Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Saundersfoot - Fairview

15 min Walk to Beach & Pub, 3 Bedroom Cottage with a difference

To the casual observer Fairview might be dismissed as simply another rather pretty Welsh Cottage. It's really only as you take a closer look that the property reveals itself as a thoroughly contemporary and thoughtfully prepared base for your holiday in Pembrokeshire. This detached 5 star cottage is situated opposite the Chapel and close to the old miners track leading to the beach at Wiseman's Bridge, once the route of the Saundersfoot Railway this has now been resurfaced and provides a wonderful & safe path suited to cycles & buggies too. The fully enclosed garden wraps around the cottage with steps leading down to the entrance and providing access to the rear patio and barbecue area. The ground floor space is open plan providing a full and well equipped kitchen adjoining the Dining and Lounge areas. The whole space enjoys elevated panoramic views across the wooded valley through the six metre wide glass doors stretching virtually the full width of the property.

Luxury all the way..

  • 5 of 5

We had a week here at the start of school summer holiday and I can't express what a wonderful time we had. The owners are so friendly and there was a yummy cake and wine waiting for us when we arrived, together with tea, coffee etc and even dishwasher tablets. The little things made it for us, such as the luxury bedlinen and towels and the fantastic full width patio doors. The walk to Wisemans bridge beach is quiet and easy and the pub at the end reasonable priced and nice to sit outside in the evening. The walk into Saudersfoot is flat and easy too and saves you having to find a parking space. Highlight for us was seeing our 16 year old son and our 9 year old son racing plastic ducks down the stream at nearly Colby Woodland Gardens, and our 13 year old 'would be fashion model' daughter pond dipping!

We all enjoyed Fairview tremendously and without a doubt would love to return there for a truly peaceful and relaxing holiday. (The dog loved it too and slept like a log every night, exhausted!)

Amazing cottage, facilities and location

  • 5 of 5

We arrived as a family of 6 plus dog to celebrate mum's special birthday. Fairview met and exceeded all expectations and if possible, was even better than the description and the photos. The walk down to the beach is beautiful, the facilities within the cottage were exceptional, some better than at our own homes and the welcome and hospitality unbelievable.

We have all recommended Fairview to other friends and family and will also definitely be back!

Meg, the dog, loved the underfloor heating and the outside area for sunbathing! The beach is perfect for both dogs and children and the walk to Saundersfoot is lovely.

Can't enthuse enough about our time spent here - definitely the best cottage we have ever stayed at! Many thanks Simon and Amanda.

WOW - FANTASTIC PROPERTY!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the amazing Fairview cottage. It was our first holiday as a family and it was absolutely perfect. Working in the hospitality industry I have been lucky enough to stay in many five star hotels - Fairview is even better!! The property is fantastic and everything is to an exceptionally high standard. We have already recommeded it to others and will hopefully be back next summer - cannot thank Simon & Amanda enough.

Just as it says on the tin!

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with our stay at this well presented, furnished and maintained property. Booking and subsequent communications with Simon and Amanda were excellent, and we received a very warm welcome on arrival. Kids, dogs and grandparents all had a great stay - just watch your dogs if they are small as one of ours made a couple of successful attempts to escape the garden with the road, albeit quiet, very close. Living, kitchen and bedroom areas were all very comfortable and clean - we all slept as well as (or in my case better than) we do at home!

A downstairs toilet would be a useful addition as would a bit of extra storage for muddy shoes/boots and wet coats as the only thing that let us down on this holiday was the Welsh weather!

Mobile phone coverage was a bit erractic in the cottage and surrounding area, so if you want to make dinner reservations or book activities etc, it's worth doing whilst you're in town or out and about.

Would readily recommend to friends and family.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking the time to submit a review and for your comments, glad you enjoyed your stay. We will look for a bench & hooks or similar for the porch area to help with outdoor gear. Vodafone is the only "reliable" mobile network.

Car: recommended

After you’ve parked your car on the drive you may just decide to take a leisurely 15 minute stroll along the old railway track to the beach & pub at Wiseman’s Bridge. Hard to imagine as you follow the well surfaced path through trees along the side of the river that in years gone by the little steam engines would have hauled coal along the same route. Instead of heading left at the beach toward the Pub bear right along the back of the beach and through the three old railway tunnels into Saundersfoot.

The walled town of Tenby is about 5 miles west, if you have the stamina a beautiful walk along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and perhaps a bus home. There’s plenty to do – just a short drive and you could be standing in the dungeon of an ancient castle, aboard a boat for a trip along the coast to see the seals or Puffins or maybe riding the roller coaster. There’s also plenty of peace and if you know where to look a quiet beach can be found even at the height of the season!
