|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Beautiful and luxurious property combining every modern convenience - under-floor heating, a spacious kitchen and dining area and wireless broadband, with traditional cottage features - a log burning stove, beams and inglenooks. The gardens have been professionally landscaped and are private, with several secluded areas, including a small enclosed courtyard.
The large living area, with contemporary soft furnishings and a wooden floor, also includes a reading area and a desk. There is a formal dining room; architect-designed kitchen with Aga and with adjacent dining area, utility room and pantry; master bedroom with en-suite; a double bedroom and a third bedroom with twin beds sharing the main bathroom; additional toilet on ground floor.
Most of the windows in the cottage have window seats giving lovely views over the village and dramatic moorland beyond.
Fantastic cottage, everything to the highest standard yet feels like a home. Thanks for some relaxing days away from it all
We had a fantastic time staying at September cottage! Our family of 5 was extremely comfortable in this well-located, cosy yet spacious home.
It is perfectly placed to explore the vast and beautiful Dartmoor National Park, though the home is so welcoming it is tempting to just relax in the cottage with a book in front of the wood-burning stove all day!
The kitchen is so well-equipped it includes any item one might need to prepare a lovely gourmet meal.
Immaculately clean which was very much appreciated!
Management handled all aspects of the rental very efficiently and pleasantly.
We would not hesitate to return!
As good as it looks in the photos, September Cottage is much more impressive in reality. Every small detail had a thought behind it and a luxury treatment. The place is spotlessly clean, extremely spacious, and feels like home which makes you wonder if it not better to skip travelling around and just stay there all day long. Our daughters (13, 11, 7) loved the cottage, played the many tabletop games and admired the lovely garden. You even have internet - not so simple in remote North Bovey.
We have just returned from a perfect stay at September Cottage. The cottage has been beautifully decorated with high quality furniture and fittings. Super kitchen with aga and all spotlessly clean,. We loved it and will return.
A professional care has been taken to provide holiday-makers with every conceivable creature comfort. Highly appointed decor within a luxurious and comfortable home. This is the perfect setting for a 'get away from it all' holiday. It is sad that the local pub recently suffered from serious fire damage - it is likely to be many months before the owners will be open for business again. Having said this, Morton Hampstead and Bovey Castle are very near and there are a number of other local hostelries to choose from. Lastly, the bookings administrator (manages the property portfolio) was very efficient in the swift return of our security deposit. Top marks all round!!!
We spent a week at September Cottage for our 30th Wedding Anniversary in September so it was aptly named! We had a lovely, relaxing time and would definitely return.
The house is very pretty from the outside and the gardens are a real treat. There are several places to sit so that the sun can be followed around the house. On the inside, the house is absolutely huge and I would call it a 'handsome' house. It is not at all 'twee' as everything is so big - from the TV to the kitchen area. The house would be perfect for a family or for up to three couples as there is masses of space and different areas for different activities.
The decor and furnishings are a mixture of traditional and contemporary which works very well and the beds are extremely comfortable with quality bedlinen. The house is spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped. There are also plenty of logs for the wood burning stove.
North Bovey is 'chocolate box' pretty and in a wonderful area. The Ring of Bells pub is a 'proper' pub and is frequented by the locals as well as visitors. The food is excellent and there is a lovely seating area outside. The Rugglestone Inn at Widecombe-in-the-Moor is a fabulous unspoilt pub with good pub 'grub'.
We had our anniversary dinner at Hotel Endsleigh on the other side of Dartmoor. It was about an hour's drive but the views were stunning and the meal and the ambience of the hotel was superb.
We had lots of days out, including a visit to The Garden House at Buckland Monochorum which was simply stunning, but it was just as lovely to lie on the grass in the sunshine at the back of September Cottage and listen to the birds and the sound of church bells.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at September Cottage. It's located in a lovely village with an excellent pub and charming church. It was a great base from which to explore Dartmoor and wonderful to return to after a long day walking. Beautiful gardens and well-stocked, spacious kitchen. Everything top quality and well thought-out.
North Bovey is a picturesque village boasting spectacular views and an ancient church. It is a short drive from the moorland towns of Moretonhampstead and Chagford and is ideally situated for walking and exploring the Dartmoor National Park. Dartmoor was designated a National Park in 1951 and covers 368 square miles.
