This is an Absolutely Charming Little Granny Pod.
I had a 3 night stay with 3 of my favorite ladies. We had so much fun. It seems much larger than the square footage would make you think. We were so comfortable. The beds were heavenly. What brand are those mattresses? I want one. It was the holiday season, so the surround sound system was truly appreciated. We tried to count how many speakers were in the house, but we kept losing count. Somewhere in the 20s. We left a gift of a new battery for the adorable tuna can clock which was dead. Next time, and there will be a next time, we plan to bring a refrigerator magnet from our home towns to add to the one on the refrigerator.
I guess it really only gets about 4.9 stars because no place is perfect although this one is very close. It needs a full length mirror somewhere. The only mirror is the one over the sinks in the bathroom. That can be a little challenging for 4 ladies. Some type of anti slip mat would be appreciated for the tub. 3 of us are over 60 and we were a little anxious in the shower. I was nervous about the top bunk of the bunk bed as I am a plus sized lady, so we just put the mattress on the floor with the foot of it in the closet. Worked perfectly. The outside garbage can was full, so we could not put the trash out when we left. I hope that wasn't a problem for the cleaners.
The dining table was perfect for game playing. The deck is adorable, though too cold for us to use this time. All of the skylights letting in as much sun as there was in December were fabulous. Might be a little challenging in the summer months. I have seen skylights with some kind of retractable shade on them. Perhaps when it is time to do some renovating you can add them.
I guess the one thing that I really hated was the stupid toilet paper holder. That must have been invented and placed by a man.
These are all the tiny nit-picky things most people would never comment on because there are bigger things to mention. In this little cottage there are no big complaints. I absolutely loved it. The location was great. Major arteries nearby, but the way it is situated traffic noise was no problem at all. The decor was a bit hit and miss, but the amenities were fabulous. Plenty of basic supplies like aluminum foil, salt, pepper, and condiments.
Can't wait for the next visit. I have talked it up to so many people. It is really only for a maximum of 4 adults. I am thinking about building one like it to be my own granny pod! Thank you for a wonderful time.
This is our second stay at Frank's place and we had another perfect experience. Comfortable and surprisingly roomy even though the square footage says about 600 sq. ft. Very well equipped with free access to Netflix and great coffee just steps away at "Green Bridge".
Perfect place to stay
Adorable house very comfortable and great location.
Had a great time.
Although small, this was a great place to stay. We will book the same place the next time we are in Portland.
Fully loaded tiny cottage
I loved my stay here! This cottage seriously has everything. Even surround sound, which I couldn’t figure out how to work, but I’m not tech savvy lol. Each room has its own thermostat. The place does have some condiments and cooking items, so check in before you hit the grocery store. I felt very secluded and out of the city, but the city was really only 15 minutes away. I’m hoping to stay here next time I come to visit.
Great central location for sight seeing!
This was a great central location to do all the sight seeing and hiking we wanted to do! We managed to see Cannon Beach, Astoria,Mount Hood, Mount St Helen and Multnomah Falls all within a relatively short drive. There was a restaraunt within walking distance with great food and beer! Comfortable and clean accommodations! Grocery store nearby. The owner was very prompt in returning messages and answering any questions we had. This is one of the few places I could find that was not part of another property and we enjoyed the privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the ease of the transaction. The owner was also very nice in allowing an early check in. Will recommend this place to others!
