The apartment takes up the entire top floor of 49 The Strand in Walmer, Deal. The accommodation consists of a spacious sitting room with dining area, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. The sitting room has two windows to the front overlooking Walmer Green and the sea. It is comfortably furnished with two sofas, TV and dining table seating 4. The front bedroom also has a great sea view and has a double size divan bed. The back bedroom has two single beds. The bathroom is equipped with bath with shower, WC and washbasin. The kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
The property is clean and well maintained. It has everything needed for a pleasant and comfortable stay. There were a number of leaflets, booklets and maps of the local area in the apartment which helped us to decide on the places we wanted to visit . The location is ideal - from the living room and the main bedroom there are views of Walmer Green and out to sea , while being within easy walking distance of the centre of Deal with bus services and a railway station. In fact, one bus route passes along the Strand with a bus stop outside the property. We received very good customer service, receiving the keys and additional information several weeks before our stay, with a padded self addressed envelope enclosed for the return of the keys.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the castles in the area. We spent nearly six hours at Dover Castle including guided tours of the communication tunnels and the underground hospital, spent a sunny afternoon at Walmer Castle and gardens and explored Deal Castle including the underground tunnels.The time ball museum in Deal was interesting and informative and the remains of the Roman amphitheatre near Sandwich impressive. Canterbury with its historic buildings is also very impressive while Sandwich with its medieval buildings is enchanting. We were very interested in the contrasting harbours of Dover and Ramsgate and the shopping areas in all the towns we visited.
We spent an enjoyable afternoon on Walmer Green listening to a brass band concert. We did not go to any restaurants - but we can recommend the fish and chip shop on the Strand, opposite Walmer Green. We would recommend this property to friends and relatives. One proviso : most of our friends are our contemporaries, that is, in their seventies so a second floor apartment would not be suitable for all of them.
We both really liked Deal.It was not your usual seaside resort,all amusement arcades,noise,trinket shops and takeaways.The flat location was good, the street parking was no problem and the choices of eating out was just about O.K for one week as there didn't seem to be many suitable options.The view from the flat was really good with many beautiful sunrises.I am glad I took my binoculars for all of the passing ships.The only thing to spoil all of this was the general shabbiness of the flat,the bathroom especially.So many things give you the impression of tasks being started but not fully finished off.What a pity !!! I would have happily paid more were that not the case.

There was everything we needed
The flat is larger than it looks in the photo's
The views are wonderful and the lounge is great
The only negative is the double bed
It could do with a matress topper
Apart from that, everything was wonderful
Easy to warm up and only had the heating up to 15
Hope to stay again in the near future

Très bel appartement, grand et propre, très bien situé, face à la mer. Un seul petit bémol, je pense que le frigo mérite d'être changé.
C'était un très bon pont de départ pour visiter le Kent. Nous avons séjourné avec nos deux filles de 4 ans et tout s'est bien passé. Je recommande!
Great, large and clean flat, well situated on the sea front. Just a slight drawback, I think that the fridge needs to be changed.
It is a good place to visit the Kent. We stayed with our two four-year daughters and everything went right. I recommend it!

The views are lovely and the beds and sofa are very comfortable.
There are plenty of nice restaurants within walking distance - 81 Beach St and Three Compasses - make sure that you book.

This is a great appartment for a stay in Deal. Great location - right on the sea front (parking was generally easy enough) with lots of amenities very close (indian restaurant/takeaway; chinese; fish and chips; pubs; cafes; chemist, paddling pool (!) etc), maybe a 10 minute walk into the centre of Deal. The flat itself is larger than it looks in the photos, good sized rooms, very clean and pretty well maintained. Be aware that it is on the second floor so there are quite a few steps to get up to the flat itself, so maybe not great with very young children and prams, but our youngest (2 and a half) managed well enough most of the time. Owner is easy to deal with and helpful. Excellent value, we'd have no hesitation staying again.
The flat is located on the top floor of 49 The Strand in Walmer, Deal and enjoys fantastic views of the beach and the English Channel across to France. Deal is famous for Deal Castle, built by Henry VIII and Walmer Castle, which is the official residence of the Warden of the Cinque Posts. Deal Castle is close by and Walmer Castle but a relatively short walk away from the flat. There are two excellent golf courses, Cinque Ports in Deal and Kingsdown and Walmer golf club are close at hand. The golf course in Sandwich, where the British Open was held in 2011, are 7 miles away. There are numerous places of interest near Deal, such as Caterbury, Dover, Ramsgate or Sandwich and many stately homes, gardens and wild life reserves to visit.

Bookings can be accepted only from Saturday to Saturday. There are no extra charges for gas or electricity. Bed linen is provided. To confirm a booking, a deposit of 25% of the amount involved is required. The balance is payable 3 weeks before your stay starts. A discount of 10 percent is offered on repeat bookings.
