Just to say how lovely your bungalow is. Mayfield exceeded our expectations, large, warm and comfortable it made our family holiday in Cornwall a memorable one. I wish we could have stayed another week, did not want to go home!
We have been returning to Gorran Haven for the past 12 years and I think we have found the perfect place to stay at Mayfield. The accomodation is the best we have seen, clean, welcoming and so relaxing sitting in the conservatory first thing in the morning reading the papers. Mayfield is definitely a home from home. Would recommend to anyone, although I'd prefer to keep as our secret holiday retreat!!
Sheltered between 2 headlands on the south coast. It has 2 sandy beaches, safe swimming, rock pools perfect for young children. This quaint friendly village with narrow streets and harbour, where holiday moorings are available and kayaks can be hired, offers holidays for all ages. If you want to spend time away from the beach you may like to visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project or the Cathedral Town of Truro all within easy reach, nearby the fishing village of Mevagissey you could take a boat trip to Fowey. If walking is your holiday there are stunning views from the coastal footpath, a walk to the nearby Dodmin Point is a must. The village has a local bakery/grocery, pub, restaurant and beach cafe, there is a local farm shop next to Heligan and supermarkets in St Austell. Other sports on offer, fishing trips from Mevagissey, or try your hand from our harbour wall, sailing and diving from nearby Pentewan or perhaps a round of golf in St Austell, and so much more !
