We love the Kutzke Neighborhood and older homes - this is our second home here. My wife worked at Mayo Clinic for 38 years and living this close eliminated the need to contend with parking as she could easily walk to work. I worked for Augsburg College in Rochester and could bike to work which I much enjoyed after years of commuting.
email@example.com purchased this house in 2005
We lived in various outlying neighborhoods in Rochester for many years - neighborhood home, acreage and a townhome. We always enjoyed Rochester but we always drove to get downtown and to work. In 2002 we moved to a house in Kutzke and enjoyed the people we met and the older homes. In 2005 we purchased our second home in Kutzke and still enjoy our time here.
The woodwork, floors, layout and vintage windows first drew us in. We loved having the master bedroom on the main floor, which is uncommon for 1920's homes. The proximity to bike trails, Mayo facilities and downtown sealed the deal.
This home is cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. The living room with fireplace is especially welcoming! The location is ideal. With its loft suite and lower level, this cottage has plenty of room for multiple guests. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. Staying at this home was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to those needing or wanting to stay in Rochester for an extended period of time.
We live in Minneapolis, and my father was coming from Florida for heart surgery at Mayo. We needed a comfortable home with multiple bedrooms and easy access to both the Mayo facility, and to St. Mary's hospital (Mayo hospital), and this home was perfectly located for both facilities.
Wayne, the owner, made the whole transaction very easy, and sent great info about the area prior to our stay. The house was very comfortable as well as super charming. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, glasses, plates, etc., and there was a great supply of spices and staples.
The four bedrooms were each very nice, with two on the main level, a private loft with bath upstairs, and a fourth bedroom in the basement. We didn't use the basement, but it was set up nicely for an office space and a hang-out area.
The main level had a very comfortable family room with a grand piano and large-screen TV. The house is very well heated, so don't fear the Minnesota winters!
All in all, we had a great stay, and couldn't have asked for things to be better!
We rented this place because it's homey and quiet. It's in a great location to downtown, Mayo Clinic (10 minute walk), restaurants and shopping. The owner Wayne, is very nice and will help out with anything you might need.
Our family came to Rochester for a family reunion. Two family units stayed in this home which proved very comfortable for all with privacy provided on various levels of the home. The main living area is beautifully decorated including a fireplace, up-to-date technology and a baby grand piano. This home is centrally located and within minutes of any location within the Rochester area. The owner, Wayne, was easy to work with in planning our trip and extremely hospitable upon arrival. Highly recommend this property!
My husband and I look forward to staying in this comfortable home whenever we visit our daughter who lives and works in Rochester. The home is tastefully done with all of the amenities and comforts of home.
Minneapolis Group, in the review below, gives an excellent description of this lovely home. One of us enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs suite, and my husband and I enjoyed the very comfortable bed in the first-floor master. There is room for many more -- and plenty of space for all to spread out. The furniture is comfortable and decor very pleasing. We loved the eclectic artwork. Mid-stay, we took a two day trip to Fargo, and borrowed several music CDs from their 100+ selection for the drive. So nice to have.
Don't waste your money on a hotel. This home away from home is perfect for families, groups and Clinic visitors. Wayne, the owner, is wonderful to work with and very responsive.
