Hy-Timbrrs Lodge is a spectacular waterfront property located on Stinson Lake, one of the cleanest and most picturesque lakes in New Hampshire. The Lake is the largest body of water, at the highest elevation in the White Mountain National Forest. This beautiful property includes a one of a kind, 4750+ sq ft, hand hewn log home which can easily sleep 12 people comfortably. The Lodge has a huge outdoor deck. There is also a large screened in porch. The property has 450 feet of frontage on Stinson Lake and 450 feet of frontage along Three Ponds Stream. There is a large dock which can be used to secure a boat or just relax and take in the amazing panoramic views. There are 12 kayaks, with paddles and life jackets for you to use and enjoy the Lake. Explore mountain hiking trails right outside the door that promise a wilderness adventure for all. In the winter, there are snowmobile trails that run all the way from the Lake to the Mountains to downtown.

The Lodge has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The first floor boasts an open floor plan which includes the kitchen, dining room, and large living room with additional seating for reading or relaxing. Both the kitchen and dining room open out to the large deck with southern facing views of the Lake and Mountains. Enjoy the sun on the outdoor deck or head into the large screened in area and enjoy a freshly grilled meal, the mountain breezes and a cool drink. Attached to the kitchen is a mudroom, laundry room and bathroom.

The second floor consists of 4 high ceilinged bedrooms that comfortably accommodate 10 people. The master bedroom has a king size bed and large master bath with walk in closet. The first guest room contains a king size 4 poster bed. The second guest room has two single beds. The fourth bedroom area is a large bedroom/entertainment room including 2 twin beds with two trundles. The private tower allows additional sleeping with a double bed. You might decide to spend the day at our beach swimming or just relaxing on the dock or in a hammock. Take a paddle in one of our 12 kayaks and discover the beauty of the Lake out on the water.

Starting right outside our front door, enjoy an adventure hiking Stinson Mountain, Carr Mountain or the Three Ponds Trail (with gorgeous waterfalls). Stinson Lake is well stocked and provides excellent fishing opportunities. The wildlife includes, moose, deer, bear, loon, bald eagles, osprey, kingfishers, heron and so much more. After your daily adventures - come back to the Lodge and relax on the large outdoor decks while preparing dinner on our outdoor grill. Then star gaze by the fire pit by the Lake. Toast s'mores and tell camp fire stories that will be remembered for a lifetime.

How about a Fall Foliage Stay? The tremendous colors and amazing White Mountain vistas, country side beauty along with quaint Villages will be a scenic tour to remember. Hy-Timbrrs Lodge delivers in every season - whether it is summer sun, fall foliage or winter snowmobiling.

The Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family wanted a great, relaxing weekend to just get away and spend some time together. Hy-Timbrrs Lodge was the perfect getaway. It was absolutely what we had hoped for-a restful, beautiful, peaceful, perfect weekend.

First off, the location is absolutely beautiful! We were there over Memorial Day weekend and barely saw any boats, people, kayakers. It was the perfect, beautiful, serene location for a true getaway. The view was fantastic! The house is situated on a great, flat yard with plenty of room to play croquet, build a fire and have s’mores or let the kids run around and play. The lake is absolutely gorgeous. It was very shallow quite a way out in the water, so the kids could play or look for fish, etc. without us worrying about any deep water.

There is so much to do without ever leaving the property! The owners had a large number of kayaks ready for us to use for a paddle, to take out and fish, and have the kids paddle around on their own but still in view. Hiking was right outside with great trails, a waterfall, rivers and wildlife.

The house is a beautiful cabin and perfect for the setting. It was very spacious and clean and just what anyone would need for a group to enjoy the indoors or outdoors. We had plenty of space to move around, and everything we needed was taken care of for us already. The house was clean and had absolutely everything you would need for a vacation away. The little building on the property had everything we needed for outside-crouquet, lifejackets, s’mores sticks, soccer balls, etc. The owners even had the perfect fire all set up and ready to just light upon our arrival.

The owners were a pleasure to deal with and explained everything we would need for the house. It was a true please to meet them and stay at their beautiful cabin in the mountains! We all had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to return for another perfect weekend.

Owner's Response: Brian: Thank you for staying with us during Hy-Timbrrs Lodge’s 1st year on HomeAway & VRBO. We are pleased that you thoroughly enjoyed your vacation with us. It is very kind of you to point out so many of our guest friendly features. From the beauty and serenity of Stinson Lake, to the hiking and waterfalls right near the Lodge, the fire pit/s’mores, the kayaking as well as how children friendly and safe the lake water is right at our beach. Seeing a Black Bear and her Cubs - awesome! As you discovered, Hy-Timbrrs Lodge is a great destination for family fun and adventure. We hope to see the O’Reilly family again soon!

If peacefulness is your priority then this home will not suit you.

  • 2 of 5

The house itself was "as advertised". Very nice and clean, but the property had huge problems.

The major downfall is the location of a summer camp just next door. It belongs to the Romney Bible conference and hosts roughly 50-75 kids screaming for hours during the day and followed by very loud, irritating, live music nonstop till 11-11:30pm each night there (4 nights total).

The owner totally mislead us on this issue and assured me they would not be noticed. I had several conversations with other home owners on the lake who freely expressed their frustrations on the music noise. It was extremely disturbing and obnoxious.

If peacefulness is your priority then this home will not suit you.

The internet available to guests was frustratingly limited in speed and range so if you are a professional who needs reliable connection to your office you will be disappointed.

Finally, the shoreline was far too shallow to swim or fish from, even out at the very edge of the dock, the water was at best 18" deep, so if you have kids, there is no jumping and no fishing from the shore or the dock.

The home does have so much curb appeal and amenities, but this can't compensate for the truly disappointing proximity to a summer camp just 100 feet or so away.

Owner's Response: Mike - Again, please accept our condolences on the passing of your mother. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us your thoughts after your stay. Our goal is for all of our guests to enjoy a wonderful vacation at Hy-Timbrrs Lodge. Although never an issue in the past, with the assistance of our neighbors, we are addressing evening music noise. The Stinson Lake Association now has quiet hours beginning at 9 pm. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In addition, we have made sure that our internet and wifi are working properly. We appreciate you pointing out the numerous amenities we provide our guests as well as the great curb appeal of our property. All the best.

Almost perfect - five stars for accommodations, location, amenities - 4 1/2 for lake access

  • 5 of 5

Our gang of 2 Grandparents 4 adults and 6 children from 12 to 1 3/4 had a wonderful week at Hytimbrrs - the accommodations and location are spectacular- the house is spacious and inviting - the lawn was in constant use by all in rain or shine - as were the many kayaks provided by the owners- we supplemented the water craft with our own two inflatable paddle boards which proved to be a necessity to access the deeper waters for adult swimming activities and a canoe- which was great for taking little ones and us older ones that don't bend as well exploring - the screened in porch was perfect for shady afternoon rest time and lunch and dinner gatherings - the peace and tranquility of the neighborhood was perfect for sleeping - some of us enjoyed the occasional owls calling to each other- and on our last night - after a marathon final jig saw puzzle completion session - the grown ups gathered on the darkened deck to observe the unbelievable nighttime sky - almost woke up the little ones with a loud collective shout when we group witnessed a shooting star overhead- local rainy and cloudy day activities included visits to the Polar Caves and Squam Science Center both were great hits with everyone. The bald eagle flying low and picking a fish out of the water was an extra treat! The only minor negative was the very shallow water for quit a distance beyond dock and at this time of year a collection of decomposing leaves along the shoreline which was not real conducive to the little ones playing in the water. But they were no complaints as they enjoyed trips with their parents on the paddle boards to deeper waters. The lake waters are clean and clear and very quiet with only occasional fun loving tubing and water skiing activity. Our family has been doing these lake vacations for 6 years they voted unanimously at our last dinner - including the kids - that this place and week was the best so far and would definitely come back again - okay when asked the 4 year old said only if we had ice cream cones.

A big thank you to the owners Peter and Marla for sharing their wonderful home with our gang.
