Modern, open, fully renovated mid-century home on 1/2 acre, located at North Arroyo, Pasadena. It has a 180 degree unobstructed view of the Rose Bowl, Brookside Park and Golf Course. Minutes to Old Towne Pasadena with abundance of shops, bars and restaurants. Great accessibility to Rose Bowl Parade Route.

Throughout the house, there are tall windows and sliding doors that let in natural light and offer spectacular views. These rooms also have walk-outs to a spacious patio with glass panel railings and gate. Beyond the gate, there are steps leading to a professionally landscaped tiered garden of fruit trees. The views are stunning whether one is inside or outside the house.

Nearby attractions include the Rose Bowl, Rose Parade Route, and miles of trails, all within walking distance. The home is also minutes from Freeways 134 and 210, which provide easy access to Los Angeles and other neighboring cities.

Thanksgiving week

Our family came back to this home for a second stay. Just as we experienced the first time we had a wonderful time! We feel so comfortable and content in this home. It had everything we needed to enjoy our time with our California family. We could sit out on the patio for hours just enjoying the view. Enjoyed a nice walk around the Rose Bowl on Thanksgiving! Perfect place to make great family memories!

fabulous experience

Wonderful house: beautiful setting with fabulous views from the patio, impeccably maintained house with everything needed for a pleasant stay. We cook dinners and the kitchen is the best equipped of any that we have rented through Home Away. Only place we have ever stayed at that had a lemon zester. Great location for getting where you want to go. John is a delight to work with. Hope to return in the near future,

GORGEOUS HOME WITH AMAZING VIEW IN PRIME LOCATION

My family and I stayed at this lovely home for over 3 months while our home was being remodeled. From the first moment we entered this home, we instantly fell in love with the wonderful decor, the abundantly well-stocked kitchen and the gorgeous view! This home is beautifully maintained with mahogany wood floors throughout and top of the line appliances in the kitchen. There is an expansive back yard/patio with comfortable outdoor furnishings which overlooks Brookside Golf Course and the Rose Bowl. We had many dinners on this patio watching the beautiful sunset. The bathrooms are well stocked with towels, hair dryers and all necessities. The location of this property is unbeatable--located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet only 10 minutes away from the lively action of Old Town Pasadena with its many upscale shops and restaurants. We made this house our home away from home for 3 months and it not only met but exceeded all of our expectations. The owners were easily reached via email for any questions and the response time was extremely fast. We have stayed at many VRBO properties and this particular home deserves more than 5 stars!

Poor experience

Buyer beware when booking this house!

My family stayed here for 7 nights. While the house itself was very nice, what happened afterwards was inexcusable. We put a deposit down, which the owner cashed immediately. On our last day, we made sure to leave the house clean and tidy, following any directions given. After our stay, he gave us less than half of the deposit back, saying that we had "used too many towels" and "left garbage cans full." The number of towels used or that the trash cans had to be emptied was never mentioned in the agreement. The owner seemed especially distraught over the amount of towels used. If there had been instructions not to use them, we wouldn't have.

He also reported a small stain on the deck. We sent multiple requests to please provide evidence for any stain or a receipt for the materials he needed to purchase to clean said stain. He refused to show any evidence for taking part of our deposit. If we had caused a real stain, we would have been happy to pay for the cost to clean it, however we believe it to be wholly unreasonable to take money without providing any evidence at all. My family has never had any issue like this, and we stay in short term rentals such as this frequently.

While this is a beautiful house, I would not want anyone to experience the stress and loss of money that we did. Please think twice before booking here.

Owner's Response: All other reviews have been 5 out of 5 I have never withheld damage deposit before. One can tell that the damage deposit taken off was for very good reasons. I should have taken MORE. I emailed the renters the second last day of their stay for an address with the intention of returning the full deposit back to them. They replied that they were very happy with the house and that they found the house beautiful. The next day, after their departure, 3 independent sources emailed me that the house was left in poor condition: large stains on the patio from food and drinks; all the towels had been soiled and dumped on the floor and I have over 30 towels; all the trash bins were stuffed full with trash including the yard waste bin and this was 4 days after trash collection; the master bathroom sink was clogged. We have washer and dryer in the house for the renters to use and there was absolutely no reason to use up all the towels in the 7 days that they stayed and absolutely no reason NOT to do their own laundry. Additional maid services was required. We had to haul away 10 big trash bags to make some room for the next tenant. We had to unclog the drain in the master bathroom. We had to power wash the patio. There were still some residual stain after the wash. The candle wax was particularly difficult to eliminate. All these are unnecessary and additional costs. If I had opted to restore the patio to its original condition by replacing the stones, the entire damage deposit was clearly not sufficient. We owners hope tenants look after their houses like their own. Some are irresponsible and/or cannot look after a house, a beautiful house as they themselves called it. On request, I have emails and pictures for all to see.

Very well-furnished house and great views

I would highly recommend this very quiet home overlooking the arroyo (and a golf course down far below) in Pasadena, one of the most beautiful views in California. Most rooms (MBR, LR, K and den) have the view and a terrace runs the entire length of the house on the view side. We had breakfast on the terrace every morning.

The house is furnished with top of the line amenities, particularly in the kitchen.

The house is in NW Pasadena and a short drive to downtown Pasadena with all of its restaurants and cultural attractions. That drive can either be very quick by freeway or very scenic driving down into the arroyo past the Rose Bowl and Gamble House.

My wife is insisting that we visit again next winter.
