The full service kitchen features an island and dining room views of the creek valley. The sunroom and pergola offer a great place to unwind and unplug. Each bedroom is appointed with first class linens, and plenty of privacy. The front porch allows you to take in the sunrise, and the back porch entertainment area captures a full view of the sunset. This tranquil home offers a quiet setting to unwind, and is ideal for corporate or family gatherings.
This authentic log house is an expanded version of the original settler's two room log cabin built in the mid to late 1800's outside New Haven, MO. Its massive hand hewn oak beams were disassembled and moved from the cabin's original site on the farm and reassembled at its current location in 2006. This beautiful log home has been reincarnated as a modern farm house situated on a 400 acre working farm in a peaceful rural setting outside New Haven. For those visitors wanting to leave the tranquil setting of this country home, it is only minutes to the arts, crafts, and glass blowing shops in downtown New Haven, 15 minutes to the attractions in Hermann, 20 minutes to the shops in downtown Washington, 45 minutes to several award winning wineries along Missouri's Wine Trail on Highway 94, and an hour's drive to St. Louis County. This home has 3full and 1 half bathrooms, 4 bedrooms (2 king bed, and 2 queen beds), modern HVAC, plumbing and electric, 2 living rooms, and a dining area off the kitchen. The kitchen has a gas cook top, electric oven, and all the modern appliances you need. Most of all, it has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside during the day and at night the lights of New Haven sparkle in the distance.
Luke Otten purchased this chateau / country house in 2005
The minute we found this property, we fell in love, and the original log home was in need of much repair. We painstakingly dismantled the farmhouse logs and moved them to the new location on the ridgetop, wanting to take in the surrounding views.

Beautiful place. 11 of us stayed for a girls weekend and it was plenty of space. Photos don't do it justice. Would stay here again. Would be gorgeous in spring, summer or fall.
The picture of this home and property are great but it is is far more beautiful in person. The home is extremely well made and very neat and clean. The home has so much charm and beauty. My family had a great time staying here. There was more than enough room for everyone and Luke the owner was very easy to work with and helpful. We had 10 people and everyone talked about coming back and even coming with other groups.
Rented house for a family reunion-plenty of space and everything very clean. The view was spectacular as the house sits on top of a hill. We would love to return!
The first word out of everyone's month upon entering the house was "wow !!". The location is perfect, the large table is great for gatherings and the bedrooms are huge, as in Donald Trump "huge". Everything was better than advertised, including all communications. Right in the middle of the wine area. For a fun adventure, contact the Wine Country Wagon Trips. Drive into Hermann and experience the Alpenhorn Chocolate and Wine Rendezvous. Enjoy !!
The home was gorgeous, bedrooms were incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated. Part of the home was a historic cabin moved and rebuilt on this property, it was very lovely and had a certain nostalgia about it.
The property manager we dealt with, Luke, was very accommodating and polite. If you need space to stretch out with friends or family this home is so worth the price!
This was a lovely and very spacious home. We stayed during Oktoberfest and spent some time in Hermann during the day. It was a very easy drive into town. The home is 2 levels and also has a large garage below the 1st floor. The kitchen is a chef's kitchen and has everything you would need to cook a meal, it is also much larger than it appeared in the photos. The view is beautiful and the setting is so relaxing. The rest of the accommodations were A+. I highly recommend if you are considering staying in this area!
Visit and tour the Rhine River Valley, from Washington to New Haven, Dissen, Owensville, and historic Hermann, all within a short drive of this beautiful home. Many beautiful wineries, featuring traditional German music. Tour Hermannhoff and City of Hermann and get in touch with rich German heritage (trolley rides are great to test local wineries), or Washington's historic downtown with art galleries (Gary Lucy and more), great music, breweries (John G's Brewery). The Washington River front features a walking / biking trail. Stanton, about an hour away, showcases Meremec Caverns, the historic 'hideout' of Jesse James. This beautiful country home is just a short trip away from all the areas biggest attractions.
