This property boasts one of the best locations in the entire area. The lot is a peninsula, jutting directly onto the open waters of Niles Channel on the front side and offering protected dockage along a concrete seawall on the other side. 6Ft. draft directly on the open ocean, no weaving through miles of canals to get to the deep water-you're there!!
Experience everything aquatic without ever leaving your yard! Deepwater access for boating; fishermen and sailors have 6 ft. draft directly onto the ocean or bay (backcountry) sides. The deepwater on the canal side of the property allows snorkelers access to a virtual aquarium of sea creatures of all types, right here. Or wet your lines and catch dinner. For the sunbathers and toe-dippers, there is plenty of lounging area on the sandy point, and a little beach where
the kiddies can get wet and build their sandcastles!
This is a great house. All that is advertised. Planning next year's trip!
This Summerland Keys rental is beautiful! Situated on a large private lot with a small beach and wrap-around sea wall. The entire second story living area has an unobstructed view of the water. While the property has an abundance of hammocks and other seating, we spent most of our time on the large tiled porch. The view from the crows nest is incredible, and is much larger than appears in the picture…we spent many an evening up there star gazing.
A perfect location for the fisherman! Deep water, protected dockage around the house with freshwater rinse and electric. Easy access to shallow or blue water. Ice and frozen bait just up the road, and a fully stocked tackle store with live bait on Big Pine (see Kinsey at Lower Keys Tackle…won't be disappointed). Some very interesting snorkeling nearby too!
Renee and Nelson were fantastic! Long-time residents, they quickly brought us up to speed on the area. They keep the house and property in immaculate condition.
We highly recommend this house, and plan to return next year for a week or two!
We have been to the Keys multiple times but this is the first time we stayed in one place. The weather was not optimal but the rental exceeded our expectations! Even though there were houses close by,we felt secluded and so enjoyed the view from any deck but especially the first story porch. Renee and Nelson made every effort to make sure we had everything we needed. We hope to return for a month with our boat in the future. An outside shower and new T.V. would be a plus!
Me and my husband stayed here for our 10 year aniv. The property is absolutely beautiful. So many palm trees and plenty of hammocks to relax in while listening to the water and the breeze through the trees. The breeze was so nice, we turned off the a/c at night and opened the windows. The house is very charming and clean. It is not "fancy shmancy", you can actually relax and feel comfortable. The porch is amazing and a lot bigger than in the pics. The rooftop deck was also larger than we expected. There are hammock hooks up there too - we moved one up there and enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon siestas - it was amazing. My Facebook friends had seen my pics that I posted, and were already asking me about the place for their own vacation, before we even left. It was perfect for our time away. We hated to leave!
First time to the Keys and what a great time. We put the boat beside the house, except for sleeping we spent all of our down time on the huge porch. Snorkeling in the canal was great with fish and lobsters in the bulkhead walls and coral reef and then in came a barracuda at sundown, crazy. For a two couples of workaholics this was the most relaxing week I think I've ever spent. I actually ignored my phone. Excellent access to fishing flats and deeper water, snorkeling, food and not to far for the occasional trip into Key West for a pub crawl. I could write all night but instead I'll plot our return asap.
I had seen the picture on VRBO and when we arrived I was very pleased that it lived up to what I saw on line. I loved the tiki hut style of the house...the upper deck was the "topper". We sat up there on early evenings with our music and just enjoyed the view and the peacefulness. The location was perfect. Private and right on the water. Nelson and Renee were very helpful. We had one incident while we were there and they made sure it was fixed and we were satisfied. All and all a great get-away.
