Why Sue Annear chose Truro & Falmouth area

When we saw Halwin Lane Farm we instantly fell in love with it's location. Set down a private lane away from traffic it is the perfect place for our young family to grow up. Although in a quiet position we love that you can drive in any direction and be at local towns or leisure facilities within 10 to 20 minutes. We particularly enjoy walks and horse riding around the local area including Stithians Lake. There are also numerous cycle rotes which as the children are growing up enjoy a great deal. The people of Porkellis are particularly welcoming and the local pub is a warm and friendly place to visit and has now got the added bonus of them selling groceries and even running a small community library.

Very comfy home in central Conwall, ideal for travelling around Cornwall

  • 5 of 5

We had an easy booking with plenty of help and ideas for days out even before we arrived.

We was greeted by some lovely flowers and goodies. And had a warm welcome from Sue herself. After that we was given our space to enjoy the comfy, spacious cottage and to come and go as we wished. A small problem arose and was quickly dealt with.

We loved feeding the chickens and having some outdoor space to be able to use as to chill out after our daily touring.

There's plenty of storage spaces and we was provided with everything we needed home from home. Including a washing machine and microwave.

The bath was deep and was a real treat to lay out in to relax and unwind.

We will book to come back again as we felt so at home, plus it really is ideally situated to go off in all directions to explore towns and villages in Cornwall.

We could only get a 4 night stay away this time but woukd definately stay longer next time and explore further.

It's so wonderful to come home to a "home" and not a hotel room where you can't really relax in.

Thankyou for everything Sue and Andy.

I can't praise you enough,

And wished we was able to stay for longer

But we will see you again as soon as possible.

Thankyou

Very enjoyable

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed ourselves but there are a few minor niggles, eg. could do with a brighter light in sitting room.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to welcome you. Regarding your comment on the living room light we will investigate that and perhaps put a standard light in there so visitors have the option of a brighter light or stick to the lower cosy light.

The property was clean and tidy. Situated in a quite village With a very good pub.

  • 3 of 5

The property was very well equipped. We had a very comfortable stay. The only thing which I feel could be improved is the small covered area. It needs some TLC, and the vine which is growing, needs to be trimmed,as it keeps the sun out. Also some outdoor chairs would be appreciated. The ones provided are not for relaxing in.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review. We will look at chairs for outside. The grape vine will stay as it does give lovely fruit and much needed shade especially when we have weather like we are currently having. However a good trim after harvest might be in order. Hope to welcome you again soon.

Porkellis is a small village surrounded by countryside, the village has a good pub serving food on most days and the same pub operates a local store for essentials such as bread and milk. Only a 10 minute drive away is Helston known as the gateway to the Lizard peninsula with its famous scenery and beaches. Helston itself is a small town full of history and of course famous for the Flora Dance held in May each year, you will find a good selection of supermarkets, local shops and other amenities such as a leisure centre and cinema.

Little Halwin is Ideally placed for touring either West Cornwall or head to central Cornwall where the Eden project is only a 60 minute drive away. Falmouth and its National Maritime Museum is only 20 minutes away. Slightly further away but still an easy drive are Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole with their many art galleries. Lands End with its breathtaking scenery and Porthcurno where The Minack Theatre is situated are again all within easy reach. Water sports and fishing are also all available locally.
