Overview

About the property

Dome Home Very Close to Paradise

This 3/4 Dome is proudly a non-luxury vacation rental on 5 Acres adjoins BLM and USFS lands totaling in the hundreds of thousands of Acres. It is 3.5 miles up a dirt road. A 4WD CAR IS REQUIRED IN THE WINTER. It is a cabin in the woods with heat and electricity and running water including free laundry. It is however somewhat rustic and there are no maids, you will be expected to clean up after yourselves AND take your trash with you at the end of your stay. Basic cooking supplies are included but you will need to go grocery shopping. The home has 1 BR and 1 BA and has a total of about 1100 sf. There are three beds in ONE common room w/ loft. It has Heat ( controlled by thermostat) and Water and Electricity....no tv...no internet, but phones work well (4G network) so you can still post to your fave socialist media page. There is a stereo with a radio ( you can listen to football games) , a RECORD PLAYER from the last century, and a jack for your phone music. In winter November thru May a 4wd car with good tires may be required to reach the Dome. The dome is luxurious in some ways, and rustic in others and its an all around a good value and unique place to stay. It is close to both Denver and to the mountains but does require some work to entertain yourself in an old fashioned way.

Beautiful cozy cabin , with well decorated interior with musical instrument and themes to entertain

  • 5 of 5

The cabin pantry was well stocked with seasoning and stables. The cabin was not too hard to get too with a small car if there is no snow. With snow I would say we could not have done it. The inside was well decorated and we had alot of fun with multiple trinkets. The dome creates an interesting effect where you can not tell where someone is speaking and we had alot of fun. If you're a musician this cabin Is a must visit for a get away. The stairs are steep so be careful if you have a bad hip this might not be the cabin for you. The cabin is seven miles way from mount evans which is a fun senic road trip .We had a blast with van dome and would visit it against if ever in Colorado again.

We stayed in the dome for four nights over Christmas. Had a beautiful white Christmas! This place is amazing. I love it exactly as it is! Adam was great to work with! Can’t wait to go back during the Fall.

About Van Dome

We are scientists and musicians , we've lost the manual for this dome rocketship-recording studio! Come help us find it! In the mean time we're using it as a guest house. Please let us know if you would like to make a record! Some instruments are available if the muse is with you....:)
