Although it is brand new, the design and atmosphere of the West Wing Cottage is reminiscent of the gorgeously decadent 1920s. Oak trim from the owner's private estate in Carmarthenshire, quarter-sawn American oak wide plank flooring in the living area, blonde maple wood flooring specially imported from Canada in the bedrooms and heritage style bathrooms combine to make this property a seafront delight.

Walk out of the French windows onto the paved patio complete with table & chairs, then on down to your own private large lawn that extends out towards the sea. The attention to detail in West Wing Cottage will make you want to return again and again. Long lazy summer days gazing out over the water, croquet on the lawn, picnics at the water's edge and fishing off the rocks. Sit out on the lookout at sunset with a glass of wine and watch the sky and the sea light up with spectacular colours. Summer weekends often see a regatta in the bay with drifts of sailboats dotting the water. In the winter months the sun rises low over to the south-east producing some of the most beautiful sunrises with the colours in the sky reflected on the water.

The living area has a huge and incredibly comfortable 3 seater sofa, plus matching armchair. Flooring is burnished wide plank American oak. If you decide to eat in then choose from breakfast or a light lunch at the breakfast bar or sitting down at the large dining table to enjoy a leisurely dinner. Alternatively eat al fresco on the patio, picnic on the seas edge under the pergola or on your lawn. Back in the cottage after a busy day at the beach or sightseeing sit back and relax while watch a movie on the 52' large flat screen TV/DVD or listen to some music on the stereo. You will find leaflets and information on the beaches and local attractions, board games, cards, DVDs and books to entertain you: plus a ping pong table and laundry with large American style washing machine and dryer in the utility room. High speed internet access is provided via Wi-fi broadband so you can keep in touch by email with business or friends & family.

The kitchen features pastel sea foam cabinetry, easy care ceramic tile floor, light ivory tile worktops and built in appliances including oven, dual function microwave, hob & dishwasher. Separate larder with food prep area and tall fridge/freezer.

Westwing Cottage has 2 master bedroom suites, both with 18' thick top quality mattresses on the beds and own private bathrooms. Beds have hypoallergenic pillows and duvets. Our Housekeeping Service make up the beds with fresh crisp white linens. Bedroom 1 has a king size sleigh bed, Juliet style balcony and bathroom with shower and cast iron double-ended tub. Bedroom 2 overlooks the entrance gardens and has a huge and superbly comfortable super king bed, upholstered window seat, heritage style furnishings and bathroom with large tiled walk-in shower. As an extra luxury, as you enter the bedroom there is a curtained alcove with a Victorian style cast iron slipper bath to relax in.

Imagine yourself sitting by a glass lookout at sunset gazing out over the azure waters of Torbay. It really does not get any better than this! Your private garden also includes a long shady pergola, glass sunroom with conservatory furniture and a large lawn. If the strawberries, raspberries or blackcurrants, apples or pears are in season just help yourselves during your stay.

Follow the path through the fruit garden and open the oak gate that leads down the steps to another 2 lookouts. Steps lead down to the edge of the sea where you can fish and explore the rock pools.

The Torbay area has over 20 superb beaches for you to explore, some with the coveted Blue Flag status. So if you love long stretches of sand or picturesque small coves you can visit a different beach every day. Or just pull out a sun lounger, lie back in the garden and enjoy the sea air and sunshine.

Stunning holiday cottage for four adults with a wonderful large garden.

Astounding views from several vantage points around the garden taking in all of Torbay.

the west wing rockside torquay.

  • 4 of 5

what a view over looking Torbay. We had a lovely relaxing week. visiting Paignton & Torquay. And taking the ferry to Brixham (£3 return yes £3) rockside is well situated for a base for exploring Torbay and the south west. Rockside was just a lovely place to enjoy it for itself.

eastwing and waterside are both easily the best holliday homes in torquay

  • 5 of 5

arrived at westwing on the 21st april and it is a wonderful cottage the

pictures do not do it justice, the views over tor bay are fantastic and the two other seating areas in the cliffs offer great views of the bay.unfortunatly i was taken into hospital for 5 days on the tuesday and as soon as jenny found out offered us the cottage for a 3ed week at half price this was so kind thank you jenny.there is nothing you could want that has not been provided here the beds are fantastic as are the furnishings in the lounge everything you want is in the kitchen and even a ping pong table in the laundry room.the gardener and his son calls every thursday and if you make then a coffee and can of pop they will tell you the history of the properties, the only thing that might be a problem to anyone disabled would be the spiral staircase which my partner can manage someone with severe disabilities might struggle but in that case waterside next door has straight stairs,in fact i have booked waterside for 3 weeks next year already.overall i have stayed in holliday homes costing more than twice the price and none compare to these properties so thanks again jenny and bob for a wonderful holliday steve and sandra

Can’t fault the setting.......

  • 3 of 5

Beautiful situation overlooking the sea. Bedrooms and bathrooms excellent and spotlessly clean. A few missing essential items from kitchen and living room which the Housekeeper did her best to sort out as quickly as possible, even getting a sticking lock on front door changed. The photographs of living room on Website are no longer current as the furniture has been changed and it seemed overfilled with large items.

Perhaps it would be fair to give more of a warning about the very steep wooden spiral staircase which although we’re reasonably fit, we all found tricky to negotiate particularly with suitcases or carrying anything.

All this aside when the sun shone it was idyllic in the garden overlooking the wonderful views.

Amazing break with amazing hosts

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much to Jenny and Julia we had an amazing family break thankfully the property is amazing as we got snowed in but we had so much to enjoy on site it didn’t matter. Thank you again for keeping us safe by giving us an extra night while we were snowed in with a little one with us we really appreciated not having to try and drive home in the snow especially as the car couldn’t even get out of the drive. We hope we get to come and stay again as we really enjoyed it. Matt & Nickie

Torquay is enjoying something of a renaissance with British visitors and the same things which have always attracted travellers still hold true: sun, sand and a sense of fun. At the turn of the century grand villas and mansion houses were built to welcome visitors and they still grace much of this elegant seaside town. Today, Torquay remains very much a seaside resort and its heartbeat is the picturesque harbour. Lined with a good mix of cafes, bars, top-class restaurants and great shopping. Around Torbay 20 beaches and coves are doted along 22 miles of coastline including Torre Abbey Sands and around the Bay to the sheltered coves of Meadfoot and the rock pools at Corbyn Head. Walkers can follow the south west coastal path and discover deserted coves and amazing vistas out across the sea. Nearby attractions include Brixham fishing harbour, the spectacular cliff top nature reserve of Berry Head, Dartmouth and delightful Cockington village with its thatched cottages and tea rooms.
