Casa La Aldea is a beautifully situated property in the tropical landscaped La Aldea development, which is on Punta de la Mona in La Herradura. There are wonderful sea views from its welcoming terrace, living, and dining room. The terrace has all day sun and a shady Kasbah for lounging. It has plenty of space for dining and relaxing day or night with its atmospheric lighting, outside furniture, and barbecue area. Downstairs are 3 bedrooms and there are 2 bathrooms. There is TV, a library in the feature tower, and a collection of games. The house has cool sea breezes and is beside the quiet pool set in a subtropical garden. Casa Aldea is a home that is ideal for families and couples as it offers peace and quiet, yet is close to the many beaches, restaurants, and bars. For the active there is golf, diving, snorkeling, tennis, table-tennis, horse riding, sailing and windsurfing within a few minutes. Granada’s Alhambra Palace, and the Sierra Nevada Ski resort are only an hour away.
We had a wonderful stay at this villa. It is very much as described - clean, tastefully furnished, bright and friendly. The outside terrace is its biggest asset - the ocean views are far reaching and it is a quiet, beautiful space. The living room is very cosy with an open fire for cooler nights. All the rooms are nice and have windows looking out onto something pleasant - flowers, greenery, pretty street or seascape. The villa is set in a truly beautiful development, in the most elegant and quiet area of La Herradura. La Herradura is a secret gem - peaceful, beautiful and friendly, without the rampant tourism one meets elsewhere on Spanish coasts.
We stayed at the villa with our two year old daughter and she loved every minute. She loved the beautiful swimming pool area very near the house and she had much fun playing on the outside terrace. La Herradura is very child friendly - friendly restaurants, nice playparks and a big, pebbly beach! We particularly liked that we could walk into town from the villa (about 15-20mins), rather than having to drive.

We have recently returned from an extended break in La Herradura and it was made all the more special by having this wonderful property to stay in. There are plenty of restauranrts and bars in the village which is a scenic five minute drive away. The house has everything you could wish for with comfortable seating and dining areas, good sized bedrooms and a lovely spacious terrace with tables, sunbeds and tropical plants offering superb sea views. The Agent was always on hand if needed, although with all the arrangements put in place there was little that we needed to contact him about! We had such a good time that we have already booked our stay in this property for next year before it is 'discovered' and gets fully booked up!
La Herradura village is on the Costa Tropicale, approx 40 minutes by car east of Malaga. It is a horseshoe shaped bay between the headlands of Cerro Gordo and Punta de la Mona. La Herradura has retained its Spanish character with wonderful Fiestas and Easter parades. Picasso, the Spanish Royal family, & Andreas Segovia all had homes here. The village has supermarkets, a bakery, banks, a newsagent, medical services, pharmacy, hairdressers & a daily market selling fresh fish, meat, flowers, fruit & vegetables. The beaches and water are very clean, & there are many restaurants, bars with traditional flamenco entertainment. East of La Herradura 10 minutes away lies Nerja with its amazing caves & concerts in the summer. Almunecar is approx 7 minutes by car offering more shops & restaurants amongst its old Roman streets & squares. Granada and the Alhambra palace are an hour away & in Malaga the Picasso museum & the old quarter are fascinating to explore.
