About Mrs F Brouwer

I've loved Amsterdam ever since I moved there 30 years ago, and look forward to welcoming you and help you make the best of your stay. I have travelled a lot and know what makes a homestay worthwhile. As my children (24 and 22) have left home to study, I now have the opportunity to offer my apartment for rent. I work for an ICT Multinational and study Arts & Culture. I like contemporary art of which you will find a lot in the apartment. And I cannot live without books so you will be surrounded by plenty of those too.

Mrs F Brouwer purchased this apartment in 1989

Why Mrs F Brouwer chose Grachtengordel

Once you see the apartment you'll understand why I still love it since we moved in 30 years ago! It has the best of both worlds: whilst in the middle of Amsterdam the place is very tranquil. The loft style apartment offers plenty of space; ceilings reach 6 meters high. You'll find quiet, space and plenty of green in the garden. The popular nine streets area is around the corner. You can walk (or cycle) to all major attractions. And as you step out of the historic front door of the building, the beautiful Herengracht canal will bring a smile on your face.

What makes this apartment unique

The space, the height of the ceilings, the open living room with it's overcrossing 'bridge', the huge windows and the quiet garden! On top of that: location, location, location.

Fantastic Apartment, Incredible Location

  • 5 of 5

There are so many great things about this property. The owner, Florentine, is not only helpful, she’s delightful. The location could not be any better. The neighborhood is adjacent to but separate from the busier tourist areas, so you get both peace and quiet and easy access on foot, bike or nearby public transportation to all sights, shopping etc.. The apartment is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, has a wide variety of books to read, and displays dozens of interesting art and collectible pieces. The backyard is a fantastic haven to spend some time in each day, a unique feature we really enjoyed. We highly recommend this property.

ideal location, beautiful property, wonderful owner

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week in this lovely, peaceful home while our family explored Amsterdam. Florentine was extremely responsive and helpful from the moment we booked her property. It was in the ideal location to walk or take public transportation to all the sites we wanted to see. The home was clean and in wonderful condition, the beds were comfortable and the showers were hot. We enjoyed all the unique art and the view of the garden outside. There were plenty of restaurants but we used the well-stocked kitchen to prepare many meals. The building was quiet and well maintained. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy a quiet respite in a central location for visiting Amsterdam.

Search no further

  • 5 of 5

Search no further if you are looking for a nice place to stay in Amsterdam. The Canal Loft has everything you need to have a wonderful visit. First, is easy walking or tram access to all major points in the city. We only needed a car to and from the airport that Florentine arranged for us. Some of the best restaurants and shops are within a five-minute walk. If you chose to cook in, this well maintained, fully equipped apartment has everything you need. The queen and king beds are excellent. This home is also a sanctuary from the city. The beautiful backyard garden was coming into bloom as we arrived. Enjoy the afternoon sun. We highly recommend the Canal Loft!

This loft was in a perfect location as we were able to walk to many attractions. Our hostess was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us around her lovely home. She also left us with a book of information about her historic home and information regarding the area's restaurants, cafe's and boutiques. Even though this loft is right in the city you would never know as it was quiet and peaceful. The loft has it's own lovely private garden. An amazing place!

Beautiful apartment in great location!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful apartment exceeded our expectations! There were 4 of us and the apartment was very comfortable, spacious, and quiet. After a day of sightseeing, it was wonderful to relax in the garden before heading out to one of the spectacular restaurants in Amsterdam. The location was perfect. We walked to all the sights, museums, etc. Lots of restaurants and unique shops near the apartment. Highly recommend!
