This tastefully restored town house, once a typical fisherman's house, is situated in the centre of Alvor, walking distance to all ameneties but in a quiet street away from the bars and restaurants. The house is divided into 2 parts, the owner lives on one part. The part for rental is completely self contained. The renovations are to a very high standard and the large house comprises of an entrance hall, here we have the entrance door to the rental house, up the stairs to a landing here we finnd a bedroom with 2 single beds and a small varanda , from the lobby up the spiral stairs we come to the loft en-suite bedroom with a doubble bed and a large velux for some incredibble star gazing , back to the landing up 3 steps we find a stone clad shower room (this showeroom services the 1st bedroom) up 3 steps we have a small support kitchenette , through the glass corridor we come to 2 2 doors go down the external stairs and you find the dip cooling off pool, back up the stairs and into the L shaped living room (lounge) here we have a large cornner sofá and another double sofabed satélite T.V. sond system and the modem for wi-fi, this part of the house also benefits from air-con,, wooden stairs leading to upstairs bedroom en-suite, this bedroom too has a double bed and a small varanda overlooking the village. The L shaped living room leads to a dinning room with a large woodden table and then the kitchen is fully equiped, through the double doors into an outside patio BBQ dinning área with another large 6 seater table.. From here we access the third bedroom en-suite.The house is also available for long term winter lets

Full of character

Mario and Dora were perfect hosts.There if needed but given complete privacy.The house is in a perfect location.Close to restaurants,bars and beach.Tastefully converted, retaining character but also with every mod con.A real home from home.I would recommend this to any group of friends or a large family.

Perfect location

This apartment is in the ideal spot for enjoying Alvor center shopping and nightlife. You walk around the corner and you're there! Close to the beach as well! Lots of space and privacy between bedrooms. Kitchen adequately stocked with cooking supplies. Dishwasher, washing machine, good sized refrigerator. Tv worked well. Cooled down in the evenings with just a window open. We always found parking nearby for our car. It wasn't a problem (we stayed the last week of September)

To be noted: there are many steps/stairs between rooms. Be aware if you have trouble walking up stairs. Also, animal allergies: a dog lives on the premises.

Owners were welcoming and helpful! We enjoyed visiting with them.

Great house, perfect location!

This is a great house and exactly as described. Lots of space for everyone...we were a party of nine. Lovely outdoor space with barbecue which we used most evenings. Location could not be better for beach, restaurants and bars. Mario and Dora are excellent hosts and always around if you need them.

We would love to visit Alvor again and stay in this lovely house!!!

Fantastic location for everything

House was much bigger than we thought ideal for our grown up family....everybody had their own space. All amenities within the house were as described and just what we needed. Fantastically located within the village 2 minutes walk to shops, restaurants and daily market. The beach about 5 minutes walk was a daily trip for us.

Mario and Dora couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming.

We need to keep this house a secret!

We have just returned from 10 days in this lovely house and it really is a hidden gem. It is right in the centre of Alvor village within walking distance from the bars and restaurants. We were a group of six adults and the house was perfect for us. The property description is spot on and the plunge pool was great for cooling off whilst singing and drinking G & T's! Mario was really helpful and friendly from the first email enquiry that I submitted and both Dora and Mario are friendly and helpful.

We would definately recommend staying in the house and we will be returning.

On arrival after 9pm in the eve ,mario & dora met us at the front door and were very welcoming with there time to show us all the parts of this massive house it really is a lot bigger than his site suggests , was very clean and all the mod cons of your own home . mario was very helpful with advise in the area and also showed us the best way to get around . the location of the house is perfect as it is only 50 mtrs from the main st of bars , restaurants & shops . but with the added bonus of once you close your front door you could be a million miles from the hustle and bustle of it all , as you cannot here a sound . We would definitely recommend this house to anyone who is lucky enough to get it and Mario and Dora were always available to answer any question , but also never invasive of our space during our entire holiday , the two big bonuses were the pool that has the sun shine on it from about 2 pm and also the outside courtyard with table and chairs to enjoy a quite cup of coffee in the afternoon was so peaceful .

Alvor is a popular destination that combines a perfect beach holiday with local Portuguese life. There are numerous boat trips from the village - go to see the sunset and drink champagne, go to watch the dolphins watching or take a trip along the river. There is a bird sanctuary nearby, great walks, numerous golf courses, including the famous Penina Golf course as well as several beaches - both open white sand beaches and those hidden behind cliffs. There are dozens of restaurants catering for all tastes a short walk. There are sports bars, pubs and a reggae bar that serves the best 'Caipirinha' in the Algarve! There is everything you could possibly want and if you want to get away from it you can. On the other side of the river is the Meia Praia beach which goes to Lagos and passes through wetlands. The Monchique mountains are 30 mins away, the town of Portimão is a 10 minute drive away where there are theatres, cinema and festivals, the new Algarve Race Track is about 15 mins away.
