Description

Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday home in Old Town - 210 Swede

Master Suite with king, 2 Full Bathrooms, can sleep up to 4 with twin sofa beds

Really, the location is the best! This is a historic reconstruction that was finished December 2012. Only five minutes to all three resorts. This brand new home is the first Historic LEED home in all of Utah.

The location is the first characteristic that sets it apart but take a closer look and witness a perfect blend of traditional Park City mixed with modern sophistication. 100' from Main Street!

At 1000 square feet, 210 Swede is a two-story, single master suite home. The home has an urban loft feel with two full bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen with Viking and AGA appliances.

In the downstairs living room there are two fold-down sleeper couches and the upstairs master has the most comfortable king available for purchase. Lots of feather comforters and linen bedding gives our home a distinct Euro feel.

The new electronics boast 55' and 70' LED flat screens with every channel possible. A Sonos sound system links the to levels with rich sound and ultra fast Comcast wifi lets users work, surf, and stream.

The heating system is very cozy and European. The efficient induction panel heaters (4) keep the home at a mild ambient temperature but the two Plasma fireplaces give out amazing heat and fill the room with a rich glow.

On the secluded back deck there is a 5 person hot tub and a very private hang-out area.

There are so many unique features found in Park City's first historic LEED certified home. Please look closely at our pictures so you can see how special this home really is.

We have A/C for the summer months!

Problems need fixing to make it great.

  • 2 of 5

This could be a fun place to stay if not for several problems. I love the industrial loft decor mixed with touches of antiques that match the age of this historical home. Location is ideal for skiers and young late-night party goers. Easy walk to dozens of good restaurants, shops, and art galleries. However...

Four of the six primary windows had broken window shades that we couldn't open, giving us a feeling of staying in a cave. The bedroom shades also wouldn't close all the way, exposing us lying bed to the neighboring restaurant goers and pedestrians. We had to hang sheets over the windows for privacy at night.

The shower upstairs had no window cover even though the neighbors up the hill could look right in at you. And, although they are a ways away, they could also make eye contact while you are sitting on the toilet...especially at night if you have a light on. Frosted glass would have fixed this situation, but we had to hang a tower over the window for privacy. To make it worse, there are only two temperatures of water in that shower, hot or cold. They don't mix.

One other problem we had was with the downstairs sofas. These sofa beds are just plain odd. They're about 16-20" off of the ground. For my 6'2" husband it was a chore just getting up and down. And they are so uncomfortable to sit on (the wood frame can be felt while sitting) that we brought cushions downstairs from an upstairs sofa to cushion the seat.

Finally, some of the towels, and a duvet cover we used to hang over a broken window shade, were stained. Yuk.

All of these problems can be fixed rather easily, and when they are, this will once again be a delightful place to stay. Unfortunately, until then I absolutely can't recommend it.

Owner's Response: This review is actually funny. You can get a real feel for 210 Swede by reading ALL the other (5 star) reviews. This is from a senile old woman who is a nightmare in every sort of way. She was just being vindictive because I asked her not to let her dogs on the bed or furniture. Everything she mentioned was either never broken or is now fixed. All of our "normal" renters have loved our cute little housed say so. We have several guests that come back again and again. Future guests will not be disapopinted!

Great House, Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

210 Swede Alley was a perfect launching pad for our Park City area adventures. We loved being able to walk across the street for meals (the Eating Establishment was perfect for breakfast) and browsing the shops. We made use of the hot tub on the deck every evening and I can't say enough about the wonderfully comfortable bed. It was top notch! The house is very small, but well-designed to maximize space and it doesn't feel cramped. The quality of items in the home (great TV, nice kitchen and bath fixtures) lent just enough sophistication without compromising simplicity. We were very happy with this little house and would stay there again. One caveat if you are a late sleeper and don't like morning noise: There is construction going across the street Summer 2016) and a few restaurant delivery trucks whiz by fairly early in the am. It was no problem for us, but worth noting for those who don't want to be disturbed in the morning.

Great location in Downtown Park City

  • 4 of 5

The house was like a brand new house, super clean, and it makes great use of every inch of space in what is a very small house.

We had very warm weather in Park City during our stay (daytime mid 80's) and I would have given this house 5 stars but it did not have any AC so it was a bit warmer than we would have liked some nights for sleeping comfortably but the owners had some portable fans and with the windows opened the upstairs bedroom cooled down nicely after a couple hours.

We never moved our car - this house's great location allows you to walk to dozens of bars and restaurants along Main St and access the transit center to take the free busses anywhere in the Park City area.

Perfect Location, Comfortable Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights with our German Shorthair Pointer puppy, and we were so happy with this property. First, the location is absolutely amazing - literally steps from Main St. shopping and restaurants; also, a few quick blocks to some nice hiking as well. Second, the property itself is a perfect size with perfect accommodations - comfortable, clean, top of the line appliances, a huge TV in the upstairs loft, nice balcony with hot tub, etc. The owner has really optimized the space in this cottage, and I would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Park City in the future.

Perfect Park City Bungalow.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon, and it was absolutely wonderful - everythng we wanted and more. It was the perfect amount of space and amenities for the two of us. Ideal location for walking to restaurants, shops, ski lift, and shuttle. The hot tub was was wonderful after a long day of skiing. The bed is amamzingly comfortable. GIANT TV for movie viewing while hanging out in bed. Everything is super modern and cool. We didn"t want to leave. I can't imagaine staying anywhere else in Park City. The owners are incredibly nice and communicative. You are missing out if you don't stay here.

Great location for for Skiing and exploring Main street

  • 5 of 5

Appointed nicely and worked very well for us and our two sons. Wasatch brew/pub is right across the street and main street bus stop is right there as well to take you directly to Park City Mountain to ski. We were able to cook breakfast and relax at night as well as jump over to Main Street whenever we anted - very convenient. Everything was clean and tiddy. Would definitely go back.
