Kitchen area includes dishwasher electric hob, oven, extract, freezer and fridge. Patio doors lead out to private patio area and pool. Downstairs bedroom with en-suite shower room. Main bathroom includes bath, shower sink and toilet. washing machine and dryer located in bathroom. Two twin bedrooms upstairs with oak floors and vellum windows and blinds. Pine furniture, wardrobes and bedside tables.

I work in the music industry, and do a lot of work for independent record labels around the world, though I spend my Summers here in France. I am located very close to the house, so if there are any issues please let me know.
When I'm not working I enjoy swimming, running, cycling and exploring. Anything adventurous floats my boat...oh yes, and boating!

Our family made up of two adults and two teenagers stayed in the barn at the beginning of August 2016. We were welcomed enthusiastically by Ed on arrival. He is a thoughtful host and was ready to offer tips about the area throughout the week.
There was plenty of room for us in the barn intended for 6 people. The two identical bedrooms upstairs each have twin beds, blinds on the velux windows to keep the atmosphere cool and wardrobes/drawers for storage. Down a level is the modern bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer. (Washing tablets were thoughtfully provided, but a washing line outside/clothes airer/pegs would also be useful.) Downstairs is the master bedroom with comfortable king size bed. Drawers for storage again and the en suite has a decent shower. We slept really well and were not disturbed by the church bells! The open plan living area is substantial, with a huge dining table, sofas, English T.V and modern well-equipped kitchen area. Washing up liquid, bin bags, cling film etc. were all provided!
Outside there was also plenty of room. Next to the barn is a BBQ area and table and chairs. There is a grass area big enough for a game of football and more seating and sun loungers next to the pool which we had to ourselves!
The barn is situated in a quiet village which is great if you are after a peaceful retreat. 'Le Relais' is the only facility in the village. It is a bar/restaurant literally two minutes form the barn. We enjoyed pizzas there our first night. During our stay, we were also lucky enough to experience the 'village en fete'. Basically a get-together for all the locals in the market square.
Top recommendation for a nearby budget visit is the lake at St Estephe. The lake is good for swimmers of all ages with imported sand and we also went for a nice walk through the trees and used a foot ferry to get across the lake. There are plenty of snack bars/restaurants, picnic tables and loos! The best advantage of coming to this lake is that everything is free - from the parking to the canoes!
Brantome is a small, pretty town which is busy, but also worth a visit.
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this property and may return there again!
Very comfortable for the 5 of us and Edward very accommisating of any little extras we needed.
Small village France but great to go in all directions. Sarlat, Rocamadour, Perugueux. Brantome, Oradour sur Glane. Plenty of just relaxing around the pool.
Highly recommended and great to have things like a dishwasher and washing machine.
We have just had a fantastic 2016 family holiday at Les Vergers. The house, garden and pool were perfect for two adults and three wee girls. We loved the peace and quiet of the village and managed a few trips to the tennis court and evening visits to the bar. Ed was a great host and it was good to have him handy for pointers on where to go and what do locally. The Etang at St Estephe is definitely worth a visit for the beach, the canoes and the 'ferry'. The weather was fantastic and the Dordogne is truly a beautiful spot for a family holiday. We hope to back to Les Vergers some time soon.
Het huis was goed en in overeenstemming met de foto's en het was een prima zwembad.
Helaas was het huis niet schoon en de eigenaar heeft beloofd ons de schoonmaakkosten terug te betalen.
We hebben de eigenaar maar heel kort, alleen bij aankomst, gezien.
De tuin was behoorlijk groot, maar nogal onverzorgd.
We zouden dit huis nu niet aanbevelen, maar met een betere verzorging zou het heel goed kunnen worden.
The property is in the village of Champniers-et-Reilhac which is 5km south of St Mattieu and a 20 minute drive north of Nontron. The nearest airport is Limoges which is 45 minutes to the north east. St Mathieu boasts a magnificent man made lake and beach! There is plenty to do here, boating, swimming, sunbathing or eating at the restaurant. In Champniers you will find a tennis court (free), Le Relais, post office, the mayors office and a church all within walking distance of the houses (50 metres!)

Tenancies begin at 16:00 local time on the day of arrival and end at 10:00 on the day of departure. Whilst we will always try to be flexible depending on your circumstances this is not always possible, so we recommend that you arrange you flights/ferry/travel times in line with the above to allow the cottages to be prepared for the next visitors.
Early arrivals or late departures can be arranged, though must be agreed in advance by the owner.
We do not allow large single sex parties or groups entirely made up of adults under 25 years old, so if in doubt please clarify with reservations before booking.
Occupancy levels must be strictly adhered to in accordance with those detailed for each cottage description.
Health and safety
We are very conscious that a successful holiday must be a safe holiday. ‘Frenchtorent’ has a health and safety policy that is carefully monitored and measured by a proven risk assessment programme.
Maintaining your cottage
In order to maintain our high standards the owners have to arrange a regular schedule for people to clean the pool, attend the garden and carry out minor repairs throughout the season. We would appreciate your co-operation in allowing reasonable access to trades people.
