Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 3/4 bath, Sweet log cabin that sleeps 6

The Aspen House Cabin is in a beautiful and quiet rural neighborhood surrounded by National Forest, but only minutes from the entrance to Yellowstone Park and the town of West Yellowstone. It has amazing views of the nearby mountains, and is in an area that is regularly frequented by Yellowstone wildlife.

This is a smaller log cabin with one main floor bedroom and a loft master bedroom. The cabin is surrounded by a beautiful forest of mature aspen and fir trees. It is well equipped, with a very cozy and comfortable feel. It includes all of the comforts of home, including a full kitchen, large screen TV, wireless internet, a barbeque grill, and a large yard.

The cabin is furnished with great mattresses! It has Keetsa eco-friendly king-sized matresses in both bedrooms. It is also well appointed for fishing folk, with wader hooks and a rod rack for fishing rods just inside the entry door. Like hot showers but don't like to rush them? This cabin also has an instant-on continuous hot water heating system, so take your time!

The cabin offers spectacular mountain views with easy access to Hebgen Lake and the mountains of Gallatin National Forest. It is accessible by driving on a paved highway from the town of West Yellowstone and then taking a short 1/2 mile drive down a graded, maintained dirt road. It sits in a secluded area at the base of the mountains forming the Continental Divide, only 7.5 miles outside the town of West Yellowstone and the western entrance of Yellowstone National Park.

It is located in a small, quiet subdivision that is surrounded by Forest Service land. The Madison Arm of Hebgen lake, with a boat ramp, beaches, and swimming, is less than 4 miles away. All of the Park's animals also live and travel through the area, so it is not uncommon (depending on time of year) to see elk, moose, bear, fox, wolves, eagles and many other animals nearby. Hiking trails and groomed Forest Service snowmobile trails are accessible from the boundary of the subdivision, and snowmobiles can be ridden from the home in the winter. Cross country and backcountry skiing opportunities are also available right outside the door.

It is in a great location for staging any Yellowstone adventure, whether exploring the Park or the surrounding forests and lakes while skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, biking, boating... Almost any kind of outdoor adventure, you'll find it here. There's plenty to do in West Yellowstone too, for those not as outdoor inclined. You’ll love it!

What makes this cabin unique

From the Aspen House owner:

From the very first visit, our family fell in love with Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. In fact, we rented the Aspen House during that visit!

As luck would have it, we now own the Aspen House and are so excited for you to be our guest so that you, too, can explore and discover the beauty and wonder of the area.

While you have likely come to spend your time within the park, hopefully you’ll find time to explore outside of its borders as well. To the south lies beautiful Jackson, WY, resting in the shadows of the majestic Tetons. The Grand Teton is a must see and makes for a convenient day trip south out of Yellowstone Natl. Park.

While in the park, countless wildlife viewing and photo opportunities await. For scenic photography, be sure not to miss the road up to Mt. Washburn, Yellowstone Lake, the Fishing Bridge, Yellowstone’s Grand Canyon and, of course, Yellowstone River Falls. Just a few short minutes north is Hebgen Lake. It’s an easy loop for a scenic drive or a full day on the lake as a mid-trip rest. West Yellowstone has a number of fun restaurants and activities as well to fill in those down moments between your excursions.

Or, as we like to do after those long days, simply return to the cabin, settle back on the porch and enjoy your favorite grilled meal while watching for wildlife until the sun sets.

Regardless of how you choose to spend your time, we’re glad that you chose the Aspen House as your home base. We hope you enjoy the rustic decor, inviting beds and, most importantly, the peace and quiet offered around the clock by Mother Nature herself.

Please be sure to sign our guest log and leave us a note about your visit, where you come from, highlights and if the cabin was a complement to your vacation as we hope it was. Whether this is your first time in the area or just one of many, we’re very pleased that we could play a small part in the memories you created!

Great Vacation!! Secluded But Not!

  • 5 of 5

This was an amazing home in the woods but only 20 minutes from the entrance of the park. We headed out everyday and found a fox or deer in our property for the week. We ere there 7 days and I wish we could of stayed longer. The cabin was very cozy. We BBQ outside and admired the millions of stars in the sky! The owners were great in returning our calls regarding the home and places to eat. We enjoyed cooking at home and enjoying the quiet!

There is a horse riding place on the same side of the street as the property, where they do rodeos and the staff is super nice Crystal was Awesome! Yellowstone is a beautiful park. A must see!

If I go back, we are definitely staying there again!

Very nice cabin

  • 5 of 5

Convenient location to West Yellowstone, semi secluded, very clean and comfortable, TV & Wifi works perfectly.

The only negatives are there is no area to store dry food products and no place to hang clothing other than a coat rack.

Loved the Aspen House! It is secluded, yet not too far from town or the Park! Super comfy beds, well stocked, handy washer and dryer! It was a perfect size for our family, cozy but not cluttered! Would highly recommend it!

Log charm

  • 3 of 5

Lovely log home with lots of charm. Set back at end of the road in the woods.. we watched the deer walk by. Few issues with the house except a Tiny shower, very difficult to wash up in, overall the house is in very good condition. Odd that we were instructed to strip the beds and start the wash, dump the trash before we left. Not a fan of that at all. What did I pay the cleaning service fee for? That will keep me from renting this property again.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that for the most part you enjoyed your stay! It's a shame to hear that you will not be staying again. As for your frustration with the request that guests help out by simply stripping beds and tossing the trash, it is just that, a request. If you had chosen not to help out you would have not been reprimanded in anyway... no fees, phone calls, emails or negative guest-review. The reason we ask for guests help is that we would like to keep our check in time reasonable and our cleaning fee to a minimum. We do not make a profit on the cleaning fee, it simply provides payment for the cleaning crew. The longer the cleaners have to spend cleaning a home, the higher the cleaning fee. We took our pick, asking for a little help from guests over charging a higher cleaning fee. As I personally travel I utilize the convenience of vacation homes and have never stayed in one that did not make this simple request. The earlier our guests can check in the better. In fact we recently received a five star review that mentioned how grateful this particular guest was that she could check in a little early and get her family settled in and comfortable after long stressful travels. Our cleaners clean form top to bottom each time they visit our properties. Even with the head start (stripped beds and minimal garbage to clean up) the cleaning crew has plenty to do and a short window in which to get it done. They clean as efficiently as possible in between gusts checking out and checking in, utilizing every minute. Best wishes, safe travels and we do sincerely hope to have you back one day!

Excellent accommodations for seeing Yellowstone with our family

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The cabin was cozy and secluded. It was close to West Yellowstone and a perfect base for our day trips to the park. Our kids loved the trip and so did we.
