On the Cycladic island of Tinos, in the middle of nature you will find this delightful cottage. Orange Grove Cottage is a unique stone house that stands protected from the wind, surrounded by an olive and an orange grove. The estate belonged then to the Ursuline Convent and was created especially for the students to wander, play in its beautiful gardens, harvest its oranges and enjoy! This part of the land is called ‘Perivoli’ (garden) as its fruits and vegetables were used to feed more than 400 inmates, while the variety of herbs ‘equipped’ the Convent’s famous ‘pharmacy’. Here you shall also find our famous Linden tree.
The house has a bedroom with a double bed and raised fireplace, a large living room and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The build-in sofa in the living room becomes a comfortable semi-double bed. The huge veranda looks out to the oak trees and the Linden tree, the dove cots, the magnificent village of Xinara and the mountain of Exomburgo.
The house relies exclusively on the solar panels for electricity and hot water, while cooking is done with the use of gas.
You can find all the necessary ingredients for cooking in our organic garden, fruits that you can cut straight from the trees and shrubs of the premises. A welcome basket full of our organic vegetables, fress eggs, milk and homemade marmelades will wait for you at your arrival!
