About Silke Olofsson

I am an Army National Guard Officer and plan to retire to this home at some point in the future. That being the case we are continually upgrading this property to make it the perfect retirement home. My wife is from Germany and holds me to the task of making this place perfect.

Silke Olofsson purchased this house in 2009

Why Silke Olofsson chose Arizona

The view, the quiet and the wildlife! We are available locally and ready to assist with any issues that might arise with the property.

What makes this house unique

This Property sits on 1 ½ Acres with lots of space for your travel trailer or other towed vehicles. The property can support horses if you desire, but you would have to bring your own temporary coral and water trough. The views from this location are amazing mountains to your back and city views to the front.

Incredible home nestled in the Superstition Mountains

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Our group consisted of four adults and two children and the home was very spacious. The home was beautiful, it was obvious that it had recently been renovated. The kitchen had everything we could ever need to make great meals. The backyard pool, hottub and patio were the perfect place to relax and take in the breathtaking views. There were more than enough comfy beds to rest after a long day of hiking. We would definitely stay her again and would recommend it to others. Thanks!

Great views, very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here in mid-February with my wife and two kids (3 years old, 9 months) and it was a great experience. It is literally at the edge of Phoenix, adjacent to the national forest. The views of the mountains and city are amazing. There is a pool (unheated so unused), hot tub, screened in porch, outdoor fireplace, grills, outdoor sound system, etc. The house is also nice, though we didn't spend much time indoors. The kitchen is fully stocked in terms of pots, pans, dishes, equipment, etc. However, I should note that (a) the dishes are all glass/ceramic, so if you have kids be careful, and (b) the house only has limited basics in terms of ingredients.

Overall, a great place. It is highly recommend.

Perfect location for hiking and beautiful views.

  • 5 of 5

This house was the perfect location and size for our family. We had 5 adults and 2 small children and later 2 more of our grown children flew in and we never felt crowded. This house is very neat and clean with no smell of cigarettes or pets, which is very important to us especially since we were traveling with our grandchildren. The pool and hot tub were crystal clear and clean. Unfortunately it was too chilly to use the pool but the hot tub was wonderful after a long day of hiking. If you love to hike in the Superstition Mountains, this house is perfect! The pictures don't lie. To get on the trail it is less than 700 steps from the backyard. (yes I counted) This house is quiet, private and peaceful with numerous wildlife in the yard. Our grandkids loved watching the bunnies. One afternoon, my husband and I were enjoying a cup of coffee by the pool and a bobcat walked through, outside of the fence. You will also be certain to see and hear coyotes. The back patio/pool area is fenced in. The sunsets were beautiful from the hot tub. Silke responded quickly when I had a question about what we should do when checking out of the home, otherwise we did not need to contact them. The house had everything we needed. The bottle of wine is a very nice touch. We will definitely rent this house again!

Lovely, spacious home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay! This home is very comfortable and perfectly situated with hiking trails galore. The unheated pool was a welcome for everyone to cool off and the spa was a treat. The home is tastefully decorated and much more spacious than the pictures lead us to believe. There's ample parking for guests and enough room for a travel trailer or RV. We would definitely recommend this home to our friends and family and hope to stay again in the future.

Owners were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Thank you for making our trip completely wonderful!

Great property in a gorgeous setting

  • 5 of 5

This property is a little out of the way, but worth the drive if you love beautiful desert and mountain views. We had five family members come in from out of town for a visit and they were thrilled with the accommodations. Silke and James had the house and grounds in great shape and even provided a complimentary bottle of wine! This is a wonderful place to experience the peace and quiet of nature, but even though you are nestled against the Superstition Mountains you are really only a 15-minute car ride from town and all the stores you need.

It was fabulous. The pictures didn't do it justice, we loved it.

  • 5 of 5

The house was definitely a home away from home. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The view was amazing. This house is a great place to get away and relax and is close enough to see some beautiful places. 5 star for sure.
