With a little effort - this could be a great location to stay at.

  • 3 of 5

After much thought I can't give this a 4 or 5 star rating. There were a few things that could have easily been fixed or planned for in advance. When we got to the house the code we were given didn't work, so the manager had to meet us at the house. It took a few times of her coming and going to get a code that worked. The boats weren't by the lake yet, so as we were all getting ready for dinner her and another gentlemen drove their truck over and started to unload them at the lake. They set out a hammock and placed the small fire pit in it's proper location. I appreciated it, but these are things that should have been done prior to our arrival as we had had it booked for about a month and a half. The toaster hadn't been cleaned out in a while. When we went to use it it looked like there was a burned up cookie in it so we cleaned it. The dishwasher didn't work (which wasn't a big deal, but it's worth a mention) and there was a light out above the dining room table out which made playing games a little less enjoyable since it was tough to see. The location slept 8, but there weren't 8 seats in the living room. When I went to bed I noticed a brown stain on the pillow I was to use. The shower had doors on it that often fell off of the track. The knives in the kitchen were basically unusable. Even with a sharpener they just didn't slice. Every couple said the bed was uncomfortable because they were very hard. I know the firmness of the bed is preference, but it's worth noting if someone else is considering this location and they don't like firm beds. Lastly, the dock to the lake was broken and just pushed up against the shore, so you really had to stay on land to fish. It was too cold to swim, but it didn't look like swimming water at all. With all that said, and this might be because of the company I was with, we had a great time and were truly sad to leave. Since this was the first time booking a vacation home, we now know what questions to ask and what to look for during our next day. So, just like the title says.. this could absolutely be a 5 star rated home if the few fixer upper type things had been taken care of prior to our visit. I do recommend this place, but just be wary of the few things I listed above.

Awesome Upstate Getaway House!

  • 5 of 5

Great home for a quick Upstate NY getaway. The house was clean, roomy and very comfortable. The tennis court on property and kayaks to use in the lake where a big plus!. Homeowner was a pleasure to communicate with; we would defiantly return.

A great weekend spent at this beautiful house

  • 4 of 5

We rented this house for a weekend getaway with some friends. This house is gorgeous with a huge outdoor property with lake access. The private tennis was a huge plus. We mostly used the outdoor area, where we grilled, kayaked and played outdoor games. The weekend was truly memorable for us and a big credit for that goes to this house.

The only negative for this house is that, there are 2 bathrooms out of which one is attached to the master bedroom. So it was a bit difficult to use between friends as a couple was using the master bedroom.

We would definitely come back and hopefully stay for longer than just a weekend.
