This new and uniquely designed luxury 'hotel' style complex of just 24 apartments has been finished to the highest standards. The interior and exterior looks of the building are designed to be in the early Byzantine Basilica style, from which comes the name of the complex.

Bizantium occupies a beautiful position only 50 metres from the sea and our apartment boasts panoramic sea views.

Guests will benefit from a range of on site facilities and services including swimming pool, Turkish Bath, sauna, massage, beauty salon, terrace, restaurant and bars (cocktail and traditional 'clubhouse' style), 24 hr security, reception desk and private underground parking space.

Bizantium is just a few minutes walk from the beach, a 20 minute walk to the old town and a 30 minute drive from Burgas. Transfers from Burgas, Varna and Sofia can be arranged.

The apartment is furnished to the highest standards, equipped with everything you would expect to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.

Bizantium is situated 1 km from the ancient town of Sozopol. Regular buses run to and from the town and a little 'road train' runs every 30 minutes from outside the neigbouring complex.

Great Stay

First visit to Sozopol had a good time weather was fantastic good was good if you stay here eat at the Hotel as well as it was really good, fish restaurants all good with amazing views explore the choices don't go for first choice we found the ones that didn't try get you in there restaurants were the best Apartment was well equipped and comfortable staff very good. Only one thing Bulgaria needs to invest in pavements so easy parts of the road nothing but taxis are cheap, looking foward to going back soon.

Great location for perfect holiday

Very clean and well-equipped property in a fabulous complex. The views are fantastic, the air-con a life-saver and the beds superbly comfortable.

During the day, we spent a lot of time away from the hotel, thoroughly getting to know the excellent Sozopol but also venturing as far as Nessebar (great), Sunny Beach (acquired taste) and the Strandzha National Park (picturesque but unremarkable). Eating out is so cheap that we had lunch and dinner out every day of the fortnight; the hotel restaurant is excellent and pretty much as cheap as the local eateries.

We loved the pool area - the ultimate in relaxation - but didn't really use the spa. I had a massage which was superb.

On the whole a very relaxing, enjoyable holiday; we'd love to come back sometime. Booking was a breeze and Richard & Liz's communications were first class - we always seemed in very safe hands.

Great apartment

Really impressed. Liz was very helpful and always prompt to respond throughout the booking process. The apartment is in a serviced block, close to Sozopol. The apartment is very clean and benefits from aircon. We had breakfast every morning in the on site cafe at a very reasonable charge and ate in the restaurant twice. The on site staff were great.

All in all one of the best apartments we've stayed in because of the onsite facilities, including pool and bar, the proximity to Sozopol which is a really nice little historical sea side town.

Wir hatten 3 tolle Wochen, Familie mit 5 Kindern

..... und würde immer wieder kommen! Die Wohnung war sehr schön und völlig ausreichend für 3 Sommerwochen. Unser Ausblick auf das Meer, morgendlich schwimmende Delphine und riesige Fischschwärme zu beobachten, war das Highlight. Genauso wie das tolle abendliche Feuerwerk aus der Nachbaranlage vor unserem Fenster, fanden die Kinder klasse. Vila Bizantium ist ein schöner und sauberer Komplex. Die Spa Angebote haben wir nicht getestet und Essen im Restaurant waren wir auch nicht. Wir sind jeden Tag mit dem Bimmelzug (200m Fußmarsch) nach Sozopol gefahren und sind exklusiv Essen gegangen. Sehr lecker und super billig. Frühstücken konnten wir in unserer Wohnung oder haben uns auf dem Weg zum Strand Köstlichkeiten vom Bäcker geholt.

Den Aussenpool haben wir nur 2x genutzt, da wir lieber an den Strand gegangen sind. Strand:

Es gab für uns zwei Möglichkeiten. Entweder am Morgen mit Strandsachen und der Bimmelbahn nach Sozopol (8Min), am Bäcker vorbei zum großen Strand (dort gab es öfter große Wellen, zum Spass der Kinder), Mittagssnacks und überall Obststände, kleine Kaufläden für Getränke oder über die kleine Bucht (50m vor dem Hotel) zum Strand Santa Marina.

Den Strand Santa Marina muss man unbedingt gesehen haben und zwar den Teil, wo kaum noch Menschen lagen (Camping Bereich in den Dünen) und wo das Wasser noch 300m vom feinen Sandstrand kristallklar war. Unbeschreiblich schön.

Die Badebucht (50m vom Hotel) ist nicht zum Schwimmen geeignet, da sie naturbelassen ist und so einiges dort rumschwimmt. Der Weg zur Bucht ist abenteuerlich und nichts für Kinderwagen und ältere Menschen. Man könnte aber auch an der Straße entlanglaufen bis zum Strand Santa Marina. Wir haben den Weg über die Bucht, den kleinen Privatstrand Santa Marina, den kleinen Campingplatz bis zum Anfang des Sandstrandes bevorzugt. Dort kommt man am Supermarkt vom Campingplatz vorbei, wo man für den Strandtag einiges kaufen kann. Auch einen kleinen Bäcker gibt es dort.

Dann noch ca. 10Min am tollen Strand entlang und wir kamen zu unserer Strandbar ( mit den Fahnen von Captain Morgan ) mit super Musik. Dort lagen wir fast allein und hatten wunderbar klares Wasser.

Also wer sich auch ein bischen im Urlaub bewegen möchte, sollte dorthin.

Ansonsten gibt es nichts Negatives zu berichten.

Die Ferienwohnung lag genau richtig, um all diese Möglichkeiten nutzen zu


Nur darf man niemals vergessen, dass man in Bulgarien ist und dort die Uhren noch anders ticken!

Lovely setting and great apartment

Villa Bizantium has a great location being a 5 minute walk to the beach. The apartmernt overlooks the beach and you also have a great view of the sunsets.

The living area in the apartment is large and well equiped however you probably will not eat in too much as there are some great restaurants in Sozopol.

The apartment complex is clean, looks great and the staff are very helpful.Free wifi helps to keep you in touch with home also.

Sozopol is beautifully situated on a small rocky peninsula in the Southern part of the Bourgas Bay and is located only 32 km from Bourgas with its international airport.

It is a popular beach resort, famous for its beautiful sandy beaches. Sozopol has two beaches- the Central Beach, situated in the Old Town and the “Harmani” Beach in the new part of Sozopol. The sea water is so pure, that you can see the colour of the shells on the sea bed.

The atmosphere of the Old Town is both ancient and artistic derived from the cobbled streets, where the townsfolk sit and chat, knit laces and sell jams. Among more than 45 architectural monuments, are two ancient churches and many houses dating back to the 17th century.

There are numerous restaurants and bars, catering for all tastes, but specialising in locally caught, fresh fish.

Sozopol is the perfect location for a relaxed family holiday, a romantic getaway or for those wishing to explore the local culture and history.
