Born in Germany, raised in Canary Islands, went to college in Barcelona, Cologne and Bonn, lived the last 10 years in Chicago. Now, I'm back to Canary Islands, to the breeze at the beach, hiking the mountains, boating to hidden beaches.
I enjoy meeting new people, showing my friends and guests the island, taking them to places they would never find by themselves. My goal is to have the most beautiful apartments on the island; my philosophy is that our guests are travelers, not tourists; my motto is *authentic, individual, exclusive*

Our goal at Alberto Dorner properties is to help our guests experience the local cultures, lifestyles and environments: climb the volcano, hike the hidden path, taste the secret wines in small wineries, have authentic island meals in that back patio in the mountains that only locals know about, chat with islanders and find out about their lives. We want our guests to discover Tenerife in a relaxed, safe, adventurous atmosphere.
community: We are part of the local community and want to give back. We hire local staff, work with local contractors and businesses and shop locally. We want to preserve the community and help improve people’s lives. We promote sustainable tourism, with fewer guests but more involved, interested in land and people, respectful with local traditions and culture.
environment: Our properties are located on the north side of the island, an area with amazing nature, ranging from rainforests in the Anaga mountains to the desert in the Teno nature preserve, from the lava fields on the Teide crater to the volcanic beaches and basalt cliffs on the ocean. We are committed to preserve our environment for future generations, using environment friendly cleaning products and amenities and trying to have a low impact.

The views and the apartment are every bit as stunning as the pictures make out - you will not be disappointed. There are absolutely plenty of 'oldy woldy' B&B style places ran by a 'Bob and Sue' looking for high churn, with minimal maintenance in Tenerife which we wanted to avoid! So coming across Alberto Dorner apartments was a huge relief and EXACTLY what we were looking for; clean, modern, away from the hustle bustle, private pool, and great view.
Everything else was a bonus - well stocked wine cellar, complimentary of a collection of drinks, a warm welcome from Carlos the apartment manager who was great, and Kay the concierge was awesome providing recommendations on places to eat/visit - every part of our stay was cared for.
Friends of ours having seen our holiday pictures have already made bookings to stay themselves. We really, really, can not recommend this place enough.
Many thanks for letting us stay in your property - our children loved swimming pool and had a great time over the Christmas period. The property is located up on the hill, near San Marcos. You will need the car to shop in the near supermarket in Icod de los Vinos but the property has fantastic views down to the ocean towards Garachico, away from the busy town. The location is great as we were able to discover the north of the island in both directions. We love walking and did some fantastic walks in the north e.g. El Teide national park (via La Orotava), Anaga mountains but our favourite was a walk just up above Icod, beyond the La Montana village around Chinyero volcano. The apartment itsels is well equipped, we had a lovely fruit basket with oranges, papaya etc and a bottle of house wine left at our arrival and we had also sampled wine from the cellar located near the garage. Special thanks to Elena and Carlos for making our stay pleasurable! We'll be back!
What an excellent apartment for a stay in Tenerife! I was a solo female traveler and felt very safe and comfortable here. Welcoming and friendly property manager. The concierge, Elena, prepared a lovely basket of local foods, fruits, and wine when I requested some groceries upon arrival.
Superior A apartment is really the best and most private. Sweeping views of Playa San Marcos, nearby Garachico, and the stunning El Teide volcano summit. The sun in late October was warm and the plunge pool is an excellent amenity. I think vacation rentals should be a part of the experience when traveling and I spent plenty of time reading on the loungers next to the pool overlooking the ocean and enjoying homemade breakfast on the terrace in the cool mornings. A shared garage was available for parking and the small group of apartments are in their own little private compound atop a small hill - felt very secure. High quality linens in the bedroom and stylish interior design round out a perfectly managed rental property.
The location is excellent for feeling like a local. Icod de los Vinos is a great little village with several good restaurants (La Parada) and coffee shops (Lekkery) and a nice town square overlooking El Drago and the ocean. The drive to Masca and Los Gigantes is reasonable (45min) and the drive up to El Teide National Park through La Orotava is a must-do. Nearby Garachico is a very quaint seaside town with beautiful natural swimming areas among the volcanic rock pools. I've heard the north side of the island is cloudy, but there was only sun during my stay.
I would highly recommend this property when visiting Tenerife. Really, truly the best.

In one direction you can observe the hypnotizing waves crash on the cliffs below and in the other direction one can witness the highest elevation of Spain, Tiede the tip of a volcano. The apartment is professionally designed and offers modern state of the art interior amenities. The exterior boasts of a stylish private swimming pool with a glass wall offering endless views of the ocean. A modern pergola offers a stylish outside venue for socializing, star gazing or enjoying a drink with your loved ones. The hosts go beyond all expectations by offering a concierge style of service. They answered all of our inquires and facilitated assocated transactions in a timely manner allowing us the opportunity to enjoy last minute excursions. They are proud of their culture and enjoy sharing dialogue with clients who are open to adventure. A true once in a lifetime experience only achievable with the proper location and down to earth hosts!

The property offers stunning views and is equipped with everything you would need. The owner is very helpful and can answer any questions you have about the property. If you need suggestions on what to do or where to go while on the island he is very helpful also. We would definitely visit again.

Villa on a hillside at Playa San Marcos in Icod de los vinos (Tenerife). Spacious terrace with breathtaking views overlooking the whole lush north coast of the island. AD - San Marcos is located in a quiet residential area with only 6 villas. The beach is just 5 minutes down the road, where you find Tapas, local food and drinks at beach restaurants.
Icod de los vinos is well known for its vines, its historical, colonial town center and for its amazing surroundings.
The Teide national park is just 20 min away from Villa Costa Azul and is perfect for all levels of hiking with its unique flora and topography. Other day-excursions for hiking are the humid and lush laurisilva forest in Anaga or the dry, coastal Teno park. Further excursions on the island include the capital Santa Cruz (shopping), La Laguna (Unesco world heritage center) or the nearby historic town of La Orotava.
Enjoy sport activities: golf, hiking, paragliding, boating, fishing, scuba-diving, surf, horse-riding, etc.
