in the outdoor covered patio. Casa de la Luz is conveniently located just a few blocks from the Zocalo, Andador Turistico, museums, restaurants, and the spectacular Santo Domingo. Most days we took the 15 or so minute walk back home from dinner. I highly recommend staying in this historic home that immediately transports one to the real Mexico.
Dear Rocio, thank you for you words, it makes me very happy that you enjoyed your stay. Mi casa es tu casa.
We loved every minute in this beautiful, luxurious private home in the heart of Oaxaca. It was the perfect place to wake up every morning, take breakfast in the crisp air in the courtyard with the fountain bubbling in the garden, and relax every afternoon and evening after much exploring around the city. The entire home is extremely comfortable with beautiful sitting areas in which to read, talk with each other, and view the garden, the beautiful design and the artwork. The bedrooms are separate and well-appointed, with beautiful bathrooms, as well. We could not have asked for a better place for our special vacation. Our teenage daughters thought it was paradise and so did we. We can't wait to return.
Thank you Jennifer, I would love that you come back. I enjoy sharing my home with people like you. Happy New Year
