We were on our way to the airport to return from a family vacation and stopped for a few minutes to look at this property. We had no intention to buy a vacation home but it was love at first sight. That was all we spoke about on our way home. We loved the location, the security, the amenities and the proximity to so many restaurants, attractions, hotels and beaches. We are originally from the city so this was a breath of fresh air, literally :-) We have been enjoying it with our family and would love to share it with you. Please treat it as you would want someone to treat your home.
What makes this House unique
When they say, location, location, location! This complex could not be at a better location, close to the beaches and major and minor attractions (see list above). Your safety and security is taken seriously. The amenities: pool, clubhouse, tennis court, walking trail, gym are amazing. We will spend hours at the clubhouse that has a TV and wifi. Home is modern, cozy and immaculately designed to blow your mind away.

The gated community located 15 minutes from Ochi by car. We rented a car, so we didn't need to wait for a taxi each trip. Not much is within walking distance from the house. The clubhouse has an open area, the WiFi wasn't working , the gym is very basic, no wipes for equipment and too few receptacles, so we were only able to plug in one piece of equipment and a fan if we were alone . Luckily, there were not many patrons using the facilities. The tennis courts are not completed, so not in use. The pool water was very cold and it was not vacuumed often enough. We saw a large ball of hair and other debris in the pool every day. That part of the compound was very new, so likely a work in progress. The house was very comfortable with great WiFi and TV, but did not have salt and pepper shakers, an umbrella, or beach towels. The beach is accessible by car, it would be nicer to be able to walk to one.
The property was fine. The toilet in the mater room made noise when you flushed it, fridge was out
The owner made our trip hell. He tried to charge a extra 750 because he asumes there were more than 2 guest. He went as far as saying the security guards said that 6 guest were in the house, when I spoke with the security guards they stated that the did not tell the owner Keith that. At one point the owner stated he checked in 6 people, I offered proof that 4 people traveled and one went separate and the 5 year old stays with his grand parents. I had to contact the local police and Jamaica tourist board about my rights. He walks around the outside of the house. We had to find another place to stay. The owner told the security guards that we could not have any guest. If you want to have a pleasant trip and not worry about finishing a next place in the middle of your vacation this is not the spot.
I have read Dana Anderson's accounts of her stay and deny the allegations made against me.
The facts are as follows. I am the property manager for Villa 90 at Drax Hall Manor and inherited this reservation but had not seen the details prior to meeting Dana Anderson, who I understand was the primary person who made the booking.
On June 5, 2017, 2 females, two males, 2 children and 2 vehicles showed up at lot 90 Drax Hall Manor. I spoke with Dana who confirmed that everyone was checking in. I observed suitcases being brought into the house and distributed to each bedroom. At check in the circuit breaker to the refrigerator had tripped but the electrician on call corrected the problem temporarily and permanently fixed the problem the next day.
It wasn’t until the Monday following checkin that I realized that the booking was for 2 persons only so I alerted Dana to this fact which she claimed that only 2 persons were staying there but the others were visitors. This was not the case, however I tried negotiating with her to compensate for the utilities used by her “visitors". Dana refused to pay any extra so I informed the owner who instructed that I let it go. I followed the owner's instructions and allowed Dana and her guests quiet enjoyment of the property for the duration of their stay.
Dana and her guests had already checked out by 10 am on the 19th before the scheduled walk through. To say that the state of the house was filthy would be an understatement. Debris and food particles were all over the kitchen and living area and all three bedrooms were a mess. Lights were on and all Air conditioners were operating at full blast. We have since obtained a $26,258.33 JMD electricity bill from Jamaica Public Service Company for the 14 days Dana and her "visitors" stayed at the house. The bill for the previous 30 days for 6 people most of the time was $13,862.22 JMD.
Dana should be more honest and respectful of the properties she rents to warrant any positive recommendations going forward.
