'Lazybones' is a private villa with a sea view, its own pool, 3 patios and a fenced in garden providing plenty of privacy. With the constant South East coast breeze, the villa stays cool throughout the day and is ideal for both couples or groups looking for a relaxing or an active holiday. It is also suitable for families too as the villa contains a playroom, has a dartboard and basketball net and there is ample room in the garden to play ball games or chill out on the internet as the villa also has Superfast Fibre Optic WiFi. There is also Cable TV plus a great selection of DVD's including children's DVDs. There are sunbeds around the pool and 2 hammocks on the upstairs patio for those who like to have a sneaky siesta or simply just enjoy the panoramic view of the sea and the local area. The downstairs patio, upstairs patio and both bedrooms 1 & 2 all have sea views. There is a Weber BBQ for enjoying meal times together on the patio. The monkeys playing in the trees alongside the villa are very entertaining and are a favourite attraction for our guests.

About Fiona Goodsell
We are Steve & Fiona Goodsell and we have one son, Scott, who is 16 years old. We live in Wales but sometimes dream of moving to Barbados because of it's friendliness, slow pace of life and fabulous climate all year. We originally visited Barbados for our honeymoon in 1994 but could not resist returning time and time again. Steve runs his own Property Services Company and Fiona is a part-time administrator. Whilst in Barbados, Steve enjoys watching a local cricket match, fishing off Skeetes Bay, or in the evening he can be found drinking rum and playing dominoes with the locals. Fiona's favourite day out is a visit to The Crane Hotel for lunch or relaxing at Bottom Bay/Crane Beach. Scott likes to play in the pool, go to the beach or sail on a catamaran and swim with the turtles.
Fiona Goodsell purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Fiona Goodsell chose Saint Philip
We discovered the villa half built in 2005 and although we did not intend to take on a building project at that time, it was an opportunity not to be missed, as it was in an idyllic peaceful location and the internal layout was great. So we knew that this would be ideal place for us but also a place that guests would enjoy because of it's privacy and chance to experience the real Barbados including monkeys playing in the trees alongside the villa. A walk across country to Skeetes Bay has great views across Culpepper Island and up to East Point Lighthouse. The East Coast is on our doorstep and a short drive away is St John's church and the view from there over to Bathsheba is stunning. A visit to The Roundhouse in Bathsheba is not be missed and neither is the view from Cherry Tree Hill.
What makes this Villa unique
Privacy & Peacefulness making it suitable for couples but it is also a very social villa too as it is large enough for 2 families to share. There are 3 separate patios so it can be as social or as quiet as each guest would like. This location gives guests the chance to experience the real Barbados and most guests love seeing the monkeys playing in the trees alongside the villa.

Relaxation at Lazybones
Many thanks to Fiona for being such an awesome host and allowing our family to stay in their lovely villa. Fiona was very accommodating in every way, she even helped us get a good deal on a rental car. We would also like to thank Sheila and Eric as well, we had to call upon each of them once and they both responded straight away.
Lazybones is the perfect place to be lazy and relax. The villa is located in a very calm and peaceful area alongside of the ocean and away from the city. Our family of four had plenty of space and felt right at home but without AC and Cable TV. The nice breeze throughout the night made it very comfortable to sleep however you will definitely want to plan to be out and about during the heat of the day or you could keep cool in the pool. Not being able to watch the local news or anything of interest on the one TV channel sometimes made for a long night and was definitely missed as we had our morning coffee. I would highly suggest installing some form of Cable TV.
The monkeys were out and about, it was really cool to see them. The spring was nice and the walk over to the ocean was amazing. Barbados is a beautiful island with plenty of things to do. You will definitely need to hire a car to get around and be prepared for the bumpy roads and pedestrians owing the roads as if they have bumpers to protect them from your vehicle. I saw that jokingly, however, it’s true. We made it a point to explore the whole island in a very short time. Miami Beach was my favorite because there was a shower available to wash the sand off which allowed us to continue to explore after the beach without having to go back to the villa first.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at lazybones and would definitely recommend to others. Thanks again to Steve and Fiona for allowing us to relax at lazybones.
Thanks Sharon for providing feedback and your great comments. We are really pleased your family enjoyed their stay.
I ordered Cable TV a couple of weeks ago and are just waiting for the Company to install it so thanks for confirming it is preferable to have it. Miami beach is one of our favourite beaches too so glad you discovered it and enjoyed spending time there.
Thanks again for your recommendation to other guests & best wishes for many more happy warm holidays. Fiona, Steve & Scott
our stay at Lazy bones was perfect from the beginning to the end.
Firstly communication with Fionna was great, informative and helpful. She helped to arrange a car rental and provided me with extra information regarding the property layout so I could allocate bedrooms.
We was warmly met by Sheila at the property, who again provided a wealth of information and it was comforting to know she was close by in case of any problems. Special thank you to Sheila for allowing us to check out an hour earlier at short notice.
The Villa is beautiful, very peaceful and perfect for a family holiday. Everything has been thought off and provided for a lovely stay. There are lots of games, toys and cutlery for children. The layout meant that there was ample space for our two families not to feel on top of each other.
The pool was a great size and was cleaned regularly during our stay. The upstairs balcony with the hammocks provided a very cool and peaceful secluded area with a stunning view.
The nearby spring provided an exciting adventure for our family and we loved seeing the local animals such as the black belly sheep and monkey's.
Great value for money and would definitely recommend to those looking for a peaceful get away.
Lovely villa in a rural setting, with privacy and gorgeous views
My two sons (14 and 11) and I stayed a week at the villa this April and we were absolutely thrilled with our vacation. The villa is clean, attractive, and had everything we needed, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The delightful ocean breeze kept us cool and very comfortable. We saw the playful monkeys in the field or woods at least once per day. The pool is in excellent condition. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and enjoyed the quiet and privacy of the villa. We ate every meal on the outside patio. Sunrise and evening walks down the path to the ocean cliffs and beach is a must!
With renting a car, daily trips around the island were not a problem. We were able to see all four coasts during our stay. The property owner and housekeeper were friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to our questions. Our family would certainly rent Lazybones again!
A Perfect Week for Us!
Lazybones is a great villa...Just what my wife and I (along with another couple) were looking for! The location on the East coast was quiet and very relaxing to come home to...Especially the pool and decks. The photos and description are spot on. The villa was meticulously cleaned. Sheila, the local contact, was very helpful and quick to respond to questions throughout the week. Fiona, the owner, was a joy to communicate with prior, during and after our trip. She helped get us a discount on our car rental that worked out great. During very early morning walks in the neighborhood, we felt very safe and neighbors were very friendly and welcoming.
Our personal highlights...Watching the antics of the green monkeys each afternoon from the villa...Sunrises and evening cocktails on the upper deck...The pool...The soothing ocean sounds and breezes from the bedroom...Delicious dinner & views from the East Point Grille...Gorgeous hike from Bath to Martins Bay and of course...THE BEACHES - We visited Miami, Bottom Bay, Bath, Bathsheba, Batts Rock/Paradise and Folkestone Marine Park (good snorkeling)...All so different and beautiful!
Thank you Fiona for sharing Lazybones! We highly recommend it and would love to return!
Our family had a great time staying at Lazy Bones. Fiona was awesome to work with. All of our questions were answered in a timely matter. Sheila the housekeeper was there to greet us upon our arrival. My 2 grand kids absolutely loved the pool and also watching the monkeys. The house had everything that we needed. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the sea.
Thanks again for providing such a beautiful place to stay for our family vacation.
Thanks Shirley for taking the time to review your stay. I am so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay at Lazybones and that the pool and seeing the monkeys was a hit with your grandchildren. Best wishes for many more happy holidays together in the future. Thanks again, Fiona
Lazybones is a beautiful fully equipped villa in a quiet location on the East coast. As a family of five we thoroughly enjoyed our nine day stay. The pool was in constant use, we loved star watching from the upper deck, monkey watching from the breezy terraces, and the large bedrooms and kitchen. There was plenty of space for everyone! Attention has been given to every detail which we much appreciated. Fiona was extremely helpful before booking and the Lazybones visitor booklet at the property was very informative ensuring that we had all the necessary information for a trouble free stay.
A real home from home. We would highly recommend. Thank you Fiona.
