A very cool place for a family to vacation on one of the Finger Lakes!

About Susie and Ed Pevear
Our grandfather and grandmother had the opportunity to purchase the entire "end of the lake" on Owasco but "settled" for just a simple, choice location on the northwest end of Owasco Lake. For many years it was a simple single room, unfinished cabin where they would come down to for weekends and vacations from their home in Auburn. Our mother inherited it when they passed and she and our father built a "retirement home" on the property where they stayed for many years until health forced them to a retirement home. After that, my sister and I used it for our family vacations and get togethers. In the past couple of years, we have chosen to rent out the property when we are not using it. The neighbors are friendly and always looking to help us whenever we are not there. But my husband and I live in Canandaigua and manage the property closely -- we're about an hour away, so if you need anything special, we can be there quickly.
Susie and Ed Pevear purchased this House in 1930
Why Susie and Ed Pevear chose Auburn
Spectacular sunrises, shallow, sandy bottomed and safe for young children or seniors! Close to town (Wegmans, Walmart, Walgreens, movie theaters, shopping, etc.). And some of the best and most productive pan fishing in the Finger Lakes Region. When you look up the state record sunfish and bluegill, you will be tempted to take your measuring tape and camera out in the boat with you! One day in the near future, we predict the state record will be from Owasco Lake's northwest end!
What makes this House unique
Having a raised deck with an amazing view across the lake to Emerson Park and down the entire length of the lake to the south -- you can hear concert music from Emerson Park, and see the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, or watch storms come up the lake (many which never seem to get all the way to the end of our lake). Barbecuing outside on the deck in the evening, coffee and muffins in the morning when you wake up, you'll pretty much "live outside on the deck" during your stay! An easy walk up the lake to paddleboard rentals make trying this for the first time inexpensive and convenient. The antique car show at Emerson Park is a short walk up the street from our lake house!

Beautiful lake, everything we needed for a week of fun.
Three generations enjoyed a great vacation . Lake water was warm and clear, sandy bottom. Lake frontage was large with plenty of room for campfire, badminton, duck feeding and any other lakefront activities. Panoramic view of lake from front of house was perfect (especially at sunrise). Although house is old, all amenities are up to date and house was very clean....we had everything we could possibly need and more. Thank you for sharing your home... would like to return next year!
We had a delightful week at Camp Gramps.
We kayaked, canoed, and spent many hours on the lake just drifting on the tubes that came with the house. The water was a pleasant temperature and the sandy bottom comfortable on the feet. Great deck. Well stocked kitchen. Nice yard. Everyone—grandparents, daughter and son-in-law, two teen girls—agreed that a good time was had by all.
Camp Gramp was great!
Our stay here was perfect for our family. The camp was clean, comfortable and had all the comforts of home, and then some! Morning coffee with the ducks, daytime fun in the lake and evening campfires made for great memories and a relaxed vacation. The owners are welcoming and helpful! We look forward to future visits!

Perfect location on Owasco Lake!
This is the second time our family has rented this house for a week stay on Owasco Lake. And just as before, we found it to be the perfect spot! We travel from out of state to visit with friends and family and have rented several properties on Owasco Lake over the years. We love the location of this property....so convenient for quick trips to town. The home and property are well maintained and very clean. The kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils and the outdoor grill is in great shape. The deck is a nice size and offers a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed fires each night along the shore. The water is shallow and perfect for kids that like to go in and out all day! The owners are very nice and welcoming, and they provide a kayak, canoe and other games for use during your stay. We love this place!
Best place we've ever rented in the Finger Lakes..
We found the property just as described. Great location at the end of a private lane, lakefront and with expansive lake views. The home and property overall were very clean and well maintained. We very much enjoyed the shallow nature of the lake out front which allowed the kids to play safely all day. The canoe and kayak provided, were a godsend! The relaxing evenings around the lakeside fire were also a highlight. We also enjoyed the proximity to Green Shutters restaurant and downtown Auburn. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation lakefront, with a large shaded lawn area. We will return!

We found the property just as described. Great quiet, safe location at the end of a private lane, lakefront and with unobstructed views of the lake and Emerson Park.
The home and property overall were very clean and well maintained. We very much enjoyed the shallow nature of the lake out front which allowed the kids to play safely all day. The canoe and kayak provided were a godsend! The relaxing evenings around the lakeside firepit were also very memorable. We also appreciated the proximity to the Green Shutters restaurant and downtown Auburn.
