I have lived in National Parks for 40 years. I am presently working for Acadia National Park Tours out of Bar Harbor. I drive a tour bus ,giving the tour through the National Park. I am familiar with the human and natural history of this area.. I graduated in Agricultural Engineering . I am an avid hiker , biker and kayak person myself ....so If you have any questions about the island or outdoor activities I am well versed.
Heather purchased this House in 1992
Why Heather chose Seal Harbor
Center of outdoor activities in Acadia National Park.....quiet and private location in a very safe neighborhood in the woods with carriage trails only a very short distance away. One mile from a sandy beach and hiking mountains from the back door..
What makes this House unique
Walk or bike right into Acadia National Park right from the house or the Land and Garden Preserve (Rockefeller's old property) from the house. NO worries about finding a parking spot in the park , which can be hard in July and Aug. You can walk a mile or take a bus right to the Jordan Pond house restaurant.

Hidden Gem just outside Acadia NP
Awesome location! Only 0.2 miles from carriage trails. The property is on a very quiet lane with a beautiful fenced in front yard that our 3 small dogs loved. Garage was safe and secure for storing my bicycle. My only wish would be for 1 or 2 small window unit air conditioners as the house could be a little warm at times even with the fans.
Beautiful farm house in great location.
Loved staying 5 minutes outside of Acadia National Park. It was extremely convenient. We had everything we needed to cook 2 dinners and eat out on their lovely deck. It got up to 96 degrees one day...and would have loved air conditioning...but we survived and every room had one or more fans. Heather gave us a great lobster dinner recommendation. Everyone in our family had their own room. We had a great time!
Thank you for appreciating Carriage Trail Cottage! It IS the place to be in the park... in an area that you can still find a place to have to yourself. With summers getting warmer I will be looking into an air conditioner.
Thank you so much for your response. YOU were a fantastic group to have.
We enjoyed very much the house we stayed in. The area was great....not too far from Bar Harbor....or any other places we wanted to see. The house was just perfect for us....three couples....three bedrooms and basically two baths since the third bath was in the basement.
We had a great trip!
Awesome house, awesome location
This is a great rental. So close to the entrance of Acadia. A very quiet street; within walking distance of Seal Harbor Beach; great kitchen; and beautiful gardens and yard. We all had a wonderful time here and would hope to come again.
Carriage Trail Cottage is located up the Jordan Pond Road 1/2 mile from the Seal Harbor Fire station.on Blue Bell Lane.
Boarding Acadia National Park. There is a dog off leash area around a pond that is open to the public as well as miles and miles of carriage roads to bike ride or hike on. Close to the Jordan pond house for eating, kayaking, canoeing, walking, climbing. And less than a mile from the SEal Harbor Sandy beach. ocean kayaking, motor boating. lots of sightseeing areas to park the car at and hike to the ocean or mountains to see.
