Our house is located exactly in Pozzale a quiet villagge over Pieve di Cadore, out of the noise and the traffic, with the forest around, a big lawn from where you can enjoy an amazing view on the mountains.
We live at the ground floor, at your disposal for any help.
The apartments are in the mansard all wood furnishing. In the garden you have barbecue, tables, slide and swings for the children. Private parking. WIFI free.
Our area, called Dolomiti of Centro Cadore, it is full of trekking and climbing opportunity in summer time and mountaineering ski and snowshoewing in winter time. Huts are open in the winter weekend too.
Very close to us there is the Centro Cadore lake, the Caralte Adventure park that is very funny, the Biking route 'Ciclabile delle Dolomiti' : you can reach Cortina and the Austria always on the bicycles.
In Pieve di Cadore, the main village , there is the hospital, museums, pharmacy, restaurants and pizzeria. In this village the famous Tiziano painter was born.
We are 30 Km from Cortina d'Ampezzo, 30Km from Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Misurina lake, 35 Km from Val Badia. 20 Km from Auronzo di Cadore.

Here you find the' REAL MOUNTAIN LIFE'.....write us to learn more about!
I'm Nicoletta and Diego is my husband. We have two wonderful boys, Giovanni 10 years and Pietro 5.
I moved from Venice to Dolomites some years ago. Diego is a real mountain man, born and grow up in Dolomites. I always loved mountains and mountain sports so when I met Diego I understood 'the way to follow'. I left my job ( I worked in a famous art gallery) and my house.....and I changed my life. Diego let me loved mountains more and more, mountains are his life and his job.... we travelled a lot around the world climbing and trekking until Giovanni arrived so we had to stop....then Pietro arrived and we had to stop.....But only for the moment...as soon as they have the right age we start traveling again around the world!!!!
Nicoletta purchased this apartment in 2007
When we decide to buy our home we spent months and months around the Cadore valley to visit many many houses in many different village but nothing was ok for us. We wanted to stay in Cadore valley because it is Diego family place but out from the crowd, for living in a place where you can still breath the mountain spirit, where you can see animals, where you can stay in peace... This is the reason why we choose Pozzale.....only one little food shop, the bakery (fresh bread every morning), post office 3 times a week...this is all and I can tell you that it is enough...here you can find yourself and stay in peace....When we need people and noise, restaurant, cinema...no problem : Pieve di Cadore is 3 minutes driving and Cortina is 30 Km far from us...
The view from our house is really wonderful, you have to come and see...it is very open, starting from the left side you see the Montanel mountain, Monfalconi, Spalti di Toro, Picco de Roda and Duranno..all different Dolomiti groups.. We are one of the last house of the village going up on the hill, we are high 1100mt, and from here you don't hear noise, only wind and animals. In winter time and summer time we have sun all day long (very rare in the mountain village). From here I start walking in the forest in summer time and with mountaineering ski in the winter. The first time we saw this house we felt in love immediately....we bought and the year later we started renting rooms first and then apartments.... The biggest part of our clients after the first time they come again..it is like a refuge....And this is the best part of renting apartments...to find friends from all the world...

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we were made to feel incredibly special by the owners. The area is beautiful but quiet and is away from the very busy tourist areas. Lots of varied climbing, running and, despite it being May, skiing! The apartments were beautifully maintained - clean, traditional and homely, well provisioned and facilities were excellent. Nicoletta left small gifts for us to welcome us to the apartment which was a lovely touch. The apartments were private, warm and well maintained. The owners are keen outdoor enthusiasts with a family and were able to advise on the best climbing and routes for the current conditions - they even lent us several guide books during our stay. I was 7 months pregnant as well as us being keen climbers and they were able to suggest appropriate classic climbs at higher altitude for me as well as the best local sports climbing venues. This area was lovely to visit out of season and there was still plenty to do very locally despite unprecedented snow remaining this late in the season. The apartment would suit families as well as more serious climbers visiting. The apartment was incredibly reasonably priced also and worked out much cheaper than even the cheapest hostel accommodation for us. I HIGHLY recommend this as an excellent place to stay for everyone and I can't think of anything negative to say about our stay there!
The standard of the accommodation was extremely high, especially when compared to a typical ski apartment. The main bedroom is very spacious, the kitchen is reasonably well equipped and there is lots of outside space to enjoy the sun when it shines.
Nicoletta and Diego are extremely friendly and helpful. Diego was able to provide lots of advice on places to climb and walk, even lending us books we were unable to get hold of in the UK. It was a pleasure to spend our holiday with them and their family.
The village of Pozzale feels very untouristy. It has a bar, bakery and a mini-market. There are some walks from the door but most days out will involve driving. Cortina is about a 45 minute drive, although there is an excellent bus service from Pieve. Being away from the main tourist areas adds some inconvenience but this is more than compensated for by quiet off the beaten track places that are local to Pozzale.
This was our first time traveling to the Dolomites. Our stay was perfect and the location above the valley gave us a real sense of the area. The apartment was perfect for our family of 4. Everything we needed was provided with ample room to make it our home. We booked for 3 nights but actually stayed for 4 nights as we had so much fun. Nicoletta and Diego are superb hosts. Diego is a certified mountain guide so he was able to show us where to go hiking, and best of all we spend 2 days doing adventures, Via Ferrata and climbing in the surrounding mountains something I would only do with a skilled knowledgeable guide like Diego. I highly recommend booking a few days with Diego as he is from the area and can show you the mountains in a safe and enjoyable manner. After exciting days of climbing and hiking it was great to come back to this home above the valley to watch the amazing sunsets and relax in the garden area around the house.
Overall, we look forward to going back for a longer stay as we had a great relaxing time and we loved the Dolomites and area and this apartment was perfectly located for our adventure.
A very quiet house, at the top end of a typical mountain village, with amazing views on the mountain ranges. Friendly Nicoletta and Diego, the owners of the hourse, will make you feel at home and give you helpfull advices on the many walks and outdoor activities of Cadore region.
Can only warmly recommend to try a stay!
Just returned from a wonderful week in the west apartment. The views from the house are stunning and the village of Pozzale is qiuet. The owners, Nicoletta and Diego are wonderful hosts and really made us feel welcome. Pieve di Cadore the town right next to Pozzale has everything you need.
We enjoyed being able to walk straight out of the front door into the forest and mountains behind the house.
Diego, who is a ski instructor and mountain climber gave us lots of ideas for walks and trips in the area.
We would thoroughly recommend this apartment for anyone who loves being close to nature.
The villa stands very close to the forest, surrounded by a big lawn from where you have a wonderful view of the Cadore Dolomites. Our typical mountain village of Dolomites, called Pozzale di Cadore, located at height of 1100 mt. on the buttresses of the Antelao mountain, it is away from the traffic and the noise, a peaceful place where you can enjoy the nature. The two flats, all wooden furnishing, are in the mansard. In summer time, without moving the car, you can go hiking, climbing, mountain biking or looking for mushrooms in the woods. In winter time Pozzale is a paradise for mountaineering ski and snowshoes. The famous Dolomiti bikeway starts ten minutes from here and you can reach Cortina, Dobbiaco, San Candido, and Lienz always by bike in this safe route. Cortina d’Ampezzo and its wonderful ski area is only 35 minutes by car, and the San Vito ski area only 20 minutes from here. The Cadore offers many paths and many huts to reach, with wonderful landscapes. In Pieve di Cadore, the Tiziano painter home town, there are also some Museums to visit, pizzerie, good restaurants.
Other Activities: Nordic walking, mountaineering ski, snowshoes, country ski
Ski: In our area there are many possibility to practice mountaineering ski and snowshoes: we organize daily tour to show you our area. Cortina, San Vito di Cadore with their wonderful ski area are very close: and we organize ski lessons or ski tours to discover the best places of Dolomites: Giro dei quattro passi, Tour della grande guerra, Armentarola, Val Badia, Plan de Corones, Val Pusteria... Everything with a ski instructor and mountain guide.
