Lovely 2 bed ground floor apartment near beach between La Mata/Torrevieja

This lovely ground floor apartment is situated on an attractive low rise gated complex in a quieter residential area conveniently situated near Torrevieja town and La Mata,on the South Costa Blanca,Spain.The nearest beach to us is Torrelamata, a long sandy,blue flag beach and approx a 20 min.walk or 2 min drive.It has a spacious patio,ideal for alfresco living.There is something for everyone inuie the area,whether its bars and restaurants (even the odd karaoke bar and nightclub are easily reached)or a quiet relaxing holiday,for family or couples you will find it .There is an excellent bus service to both Torrevieja and La Mata town centres,both which hold their weekly very popular markets on a Friday and Wednesday morning respectively.The stunning pool has a reputation as the best pool in the area and is built as three crystal blue pools with mock waterfall and separates childrens pool.Lush,shaded gardens,with benches,showers for your comfort,surround the pools and there is plenty of room for sunbathing.You can see the sea and the seaside town of La Mata from the pool area/gardens which are all very stylishly laid out.It is rarely crowded and even in peak season it can be quiet.

The apartment is stylishly furnished and fully equipped with all the home from home comforts. The two bedrooms are a double and a twin with one double sofa bed in the lounge, sleeping up to six .The lounge also has a stylish reclining leather sofa,table and four dining chairs.There is a double built in wardrobe in the double bedroom and a single built in wardrobe in the twin bedroom, with chests and beside cabinets and lamps .For your added comfort there is air conditioning fitted to operate on a 2euro coin meter, as well as free standing fans. To entertain you on a night in we have UK SAT TV with some French, Spanish and German channels too. There is also a DVD player with DVDs to borrow and books, jigsaws and childrens beach toys to borrow too. There is a Radio,CD and Cassette player for those of us who aren't into iplayers !!The American kitchen is well equipped with washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, electric oven and hob. There is plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for all cuisines. The bathroom has bath, shower (over the bath), bidet and wc. There is a built in cupboard under the sink for extra storage and a large illuminated mirror with handy shelf.

The spacious and private patio is ideal for alfresco living, with a free standing barbeque, six sunloungers, umbrellas and a table and six chairs, a cool haven for a meal or drink after a hard days sunbathing. The sun shines on the patio from around 10am until 5pm during the summer but slightly less during other times.We have kept our trees and some flowers as they provide extra privacy and add extra colour and character to the outdoor space.

In the immediate area: Opposite the complex is a popular English run pub/restaurant ‘La Hispaniola Ship’.There is also an English run internet café 5 minutes walk away which can arrange car hire and help you with just about anything including safety deposit box rental. There is a hair and beauty salon opposite the complex. Slightly further along the road (towards the sea) there is a very friendly reasonable Spanish bar/restaurant Bar Bahia Blanca which has a pool table and often live music and entertainment including flamenco shows.Behind these is a Sports Bar for those keen to keep up to date with the latest events.Within a 5 minute walk there is a new small attractive shopping centre,Torremarina.Amongst it’s shops there is a ‘Mercadona’ supermarket - very popular with locals as it is very reasonably priced,also a florist,souvenir shop,chemist and dentist.There are also a few bars/restaurants,including the Chinese Mandarin 'menu del dia' from 5.30e a head for a 3 course meal and drinks!Bus C runs to Torrevieja market and town centre from outside the complex and just round the corner Bus A goes to La Mata town and beach in one direction and to Torrevieja town in the other, on it's express route.

Slightly further afield: A 10 min. walk will bring you to Las Lomas commercial centre which has bars, restaurants, small shops,a small children's play area, taxi rank and a bus stop to take you to Torrevieja along the coastal road or,in the other direction to La Mata.There is also a bus round the corner to La Mata runs once an hour. La Mata is a smaller, more village like town than Torrevieja with a stunning beach with sunbeds and shades for hire. The bus takes you into the town centre, just near the square,which is a gathering point for the locals,especially of an evening when they take their stroll.La Mata is a traditional small Spanish town with a friendly atmosphere.There are pretty bars and restaurants, catering for all tastes,budgets and cuisines,for a beach side drink or meal.If you prefer to walk there is wooden promenade from Torrelamata beach,right along to La Mata town.There are several tasteful bars lining the beach and along the promenade to stop and enjoy the view of the aqua blue warm sea and never ending sandy beach.There is a play park here too, as well as keep fit equipment on the beach!! The side streets have several shops selling souvenirs, clothes, bags and tobacco and drink. There is a bodega too if you would like to try the local tipples. You will also find a post office in La Mata just along from the bus stop.

We bought this property because it has a large outdoor private space (unlike many newer builds), has the best pool in the area and is near enough to the beach and restaurants/bars and shops yet still in a quiet area. It is also really handy having an excellent bus service within a few metres.

What makes this apartment unique

Large patio and garden with beautiful flowers and a flowering tree.It is extremely private and the pool is stunning.There is everything you need for a stress free, easy holiday. The flowers and trees are lovely in the shaded pretty gardens which surround the pool.You can also see the see from the pool!

Hi Diane >Just to say we had a great time, apartment was ideal for us and nice comfy beds and endless hot water and enjoyed the pool and gardens. Managed to find our way around and the walk to the beach easy but got the bus back!!! >Lots of good restaurants in walking distance too. Amazing holidays

It was amazing holidays! We were 4 French persons. (2 adults and 2 childrens, 6 and 12 years old). We enjoyed a nice house very well equipped and a beautiful swimming pool. We went out for a walk along the beach with beautiful cliffs and we enjoyed shopping in the great Zenia boulevard. We have been on the market at the Mata. We ate in local restaurants. So, we had a great stay! We thank Gary for his welcome and his kindness and Diane to have rent us her home and for her availability. Mrs Achard

Torrelamata beach 20mins walk.Torrelamarina Commercial centre 5 minutes walk ,Lomas commercial centre 10mins walk.Buses to La Mata and Torrevieja within 2 min. walk. Bars,restaurants nearby with some having live music and flamenco shows Bar Bahia opposite is excellent).At La Mata are the remains of the old port at Torrevieja,called the Embarcadero Romano, or Roman Docks.Along this coast are the ancient watchtowers called El Moro and La Mata, used in the Middle Ages to warn the coastal inhabitants of attacks by Barbary pirates.Torrevieja is surrounded by two large natural salt-water lagoons that form the well-known 'Salterns of Torrevieja',where some people bathe in the salt lakes as they are renowned for their healing properties. In Torrevieja town there is a casino.Also several churches The Archpriest's Parish Church of the Inmaculada Concepción being the most famous in the main square in Torrevieja ‘Plaza de la Constitution'.La Mata market Wednesday,Torrevieja market Friday.Aquapolis waterpark,Ozone complex with cinema and bowling 5 min. drive.Golf nearby.
